  1. So pretty much in Summary, Buy a new Hybrid or a Grande if you need the feature so bad lol :S it is a great feature though, sure you could live with out the starter button (the whole key thing idea wasn’t really broken?) but the chicks sure seem impressed by it :P The whole door and boot bit locking and unlocking by touch is a great feature especially if your hands are full or in the rain. get it if you can but like DJ said you probably don't want to know the cost :S
  2. Mate if you’re from Bahrain it's possible that these products are not available/for sale over there, or alternatively Toyota may have some over products for sale over there. Or your dealer may be linked with a 3rd party and maybe selling their fuel system cleaner/injector cleaner? $86 is several times more than the products for sale here.
  3. The Batteries should last around 3 or 4 years and as mentioned even though you may not use it that much it’s getting drained just to open/lock and start/stop the car. I noticed an interesting fact the other day. The battery for the Aurion ZR/3500SL and Presara is $20.50(depending on your local dealer) and the battery out of the Corolla Ultima which is exactly the same CR1632 cost $5.50... :S difference being? The Aurion battery is sourced from Panasonic is Japan and the corolla's is sourced from Panasonic is Indonesia. SO even if the Japanese battery is a little bit better which is probably is you can still go through a couple of the Indonesia ones and still be in front. This might come in handy in the future!
  4. That’s a big difference in kays especially since the Aurion is cheaper... kind of hard to miss that opportunity. Shame the STi versions are still quite expensive they are a good drive bit soft in the body and chassis but still a good quality vehicle though. mm wow that’s interesting, I’d actually say that my car feels really solid and sure footed in the wet... Toyota has promised great things from its next large car, stiffer stronger more advanced suspension set up and one can only imagine other technology such as Direct Injection will also be part of the package. AWD was looked at in the original Aurion plan but Japan said no. when the Aurion gets more power it will need more grip!
  5. Yeah new Liberty is ugly as all sin, is the clown that ruined most of the BMW range now working at Subaru? first the Tribeca then the Impreza and the Outback and now they've screwed the new Liberty. The old one was a much nicer car so perhaps a GT "Tuned By STI" would be the go? there not a bad thing at all.
  6. Thats interesting as the directions on the can say this, 1.Detach the glovebox, the filter case and the cabin air filter. 2.Mask the electric wiring near the blower fan with vinyl etc. 3. Spray the ENTIRE quanity of the chemicals towards the evaporator side. 4. Reattach disassembled parts after drying, changding to a new cabin air filter is recomended. It doesnt say it in the instructions but obviously you need to be running your aircon system so that it goes through your entire A/C system. FEATURES: Removes unpleasent air conditioner odors/long term deodorization/prevents bacteria, fungus and algae.
  7. ahh yeah sorry my bad, had an educated guess at it after only looking at the bottle once. the part number actually is 08821-00830 sorry guys.
  8. I'm Running Falkner FK452 directional tyres (245/35ZR19 Y) on my bus and i can't really praise them enough, in both the wet and dry the confidence they give you when throw it in a corner is simply inspiring you can really trust them and lean on them there a really good thing! of course the down side is firm ride quality and at least whilst they were new a little bit of tyre roar but that seems to of settled a bit now. 9000kms later I’m stoked with my choice and would recommend them to anybody.
  9. We found within work vehicles that we noticed the change after the first tank of fuel so near as makes no difference to 600kms, any major change before then would be the placebo effect. i'm thinking the difference would be more noticeable in a diesel hilux or the like more so than a car with the 2GR-fe engine as it's always a smooth idler/engine. But you should notice some difference after a tank or so. Djkor's post is pretty much on the money here, you don’t need to wait quite so long but that's pretty much the story though. Might be a worthwhile thing to do every time you change your cabin filter, save you having to take it out twice. I will copy the directions of the can and post them up tomorrow :)
  10. nah mate that's fine it's also important for people to know there is also some good aftermarket brands specialising in this sort of product a few doctor has a good reputation for been a good product. Yeah give it a crack mate, your car is at the kays where it could benefit from a product like this might even get it a bit cheaper if you’re lucky haha :)
  11. MM yeah sorry mate but it's just to much like the "limited edition" Pontiac faced Commodore SSV if you want a unique grill you may as well have one that's unquie to all car brands yeah?
  12. Guys Toyota's by nature always read under usually by a margin of about 6%, you'll find pretty much all Toyota's will read between 4 and 6kms under whatever your Speedo is displaying. My car with 19's reads about 6 kms under and the Hilux's and Hiace's at work read about 5kms under. :)having a few kays margin can be a good thing though?
