  1. lol it will be done free of charge i'd say but yeah not sure what the go will be, possible it wil only be a selected vin range that's affected so those cars will be fixed as the cars that were built after that would of had the problem rectified on the production line :) But yeah see what tomorrow brings aye!
  2. haha c'mon dont pretend you dont know the anser to this lol :P yeah ok ill see if i can find out but it's likely even that if they are the same or similer the part number will be different becasue there different brands and Aurion's airbags would be sourced locally. But see what i can found out. if it can be made work damm that will make life easy!
  3. Hey Guys, From Tomorrow Toyota will release details and letters to affected Aurion owners, i can't actually say what the recall is because i don't even know yet but however i have seen the part and its like a foam pad "sort of thing" which to me resembles the sort of seal the put at the back of tail lamps to get them to seal not leak or rattle but i could be wrong this is just a guess time will tell but however i do know it's too do with a leak and i know a few people have had issues with water getting into the rear lenses. Also i did hear mention of the boot so perhaps enough people have complained about the slight boot leak the car has. Anyway i will post more detail tomorrow as they come to hand. If anybody else from Toyota land has any more details atm please let us know :)
  4. mmm it does sound a lot like AB-i Doing it's thing, are both Aurion’s the same model? or are your brake pads/rotors older or newer than the other car or is one car a ATX and the other a Sportivo? different wheel/tyre and suspension tune could give a slightly different result also it may be worth checking your wheel nuts? if these are loose it can cause a knocking noise under brakes.
  5. Hi Tom, on the driver’s side there should be two little eye holes already in the floor carpet, just push one end of the clip in each of the hole and then into the floor mat, if you have lots one of the clips you can buy replacement ones for a couple bucks from your local Toyota dealer :) Note there is only this locking system on the driver’s side, was put in place to stop the mats riding up and fowling the accelerator pedal.
  6. lol when i seen the name of this thread i thought haha Foster is not going to be happy when he see's this :P o well atleast you'll all have other people to bounce idea'd off to come up with the best and neatest looking job.
  7. After having a car with the ZF 6HP26 gearbox (XR6T)i can say that yes it's defiantly one of the best sequential Auto box's out there, is fantastic in D and does exactly what you tell it when you want it too in S mode, bounces of the limiter and holds gears and has pretty much zero lag., plus the +/- is around the right way lol. Must admit I’ve never really bothered to use the S mode in any of the other Toyota’s other that the Aurion’s U660E purely because the other vehicles that have the feature are pretty much the tanks of the range that don’t really do the sports thing so not sure if they shift up when you hit the rev limiter or not but I’ve never had the one in the Aurion do that but i also don’t really make a habit of bouncing my engine of the rev limiter lol.
  8. Hey HT , i will try to answer this without having a partfinder in front of me. What adamsy was saying is that the aurion models (atx,prodigy,sx6 and touring ) are all key start vehicles. the steering columns are slightly different. the intermediate shaft 45220-06132 is the lower shaft to the steering rack and the last digit 2 is the newer/superceeded part. the parts number referred to starting with 45250-***** is the upper part of the steering column and it differs if you have keyless or key starting systems. the keyless/smart entry has an electric steering lock and it is mounted differently. so in closing if you had the slight knock sound along with a thump feel in the steering ,more noticeable when braking or accelerating on the flat or over a driveway and you then had the int shaft replaced that should have fixed it. i drive over 20 cars a day and i have noticed the same feeling starting in klugers and some taragos too. so unless there is an issue with your rack and or rack ends or even noisey struts the shaft replacement should alleviate the original noise. i hope this helps That helps a lot!! thanks. Ok now that I understand I might be able to explain it a bit better. I had the lower 45220 shaft replaced under warranty due to knocking. But the problem is happening again but I am out of warranty, what are my chances of getting the upper 45250 done under warranty? Sorry HT have only just looked at this thread again, my bad. Ok the thing with warranties is that if you have brought a problem up with the car during the warranty period and it hasn’t been fixed or it reoccurs then technically it hasn’t been fixed so your warranty period hasn’t finished until such time as i has been rectified, but it’s a gray area and some dealers will really fight you on it. It's a bit strange that the lower section has been replaced as well? it does mention it in the bulletin but its accepted that the problem area is the "upper" section. I'd go see your dealer and get that section fixed as well. I actually have now noticed this issue with my car so have to get it fixed. pfft the bulletin says the dealer needs audio/video proof of the noise before a claim can be made. What crap! So to play along i tried to record it BUT AS IF! But yeah go see your dealer fella!
  9. ahhhh yeah $750 hurts a bit hay? i got the TRD Shocks and TRD springs out of the US for not much more than 750! ahh so thats why Tuxy hasnt been at work lately? you've knocked him off for trying it on with your sister and thrown the body in the boot??
