  1. Chris, After you mentioned this to me, i had a look at my car and several other Sportivo's we had here at work and they both seem to be bolted through hole "a" just like your's so im not sure why your's would be so loose. As for the carpet thing all the Aurions seem to be like this, some worse than others, mine fits pretty good but ive seen others with a masive gap between the arch and the carpet :S
  2. O what another brand having a crack at a Gauntlet "rip off" lol every wheel company seems to have there own slightly different version. BUT none seem to have the quality of the Proper Advanti's though! all that aside this design does look mean on the Aurions 19inch is as big as you want to go with them though. have seen in on white Sportivo now that looked the goods. Also as DJKOR mentioned they are dead easy to keep clean!
  3. yeah i had a good old laugh about it when i seen they were fake, the owner is old guy too so not real sure why he's gone for some sporty calipers, sort of thing you expect to see on the local revheads VS/VT bombodore. Still what are they made out of that stops them from melting?
  4. I was out talking to some customer today when i noticed these bright red Calipers on a .... Hyundai Sonata (it was the V6 though thankfully) & as i got closer i could make out the Brembo logo on the side and started thinking to myself, why the hell would you spend that sort of money on brakes for a Sonata?? but then i seen that it was just some sort of plastic cover over the standard calipers, but from a distance you'd never know! i think they must of been like these ones here in this pic. http://cgi.ebay.com/brembo-universal-brake...S:B:SRCH:US:101 http://sportscarforums.com/f7/ohhhh-noooo-...iper-26996.html
  5. The TRD kit availble through R style doesnt seem to bad, beter than some of the other aftermarket TRD versions you can buy, this one looks like a pretty good copy of the front and back but the side skirts are chunky and dont seem to fit so good .. i'm suprised there isnt a few Sportivo's going about with this kits on them. I was going to put a proper TRD front on mine when i had to get my front end fixed up but soon changed my mind when i priced it up lol.. amillion $$ later!
  6. Sad thing is, Toyota's reputation for building vehicles with "QDR" has already come in to question even here on a local front in Tasmania. Today we had somebody make contact quite concerned that his locally build vehicle could also suffer this problem, and also would alarmed that perhaps Toyota's all of a sudden weren’t built like the used to be. My Dealer principal of course found this very alarming and promptly explained the situation in the US and why our CAMRY/AURION twins were different. Then he took it a step further by sending an email to the entire motor group that that each employee was armed with the correct information if they were ever faced with questions from customers. Make no mistake Toyota is taking this situation very seriously!
  7. Ok as Employee of Toyota this particular recall quite annoys me... Toyota is one of the few manufactures that have these Hooks on the driver’s side mat to stop them slipping under the pedals, Why are the caning Toyota over an potential failure of a part that is outsourced to another company when there is many manufactures that don’t even have this feature in there mats nor it it on any set you buy from supercheap etc. Why is nothing said about this? at least an effort has been made by Toyota in the first place to stop this potential problem from occurring when as mentioned before some other manufactures don’t and certainly aftermarket companies don't by not fitting there mats with this simple safety feature? was this simple an opportunity to have a crack at the big T? whilst over in Holden land they have Captiva's they won’t start and on a more serious note actually stop steering (imagine that at highway speeds?) but you hear next to nothing about it... guess the slight risk that one day the hooks that keep your floor mats down may snap is a much bigger problem that vehicles that just randomly stop steering.. WHAT A JOKE!
  8. "How's the driving experience for those out there using just the front strut bar without the rear sway bar - I'm thinking I would like a bit of sharper turn-in but I dont want the wife driving it and getting into any accidental oversteer situations This post has been edited by mikka: Today, 04:49 PM " i have just the front Strut bar on my car and as DJKOR said, it makes the car sit a little bit flatter through a corner but it slo stops the flex in the front end and because the strut towers dont move under load it seems to make the car a little bit "pointier" on turn in if that makes sense. for the small cost of the bar it's more than worth doing it!
