  1. oh man i drove another TRD at work today and i found myself just staring at the front for ages going fark that looks tough and mean, i love them that much was half keen to swap the front over and hope the owner didn’t notice, yes ok so the cars are two different colours i know i know haha :P and them seats there so much better than the Sportivo's which aren’t exactly crap either
  2. Guys FWD's can be fast good handlers too you just have to know how to get the best out of them, Once you’ve changed your style driving to extract the best out of them your right. Perhaps this is why Aurion cops a caning from Motor/Wheels. There so used to a million billion kw rwd v8 that they don’t have a clue how to drive a fwd quickly lol
  3. yeah ditto, i'd be interested in seeing the end result too :)
  4. SO at the end of the day it didnt wow you like you expected? and not a bigger enough difference to warrent the change?
  5. I’m not sure about the Kumho's but i have Fk452's in 245/35 ZR19 size on my car and cant praise them enough, for the first 500kms they do seem pretty noisy but that does soon go away and are now no nosier than any other tyre of that size, They offer mammoth amount of grip and traction and wear quite well, feel very stable in a corner and can be pushed pretty hard and perform well in the wet i wouldn’t hesitate to buy them. A few weekends ago we did quite a big road trip around Tas and they amazed me how they held on through the corners epically though the hairpins, really expected it to wash wide or the tyres to just let go but it just tucked in and kept turning great match to the Aurion’s chassis i think!
  6. At the end of the day all these kinds of cars have their up's and downs BUT all will bring a smile to your face and will make you happy, you just need to way up which one has the more "up's" that relate to your life style :) Overall quality of car is incorporates all aspects of the car and ownerships. the actually build quality of the car and how its parts fits with each other and the quality of the parts, how easy the controls and features are to use, fuel effiency, insurance, rego, resale and servicing costs The Aurion does pretty good against all these fields. But seriously you have got to drive the turbo 6 they are amazing, i would have kept mine if it hadn’t been a total piece of crap in every other way. Guys on here complain about dash rattles on the Aurion but that is nothing like the BF Mk2 the dash and console, sunroof and rear suspension rattled creaked and knocked all on a 08 car with 18000kms! Had brake problems that new rotors and pads didn’t fix it was just a nightmare and as i impressive as the performance was when you'd burry the foot it didn’t make up for the overall quality deficiency :( BUT the FG does seem to be a better built car than BF. SSV is probably the best all round car especially with AFM which yes is only available on the 6L80 Auto and as mentioned the VE2 update is coming later in the year so now would be a good chance to grab a SSV or Pontiac looking car pretty cheap. car with the least compromises has all the gizmo's you need without having to option things up. XR6T's mammoth wave of torque from idle might scare your mum a bit especially in the rain but would have better performance and use less fuel when you’re not caning it and would be less to insure rego etc, down side is apart from the one turbo badge and bigger rims and intercooler they look exactly the same as the all too common N/A XR6 :( at least the XR8 has that bonnet. But yeah your choice best of luck with it :)
  7. No way!!!! if you wanted a fast Ford you'd be a total tool to over look the XR6 Turbo/F6 and buy the asthmatic Boss V8, there a waste of space! If you want a V8 then it's got to be the GEN4 powered Holden and a SSV isn’t a bad choice but like DJKOR said just forget about good insurance, fuel economy or rego costs. Also don’t expect the same service from your dealer or the manufacturer. Other things to remember is too that Holden is set to update the look of the VE later this year so if you don’t mind having the older looking car or the Pontiac look then you might be able to pick up a great bargain! Or alternatively if you did want the falcon V8 sound then the Boss engine is on the way out soon to be replaced by the S/C Coyote V8 so another chance to pick up a bargain! Good luck either way!
  8. Mmm see im actually different to the other guys, i much prefer climate control, find it hard to get and keep a nice even tempreture with out having to touch the aircon controls every few minutes, and the dual zone comes in handy for sure :) If you can get one then the Touring model would for sure be the way to go over the AT-X
  9. Haha shh don’t tempt me mate lol nahh fibre glass doesn’t do much for me and well not having the tow hook cover really has turned me off but yes I’d love the TRD front on my car but it’s just too damm expensive! Photoshop anyone lol?? I'm having bad enough trouble convincing myself i don’t need HID's in at least the fogies lol Don’t want to be stealing your thunder though mate!
  10. Just a random question coming out of left field, but these aftermarket kits dont seem to have the tow hook insert cover lol?
