  1. Lol but there's quite a few youngin's on here driving Aurion's cheif ? Society is substantially larger than TOCAU I would say. Whilst this is true. There's is a few on here so then it stands to reason that there's also plenty other young ones who just don't bother with the forums lol.
  2. i'm a thinking these were on route to Toyota Aust, my last visit there i was talking to a few of the guys about the FT86 and then they go and tell me that it along with the FJ Cruiser and LF-A is actually in the next room of the building! naturall i ask to can i see them... but they just LAUGHED and said no they can't even see it. Only when it coming and going do they get to see it. sad day ha
  3. Epic fail lol! why would you look at your taurus and think, HELLS YEAH that will be off it's face if i do this and that :S

  6. Wow that is a pretty tidy install, very nice. i have Rockford Fosgate too so i can appreciate the $$$ hanging off that board too! Good work
  7. Whoa really lol? :S well i also velcro'd the carpet to the board and the amp rack sits on it firmly too so it can't move tooo far at all. You have to give the sub a fair old yank and really reef on it to make it budge when your trying to get the damm thing out. love it!
  8. yerpp im the same, i used the widest strongest grip velcro i could find. my VIBE Sub has carpet on the enclosure so just stuck the velcro back to back and it has never moved a MM. LOl ask paradigm what happens when you leave your sub to float about in your boot :P As for the amps i have my bolted to board cut the shape of the back of the boot, covered in carpet to match the rest of the boot. have a look at my gallery for some images.
  9. yes welcome to the club and congrats on your Aurion purchase. Nice to see some more younger guys choosing Aurion over the usual boganmobiles(can we say that lol :S) Anyway look forward too seing how you mod and personalise your car.
  10. Yeah no wories Tom, and really this is no bigger dont be to worried, this is just Toyota been Toyota. After everything that has happened in the US this year they are just going all out to fix any little inperfections before they turn into something bigger.
  11. In a situation like this, lets say you made every change to your Sportivo that the TRD has so when you look at it bit by bit, it's pretty much a TRD in construction. At the end of the day, it's still not a TRD in my opinion, but others may think otherwise. That's my thoughts on the whole badging thing. But anyways, a badge is a badge. People can do as they wish. As much is its not a TRD, though, I see whacking on a TRD badge when its got TRD parts being no different to banging on an Ultra Racing or Alpine or whatever other brand sticker you happen to have gear from. The TRD badge isn't like, say a Subaru with 'tuned by STi' branding where there's actually been some inhouse aftermarket tuning done by STi. You can have your Sportivo or ATX or whatever functionally identical to a TRD just by banging on the bits. Yeah that's exactly how i see it. In actual fact Aurion and Hilux are the only cars in the entire world to leave a Toyota factory bearing a TRD badge. Remember what TRD is??? It’s not a production based hot up division like HSV, FPV, AMG, M-Division, Ralliart etc. It's simply Toyota's performance upgrade PARTS Division. So just like your example of having an Ultra Racing product on your car gives you every right to have an Ultra Racing sticker on it, any Toyota that bares an upgraded TRD part is also entitled to wear a badge or sticker? Seems fair enough doesn’t it?
  12. And then what would you say about the Denso ones that are in your Aurion at the moment? If it ain't broke, then don't fix it would be what I would say. And I see what you did in that other thread. You changed your mind and decided to service it yourself. Why the change of mind? thats a good question, i looked it up for myself once and it wasnt too bad much cheaper than the $140odd Scotta paid. Ill have a look tomorrow and see what i can do a set for. :) If you can do better than $118, then I need to make friends with another parts dealer On a side note, I'm glad that the TRD spark plugs are easier to change than the non-TRD. lol well ill do a few sums on it and see what we could let them go for and also what trade price is on them. Also i'd try and stay with DENSO if it's possible but then i do work for Toyota so it's kind of drummed into me lol
  13. yeah true, true. It's your car do what you like and what your happy with. At the end of the day it's your coin and car. a badge isnt going to make or break it, personalise it how you wish & screw the rest of the world lol.