  9. here we are guys, used photobuck to post these, hope the link works alright :D http://s883.photobucket.com/albums/ac35/ma...ur%20Own%20man/
  10. So did anybody have much luck in sussing out where this body brace goes?
  11. yeah it's got me stumped, ive saved the pics so i could look at them side by side and there is some obvious differences in regards to the mounts? it looks like the this brace runs straight through the area that the anti-roll bar would normally be.. also the there doesnt seem to be anywhere for the D rubbers to mount up too... almost seems to replace it somehow... i'm going to print the pics out and have a look at an aurion up on the hoist tomorrow, see if i can make some sense of it all. Well i might just had to put one of the bigger bars on my car then, Surely 23mm would cause a huge over steer problem though? anyway it'd be awesome if this brace could also be fitted up just to toughen the rear of the car up :D
  12. Ok so this is probably going to sound like a stupid ***** question... I’m interested in the rear lower bar member brace to stop that slight flex there is in the Camry/Aurion chassis but i just had a look under my car and couldn’t work out where it goes in relation to the anti-roll bar? Help me out somebody? Also whilst were on the topic of anti-roll bars, I was a little hesitant in also buying the bigger roll bar when I got the strut brace, was worried that it might mess up the over/under steer balance of the car. So you guys that have both how have you found the change in the car balance now it's been on your cars for a while now?
  13. mm thats weird it wont let me upload any other pictures? keeps saying in the left hand corner attachment space used 9.78mb of 9.77mb even thoguh i have no pics attached atm, is that normal lol?
  14. Also it will depend on what auto he has, no doubt he has bought one of the 09 plated cars for 35,990 driveaway or what ever they are which only come with the 5speeder, these cars would be a a couple of tenths slower than cars equipped with the excellent 6sp ZF unit. But like DJ said just hurry up and do it already lol?
  15. mmm the best time an Xr6 could do on a grippy slightly down hill track was 6.9 and 14.9 or 7.24 and 15.24@149 km/h on the road. Aurions have been clocked a 6.8 and 14.8 a few times now on the road... sure the journo's are slighty pro drivers but the Aurion should still have the edge?
  16. the only cool blue colour there is... Caribbean blue, looks extra trick on the sportivo's!
  17. Supatouring: o yes you are correct, i just looked it up on the computer and yeah, the 3500s just has the normal rear reo support but the SL has larger wider, thicker one. costs the earth two but it should bolt up though? Secaboy: yeah i have the front strutbar fitted and now that it's nice and stiff i hear the rear of the car flex, thoguth it was going to be a easy cheap fix like the front lol.
  18. Oh right is that so? after all the spills we got from toyota reps when the vehicles were released i was under the impression that they replaced the rear reo for a bigger chunkier extruded one? mmm damm thoguht hat wa sgoing to be an easy fix for that flexing lol
  19. Yeah just as i thought. The factory one does seem to be a fair size so should flow sufficently i'd think. hey another question. The ultra racinf strutbrace and the standard one in th sportivo's stop the front of the car flexing but every time i go up a drive on an angle i hear the rear. Now as part of the TRD package the rear got an extra brace to stiffen the back end of the car. Would this brace bolt on to the Sportivo's? i'm guessing this extra brace has something to do with the rear reo?
  20. So on tues im having my mufflers and tips replaced, but they asked about the cat and if i wanted a free flowing one. has anybody else botherd to replace the cat on there Aurion? looking at it, it seems to be a fair size for a 6 so does anybody have an idea of how free or constrictive it is and weither it would be worth getting replaced whilst they are at it? cheers
  21. So a few days later hows the K&N system going? added any oomph or just a smoother sound?
  22. I was always under the impression that the audio system in Aurions only worked in your vehcile, so if it was stolen to be fitted to another Aurion or Camry it wouldnt work? is this not so anymore?
  23. i had this problem with my ZR6, but i got it rectified when i had the dash rattle fixed, seem'd pretty easy to fix guys. get in touch with your dealer
  24. MCV20 Touring GT-P nice! good rare car if you can pick it up for the right price!
