  1. I think them doing the 75000 instead was the right thing to do, you should never let a service get that far overdue! On the slightly older subject or di-directional torque wrenches, they are there for when you have a bolt that has the thread going in the other direction, yes, they DO exist and you find them on cars in some spots.

    supercharger

You cannot put the TRD Aurion supercharger on any other car, it wont mount up properly. You can put an aftermarket supercharger on, all depends how much your willing to spend.
  3. Thing is, with these sludge cleaning processes such as Seafoam, if you clear out all that sludge, especially with an older car, and don't replace pretty much ALL the seals and gaskets on it, it'll leak oil like a siv. Some older engines are held together by the sludge and carbon thats in them! You can imagine why some workshops would offer them, charge for a 'carbon clean', wait a month and they'll be back in to fix all the leaks. If you really wanted to clear it all out properly you need to rebuild the engine and give it a acid bath imo.
  4. They will not cause problems and the higher octane fuel will give no benefit.
  5. Damn those stock rods are teeny! Damn those aftermarket rods are massive! Very nice quality too, can barely see the join between the bearings.
  6. If you have I/H/E, want more but are not going so far as upgrading the valvetrain (cams etc) then I would pop in a ECU now (hell, thats what I was going to do). However, if I was considering valvetrain upgrades I would get it ALL together at the same time, if you run stage 3 cams (+ springs etc), you really need to get a aftermarket ECU to make use the higher powerband and unlock those extra revs. FYI this would be awesome. So ultimately you need one either way, its just deciding when your going to install it. Oh and buy my PowerFC :P support my apprenticeship! Ninja edit: BTW your stock fuel pump should supply you with all you'll ever need N/A, but you will most likely need to go up a step injector wise. Oh and if you go cams, def get And1's ported head!
  7. Haha dont worry about it, a few people had to leave after the first point, then I got lost and it all kinda died anyhoo, was good meeting some new peeps tho.
  8. Could be the O2 sensor (aka oxygen sensor, aka lambda sensor) has gone bad, that can effect consumption. How are you calculating consumption? Onboard computer or comparing fill ups?
  9. Theres a chance I might not be able to make it, the car is in at the auto leccy getting a problem fixed that prevents me driving at night - my tail light fuse keeps blowing, which means no tail lights and also, because its tied in to 'let you know', the speedo, tacho and temp dont light up, so I cant tell how fast I'm going or if I'm boiling the engine in the dark. They assured me it'd be done, bloody better! Edit: Got car back, no probs, cant recommend Schultz Auto Electrical enough!
  10. DD make a short runner version that FITS, they've fitted one to a Matrix. Prob is the short runner version is for all out N/A builds only, it doesn't really perform without huge mods, higher C/R, Stage 3 Cams n stuff.
  11. Ceramic pads are pretty aggressive, you'll stop super good once they warm up, but instead of going through break pads, you'll go through rotors instead! Most popular street + track pad I know of is Ferodo DS2500's, heaps of people swear by em.
  12. Depends on the type. If its a metal or dry filter, blast it with water, use a SOFT brush to get any little rocks n stuff out. If its really dirty, soak it. If its a oiled type filter (more likely), you will need a cleaning kit, a K&N Recharger kit comes with instructions, cleaning solution and replacement oil, I use it on all my filters. You only need to clean your filter every 3 months or so. Edit: ah forgot to mention, make sure its 100% absolutely dry before you put it back on, unless its oiled.
  13. If you have friends with non-toyotas I dont see why they cant come, more the merrier I say. Yeah why not, and I want to hear my old exhaust again that JT3 has :D
  14. 1. -DAvo (white aurion) 2. Mole 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Pssh valentines day, dont worry about that.
  15. I'm down for something, the Supra thing was canceled, which I promise I will not whinge about. On a forum. Whenever is pretty much good for me atm.
  16. Yeah theres talk of postponing it a little but we'll see what tomorrows forecast is like.
  17. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31298 *cough*
  18. In the unlikely event that anyone actually comes, the meet point has changed from city west to Dog Swamp Shopping Centre. Meet time is still 2pm.
  19. Theres only one turbo on a stock 7M-GTE. If your thinking of converting a turbo to non-turbo by removing them forget it now, the engine is designed for boost, with low compression pistons etc. It'll be very down on power if you just took off the turbos and fitting a NA exhaust manifold. Engine swap will be in the thousands. Buy a non-turbo to start with instead!
  20. Heres the dealio: The PowerFC is built for the 7th Gen ZZT Celica, which had the 2ZZ-GE engine. The Sportivo Corolla, despite having the same engine, has a different ECU and Loom stock. You can still use a PowerFC from the Celica but you need a custom harness so you can run the stock ECU as well to keep everything working happy. SuperDave on here makes the harnesses.
  21. That 'burnt tip', when real, is a byproduct of heat + titanium exhausts... its pretty expensive dont cha know! You can get it on some stainless ones but its not as nice. Get what you linked, thats nice! If you want something specifically you will -need- to order it in, patience is required with car parts! Theres really only a few brands I can think of that I could just go and buy same day (Magnaflow... Lukey... PEX... XForce...).
  22. This. Another problem is finding a Unichip tuner.
  23. Yeah the 8 series looks a lot like the M1, for its time it was pretty powerful n stuff. See a lot of them around Europe when I was there and theres always one right near where I used to work. Sexy car. Concept M1 is aweful :P That 1 series M tho is awesome.