  10. LC200, Prado 150 Series, Kluger 40 series, Aurion and Rukus aside i dont think the other Autos in Toyota's have Sequential Shift with AI? just the open gate system so you can shift down a gear or to to limit speeds going down hills etc? tell you what though the "b" feature on the HSD cars CVT trannies is pretty decent peforming feature. :)
  11. haha yeah, far out it looked that tough out the front in a slightly dark area too looked real nice aftermarket wheels on it, pretty meanacing, thats what caught my eye and then i was like sh!t that's an Aurion
  12. Geez i dunno these rough Knuckle taxi drivers we have in tassie haha! Oh Scott we went down to the country club last night to check up on Foster Djiing you know making sure he was doing us proud lol and guess what i seen out the front? a Black Sportivo taxi think his rego was FLASH? So theres another taxi getting about now:P
  13. mmmmm like in ay work[lace there are different personalities with in the workshop. some technicians are great at pulling gearboxes and diffs apart and rebuilding where as other are better at pulling trims off and other delicate work. really is up to the workshop Forman to make sure the best mechanic is for that job is on that job :)
  14. Ahhh gay sag my sad lol i have TRD springs and just like you said they have a massive sag issue in the rear! i swear every time i look at the car its got lower and lower! so much so that its given the wheels a bit of a camber look to it, which it does have but never used to notice but ill fix that ith peddars camber pin kit. i was pretty sure for a while there Lovell’s had a spring kit out for the Aurion did anybody else see it? If i get much more sag im seriously considering Peddars Coilovers. So weird on a flat surface the car sits pretty damm flat maybe slightly more gap in the front arch to the rear but on anything bar perfectly flat ground it looks like ive got dead bodies in the boot ahhh :(
  15. Hey Guys, Hoping everybody is well! I have a question like most states Tasmania has its own little state club, where we chat much like we do here attempt to get cruises, gatherings happening and some of the guys with older Toyotas, like Celica, soarer chaser supra etc swap and source parts, but we seem to have this problem on the site where it will be hot one week and things actually seem like there going somewhere and then the next die in the **** again! We seem to have a problem of stuff either happens in the north that is no good to the southern members and vice versa, and it seems most things happen in the north. the cruises and gatherings we had like the Lyell highway cruise car shows and the like have only been half successful not massive amount of cars and ppl have rocked up which is disappointing because there not easy things to get off the ground, the southern guys just recently had quite a good cruise around there region and a few of the members are in the middle of a "just jap" day for the prevention of youth suicide cruise which looks to be a good thing if the details can get sorted and paradigm and myself are organising a east coast trip in November that is looking good with good support from the entire state so perhaps this is turning point and its getting better for the club but the admins and mods find themselves very frustrated with the lack of support on the day for planned activities so really I’m looking for some help advice from guys who are involved in there state club, give us some suggestions cheers Matt.
  16. Ahhh man i've ben slack as, been meaning to become a TOCAU supporter for like a month now my bad :s but apart from the sticker you get did the number plate surround or lanyard ideas ever get off the ground? id'be keen for them.
  17. Congratulations on your purchase those touring are great value for money that for sure! As for the seat covers mate, like other have mentioned here i too always recommend to customer to either buy genuine seat covers or not to worry about it as the multi vehicle fit after market ones just are worth the risk of them even slightly blocking the airbags? Not sure about others but i actually like just the plan seats of modern cars, especially leather ones haha :P

  20. yes congrats Daryl much deserved!
  21. Aww Foss your all over this dude haha have put it up everywhere, ive hardly done anything :S ha
  22. Only differences are subtly cosmetic though?? leather interior, keyless entry etc...nothing different performance wise..... This is true, although apprently there is some extra bracing in ZR but things like the leather, dual zone climate front rear park assist Smart entry/ Smart Start 6way powered seats are great additions and features the XR6 doesnt have either, so in spec a SX6 would be closer to the XR6. But even then the SX6 has more specs in terms of safety.
  23. Lets swap. You can give me your ZR6 :P ahahahah mmmmm let me think about that justtttt for a second lol??? nope im good lol but nice true! but i love the blue way too much!
  24. aww well interesting that another XR6T wants an Aurion lol, i wanted TRD but had to settle for ZR6. Best of luck with your trade, biggest problem you'll face here is that just off the top of my head i think most Sportivo owners on here are ZR6 not SX6 i think :S sorry dude.
  25. holy crap that ism like omg the most awesomest thing in the world, sick as aids!fullllyy sick even bruv, MAN TALK ABOUT A EPIC FAIL! doesnt work for the rest of the car?? looks like somebody has punched a current shape Sportivo in the mouth and given it a fat lip lol and the rear is "sort of" a TRD style venturi style valance and built in exhaust tips and have the spoiler. Interesting but of kit, some bits look ok but over all doesnt seem to quite flow with the rest of the car