  13. Hey guys, Yeah look i promise you will notice a difference and really it's $24.00 every 2 years or 40,000kms that’s nothing i mean what’s a packet of cigarette’s worth these days? Like unique said, it won't kill you to give it a try it can only do good! and whilst yes you don’t need to use these products it's not essential but it sure will make your engine last longer and perform better, bit like going to the gym, you don’t need to do it your body still works but it's all that much better if you do work out hay? How does it work? well! Over time deposits can build up on fuel injectors and intake valves causing issues such as reduced engine power, poor fuel economy and increased emissions. Toyota Genuine Injector Cleaner can rapidly penetrate these deposits, breaking them down so they can be dissolved into the fuel and burnt as part of the combustion process. This can restore your engine to its New car performance. Toyota Genuine Petrol Injector Cleaner removes deposits from injector nozzles, intake valves, spark plugs and combustion chambers so they can work as they were originally designed and avoid Issues of poor combustion and misfiring. Well mate I’d say that is probably not likely that it's this product, more than likely they would have used the old "Jetstream" injector cleaning which was around $9, check your invoice? but your dealer would be in the process of making the switch to this new improved formula, also they could be linked up with either Wynns or Valvoline and also be using their engine flush, friction proofing, injector cleaner products. Now as for the A/C cleaner Toyota recommends using the product every 2 years of 30,000kms or whenever you replace your cabin filter pretty much :) it can remove something like 370 odd odours and micro organisms it also protects your aircon system from these organisms growing back any time soon, this one should be a good seller I’m thinking.
  14. Hey Guys, I know it's frowned upon to promote products on the site but as these are Genuine Toyota Products i feel this is ok, plus its things people are forever asking about! So first up Toyota has Released a new range of concentrated Injector cleaners that are compatible with D4 engines (Direct injection 4stroke)There's one for petrols and one for diesel, i can personally vouch for these products, we have used them in work vehicles and the difference is noticeable! Especially in the diesels when they are cold no more rattles/knocking, and much smoother and they feel freed up again and it has seemed to of help economy too. I plan on putting a bottle through the Aurion next week when it gets serviced. Its worth noting that because this new range is concentrated it only needs to be put in every 2 years or 40,000kms as opposed to the old Jet stream version that was required around every 10,000kms (Jetstream also wasnt compatible with D4-D engines) anyway for more information check out the attachment. But its a cheap way to clean your engine regain a bit of lost power and economy, loose any hesitations and get back that smooth idle all with the knowledge its a product formulated especially for your Toyota Engine by Toyotas own engineers. (Really should work in P.R aye?) *Important to note that this product should only be poured into a fuel tank that is three quarters full be preferable it's best to pour the product in before refuelling.* Injector Cleaner - 08813-00830 $24.00 (once every 2 year or 40,000kms) Diesel Injector Cleaner - 08813-00860 $24.00 (once every 2 year or 40,000kms) Old Jetstream Injector Cleaner- 08813-01000 $9.50ish (once every 10,000kms) Also Toyota has launched a cleaner/flusher for the aircon systems to clear the system and remove any bacteria and odour that may cause an illness part number for this is from memory is 00821-80830 and cost around $66 anybody who has an aircon that's a bit on the noise this product should be able to fix this problem up for you :) Attachment won't load sorry guys,mm this isnt the one i was trying to upload but this gives a little more detail http://www.toyota.com.au/parts-and-service/parts/oils-lubricants
  15. Hey yeah no worries, Slimeline Weather Sheilds - 08611-33850 $144.10 RRP Primer Adhesive - PZQ99-00090 $14.30
  16. - DJKOR To be honest, I was using that more of an excuse to hide my thoughts that I don't approve of Aurion's out there driving with a TRD kit on with no go under the hood. The fact that there are around 614 genuine TRD's out there makes me want to keep the numbers of them limited. At least with those replica kits, there are differences that help keep the real TRD's the way they are. Selfish I know, but that what I think. It's like the whole fake handbag business. It's that common that someone could be walking around with a genuine Louis Vuitton handbag, and you would just think it is a fake. Yeah i can appreciate that and i think everybody would find that view fair enough. Toyota has probably priced the TRD body kit so expensively to protect owners of the cars from fake look a likes because most other unique components like brakes suspension, chassis are pretty cheap to upgrade too. it makes me laugh every time i see a VT Commodore Executive with an E-series one front splitter, Monaro rear lamp assy (or the cheap Supercheap auto ones)and a Y-series rear bumper, HSV owners must just spew when they see that!
