  1. Here you go Craig - I promise to join as soon as I get my tax refund, ok...?
  2. I'm 33. I think I'm the oldest Sportivo owner on here since Peekay moved on.... :(
  3. Dude, maybe we should pool our resources and make a profit in the Buy/Sell section....
  4. Zee, I'm interested to know why you think lowering alone would affect acceleration...

    BUSTED!!!

And notice that most of the dudes are older corporate types... It would be all 16 year olds if it was an Aussie site.
  6. Our box should be fine - the supercharged Lotus Exige 240R uses the same box (with shorter ratios) producing 240hp.
  7. Sorry, haven't bought any of that gear, just a CAI and front strut brace (both TRD). From memory, they cost me $480 + $170 + postage. Oh, I did get a TRD oil filter for about $30 too.

    BUSTED!!!

That's why I'm never going to christen the stivo
  9. Evo - by 'done' I mean I was driven around an entire stage, by Petter Solberg, in a WRC WRX at full tilt (as evidenced by the dead pigeon caught in the scoop at the end of the stage). A mate and I won a competition on ch10's RPM program and spent the whole rally as part of the Subaru team. The day after the rally ended, they took us back out to the course and dirt a stage stage for about 20 people, me included, one at a time. Other highlights included getting ****** with Bill Woods and Barry Sheene, and cracking onto Subaru's PR manager. Ive got publicity shots of me in racing suit, helmet and gloves next to and in the car with Petter. Cougs - Pikes Peak is near Colorado Springs. You'll need a hire car from Denver, and it's about an hours drive south (maybe a touch more). Dress warm for the peak, it can get cold up there! FYI, take the shuttle bus from the airport to Denver, it's a lot cheaper than the taxi, which cost me $48 + $10 tip.
  10. Nah, the file fairy did it!!! :P
  11. A guy I work with swears the pre-facelift model Levin front spoiler and driving lights are different to the Sportivo's. I reckon they are the same. Who is correct?
  12. Footage isn't as good as being in the co-driver's seat.... I've done a stage at Rally Australia in 2001 in Petter Solberg's WRX - the grip they get on dirt is phenomenal. Oh, and he hit a pigeon which got stuck in the bonnet scoop.
  13. Or have the toyota nailing the honda and the nissan in a chain...
  14. Depends - in Sydney or Melbourne they will probably drop back 20% if interest rates rise.
  15. Cars evolve over time - people should get used to it. Have a look at Lasers, Corollas, whatever, they all tend to grow in size. I know my car now is bigger than an AE86, which is bigger than my first KE20 Corolla.... This sticks in my craw, because I would buy a 'Galant', but the name Mitsubishi 380 makes me think of the Holden 3.8L V6 for some reason. Oh, and I thought the secret plans from Japan were for a future V6 4wd Corolla.....
  16. Pfffftttt!!! They obviously didn't market test with anyone who'd ever seen a Galant VR4.
  17. On my recent US trip I visited Pikes Peak, Colorado, site of the second-oldest motor sports event in the country, after the Indianapolis 500. The race climbs nearly 5,000 feet in 10 miles, ending at 14,110 feet above sea level near the summit of Pikes Peak. By comparison, Mt. Kosciusko is only 7,310 feet high. First run in 1916, the 2005 Race to the Clouds was the 83rd instalment. I didn't plan on being there for the race, but as it turned out I was only one day early. While they were setting up for the race however, there was only one race car at the start line when I got there. Luckily for me it was an AE86 Corolla/Sprinter Trueno, so that's why I'm posting in the Corolla section :) . It is the car of Taka Aono, a famous and well-respected drift racing instructor in the US. I think I might go back next year, just to watch the race (even though they start at 5am!!)

  22. All the advice I was given was 'don't use synthetic for the first 2-3 oil changes!' Not sure why...
  23. Plenty of red ones here in SA...