  11. Welcome Steve :) nice choice of car. Damm starting to get a few TRD's on here now hay :P for a full comprehensive lists of mods check out the FAQ section but just quickly the most common and usually first mods are wheels and tyres followed by suspension but you have the TRD so pass go and collect $200 lol your first mods should be a trip to the ultra racing website, check out the strut tower brace and anti-roll bar, that'll tighten the old girl up and having her turn in shaper and handling better :) http://www.ultraracingaustralia.com/
  12. everybody say it now ! WOAHHH Dj have you hit your head lol? thats a bigger backflip than a polly haha but i guess at the end of the day your right it is your car and your money to what you like but it'd suck to see a tonne of these kits on the road though espcially if they hadnt been pulled off properly lol. We could get away with it here in Tas becuase there is pretty much no TRD's only 2 in the whole north so we dont run into them everyday so the look would remain unique but for some places on the mainland having heaps would ruin the look and rareness of the car or something lol :) paradigm? the race is on :P JOKES
  13. ahhhhhh yeah you'll get cained for it lol, the TRD boys are pretty touchy when it comes to the body kit WHICH is FAIR ENOUGH they have shelled out the extra dough on what is a special limited addition so to have every second Sportivo out there with your body kit really wouldn’t be far and would sh!t you off something shocking. plus if it wasn’t done properly and ended up looking like a half ****d job - think all the crappy commodores out there with fake HSV kits on them then you'd ruin your car and make the TRD car look cheap and who wants that? BUT in saying that though the bumpers from RStyle and Carmate do actually differ somewhat from the OE kit so I’m sure if you was to stay away from the genuine product and went for these slightly different aftermarket kits you would be fine and the TRD owner’s wouldn’t mind??? Just remember though these aftermarket kits are fibreglass. Just my thoughts on it though. :D
  14. Yes welcome to the forum! Look forward to your contributions and future mods on the TRD! Also if you can point people in the direction of a performance chips/computer like the exede you'll become pretty popular hell fast lol!
  15. aww nah i think you can tell it's an aurion, the front is more like a Prodigy where as the back is pure Sportivo, perhaps the side Aurion badge and protector moulds would set it off though so there would be no mistake about what it is and dammm she's dropped low lol Hey it's even in the best colour - Caribbean Blue, not that i'm biased ofcourse ha ha

But depends on the size of your wallet though I use nothing but 98 but the aurion is my hobby so I don't mind happy driving!!!! Size of your wallet? Come on its only 1.35 a litre from BP98. Thats nothing, when I went overseas the country I was in, 91 was $3.85 a litre and LPG was $1.68. They pay more for LPG then we do for 98. Ever since seeing those prices and coming back here, petrol looks like its free. $1.35 for BP Ultimate 98?!!!!! are you for real? Were paying that for normal 91 in Tas and 95 is around $1.44 -$ 1.46 and 98 is like $1.55! lol, you poor thing . Yeah it was 1.35 when I filled up few days ago. Best of all that this BP is like 3 years old which means brand new underground tanks(less contaminants) and the BP is very very busy so fresh batches of fuel always get delivered. Win win! Only the best for the Aurion 2007 Aurion Prodigy | Current Mods: Slimline weather shields, rear spoiler, darkest legal tints, Aurion floor mats & metallic paint | Future mods: Ultra Racing rear sway bar & new sound system. haha have i mentioned i hate you right about now lol ;) $1.35 for 98 f@rk you lol :P
  17. $1.35 for BP Ultimate 98?!!!!! are you for real? Were paying that for normal 91 in Tas and 95 is around $1.44 -$ 1.46 and 98 is like $1.55! We went for our cruise yesterday and we filled up in a mining town and i was too scared to look at much it was a litre, just filled it up till it stopped and paid the bill :S Has to be said the fuel economy was pretty impressive, after 700kms of Tasmanian back roads the L/100 for Chris's car (Paradigm) and mine was 10.1 and 9.5 respectively or an average between the 2 cars of 9.8! Pretty good!
  18. Toyota sure does or at least did make Genuine Fully synthetic oil it used to have a brown label and was a 5W something lol. we had a few bottles kicking around at work (made good door stops in the warehouse) so as you can tell it was never a huge seller and when we finally sold it we never replaced it so not sure if it's still available .
  19. man i'm pretty sure if it wasnt for you and your old man Sikaflex would go outa business lol, oh yeah give it a file down and give it anothe crack let us know if you need a hand with it yeah? yeah your not wrong they was pretty blinding when you lit her up in your garage its a wonder you havent ****** somebody off lol espcially with the L.E.D parkers too!
  20. lol they illuminate for the most important person though- the driver lol? and shhh don't complain the XR6T didn’t even have illumined switches on the steering wheel now that was some annoying sh!t lol plus how often do you put your windows up and down at night? mmm it seems that mostly the guys saying that the low beams are average have cars that don’t have the driving lights lol so just for giggles i turned mine off tonight and they do seem to make a difference lol
  21. lol i feeling the sikaflex is going to make an appearance very soon! - oh been pulled over yet?
  22. oh OH guys don't bring this up again! i'd be hell keen to get some and fit them around the foglamp surround, my mate has just got some for his MCV20 and that looks pretty sweet, MUST STAY OFF EBAY MUST STAY OFF EBAY!
  23. Oh yeah there is some pretty sweet pictures there. some pretty sexy looking Auions out there hay! would be good to get some other cars in there though espically a TRD oh and mine
  24. Congrats on the buy, they truly are a great car i was very impressed after my couple of drives in them MUCH better to drive than normal Camry (sorry Tash lol) much prefer them to the prius too. They go and corner fair better and looks pretty trick too you’ve made a great choice and as for their performance they do get up and go pretty well just driving around town i found it (& mentioned it) to be a pretty similar experience to my car in the effortlessness in getting up to speed, just can’t quite stay with the Aurion in the high top even though when you get serious but still a damm fine drive. Wheels or motor recently ran 0-100 in 8.4-8.5 which not only better than the factory claim but is also faster than a "environmentally" friendly SIDI 3.0V6 Commodore.. Or on par with the old 3.0 V6 MCV36 Camry manual.
  25. Lol whops somebody has made a bit of a c*#k up :P that's one expensive Aurion lol. They must of really made a screw up too becuase why would you pay 39 for a 08 SX6 when you can get a new one for that price ... go figure