  17. Stress less mate, TRD parts are still been made and will continue to be for quite some time, in fact every part I’ve ever look up for either TRD vehicles there has been enough of that part for every TRD to be Ridden off at least 2 or 3 times over so owners don’t need to fear. However i do agree that things like the unique body kit should be kept for actual owners nothing worse than spending a fortune for a car just to have every Bogan in town with the base model car also having your body kit, just ask the HSV boys lol
  18. Remembering of course i work for the big T but this really sounds like you problem and frustration is with your dealer not been able to rectify your issues would strongly take psoo2010 suggestions or at least visit another dealer and start fresh. You do seem a little to have all the niggling issues in the one car. Most people have only experienced the one or two in their cars. My personal experience with Aurion has been great only issues I’ve had is the VVT-i recall and dash recall (even though my car barely had the rattle) only other issues I’ve had is the result of other companies playing with my car for example i had annoying rattle in the dash again which got tracked down to the tweeter grill which was not slipped back into place properly when the sound system was put it and the rear lens was a bit loose because when the touched the bumper up they loosened the lamps and never did them back up! centre console was squeak when you leant on it but they fixed that when they did the dash and other than that only rattle i have is from my keys in the console and from cd cases rattling about that drive the other half nuts (design flaw. really should of had a cd holder) and in comparison to the old XR6T the interior is much better put together things are where they should be info is where it needs to be and god you can even see the steering wheels buttons at night! Sure Aurion is no LS460 but it a better built and factory backed than other Australian produced cars and on the whole i think we spend less time at our dealers then the falcodore boys and are over all happy with our cars.
  19. Have people found that there car runs better if the interim service is done? I’ve had my car almost a year (well 9 months)and it had a service done a few days before i took delivery so either it had two services done in matter of a few months or had a late service but anything the letter from work arrived in the mail tonight about the next service and i was thinking that since we don’t really to the kms in Tas that after this service I’d probably start doing the interim service every 6months, was also wondering if anybody uses any additives when they do a service, I’m a freak when it comes to giving my car the best and every quarter i give it a bottle of Toyota jet stream injector cleaner when i fill her up and well i was thinking that i might run some Engine flush before they drop the oil then refill it with some friction proof additive, has anybody bothered putting anything in their car, if so did you feel it was worth it?
  20. Mate your absolutely right prices for the Sportivo's and TRD vehicles are as follows :) RRP incl GST Unit, Headlamp,LH - 81170-06351 $545.60 Unit, Headlamp,RH - 81130-06351 $545.60 Bulb (For Headlamp,No.2) 90981-13075 $52.60 -- That's the Low beam and Fog lamp Globe so of course making it an H11
  21. Yes as DJ mentioned these are RRP and GST inclusive and yeah i Work for Toyota so this is easy information for me to gather :). You won’t need to give your local Toyota Part and Accessories division the part numbers they can suss that out for them self but yeah you could mention that you’ve visited other dealers in that area and they was going to charge you this price or that price if that particular dealers price is dearer. All dealers prices should be pretty much the same, there might be a bit of difference from state to state but nothing major though.
  22. Well there is the unique dealer stamp boy’s lol? and for vehicles with Service advantage a slip ( i think it maybe be the from your book not sure can’t remember now) actually goes to Toyota along with the bill, so yes if they wanted to find out TMCA certainly could guys :S. But hay if you do get another qualified mechanic to service your car other than a Toyota trained technician then as long as your parts are Toyota Genuine there shouldn’t be a problem with your warranty :)
  23. Well your car will for sure can some attention! put it on lowered suspension and a few other mods and you'll yourself a pretty out there car !
  24. Ok so here are the prices and part numbers for those couple of bits you was asking about :) Mirror Sub-ASSY,LH - 87909-06300 $162.80 Mirror Outer Cover LH - 87945-06902 $34.65 Mirror Sub-ASSY,RH - 8798-06300 $162.80 Mirror Outer Cover RH - 87915-06902 $34.65 Interior Illumination package - PZQ51-33050 $140.80 Aerostyle Roof Racks: "Overhang Type" - PZQ30-33030 $306.90 "Flush Fitting Type" - PZQ30-33040 $308.00
  25. Hey Guys, Because you can get new bumpers fairly cheap most Bodyworks choose to replace bumpers on Camry/Aurion as it makes near as makes no difference inprice for them to try and smooth out old pitted, scratched bumpers then prep and respray as it is to unwrap new ones and prep and respray :)but yeah really depends on how bad your bar is. Anyhow i have got the part numbers and RRP prices of the Aurion bumper/spoiler.