  14. thats a good question, i looked it up for myself once and it wasnt too bad much cheaper than the $140odd Scotta paid. Ill have a look tomorrow and see what i can do a set for. :)
  15. mmm this tends to vary dealership to dealership some charge $10-25 to program a new master key and remote and then others charge nothing because we do it that often that it only takes a few minutes or even seconds in some cars cases (like remote on 20 series) Just depends on the dealer and the vehicle some can take a bit longer like Prado and Land cruiser and it can also depend on some individual vehicles. For example you can’t program remotes or master keys in certain models if things like the courtesy lights or door ajar light buzzer doesn’t work. Best to just go visit your dealer and even shop around if you have the option to do so :)
  16. Lol Scott you should of let me know you needed plugs i could of got them cheaper then that and sent them down to you! next time cheif!
  17. mmm well i have a TRD badge on the boot of my car, but that said other than the bodykit and supercharger my car has all the other main changes the TRD cars recieved.
  18. You could opt for the TRD/PBR brake package the TRD Aurion has? It’s actually not all that expensive to buy and i certainly noticed a big difference between the standard brakes and these ones, from pedal feel right through to shorter braking distances and much stronger retardation. Might be worth a look.
  19. Sportivo's have slightly lower springs/shocks that are harder in compression/rebound and have the same size sway bars but the Sportivo's have stronger solid bars. But th Sportivo's chassis is quite heavily braced, tower/cowl brace rear suspension braces and braces to the rear of the chassis and somewhere behind the seats too. All in all the Sportivo is a fair bit less floaty and is more solid on the road. The Interior is a bit different too. nicer more supportive seats, better steering wheel, a few more features plus has Smart start/entry. If you can afford to make the jump then go for it but no use in stretching yourself just for the sake of it. But to answer your question no in isolation just changes to Sportivo’s bars won’t change it into a Sportivo because as mentioned before the suspension is different and has a sharper stiffer stronger chassis, but if you can’t drop the coin on a ZR6 then maybe consider some of Ultra Racings products? These have being fitted from AT-X through to Sportivo and TRD and we all think there a bit of alright. Something to think about anyway :)
  20. Hi Guys just thought i'd share this with you. Just Like Aurion this one only affects the face lifted Camry model owners. Due to the sealing gasket composition, over a period of time under certain environmental conditions the possibility exists for the silver surfaces in the LED's in the rear combination lamps to experience corrosion. This is in under the influence of humidity and higher atmospheric temperatures, the gasket used to seal the open tale lamp and the vehicle body can emit small amounts sulpuric acid (H2S) Affecting the durability of the LED's. As a preventive measure Toyota Australia will conduct a customer service exercise to replace the RH & LH rear lamp Gasket. So nothing to major and affect vehicles built from 30th May 09 through to 14th Jan 2010. P/N:04000-51106 Please note that this DOES NOT involve/effect Hybrid Camry AHV40. Owners will start receiving letters from Toyota about it in the next couple of days. Hope this helps
  21. Ok so i have some more details now, there are two Customers service exercises so i was half right about one of them but they are nothing major at all and will only effect a small amount of Aurion owners. NO1. Engine Moving Control Rod Bolt: Engine vibration or knocking noise is evident under light to medium engine acceleration. Inspections have found that the No1 bolt on the engine moving control rod sub assy has been loose and under specified torque. Basically the dealer will see if the bolt is loose measure its torque and then tighten it back up to the rated torque level. If anybody is interested in more details or how to check and adjust to the proper torque level themselves then PM and i can talk toy through the instructions no worries. No2. Now this one only affects the face lifted model owners out there so stress less. So nothing to major and this last one only affect vehicles built from 25th June 09 through to 21st Jan 2010. P/N:04000-51206 Hope this helps. People will start receiving letters from Toyota about it in the next couple of days. As for the loose control rod it seems to be a few and far between problem so i doubt there will be much of an issue with this one. But ofcourse if you do hear noise that doesnt sound steering shaft related or feel a vibration and do find the rod a little loose then by all means contact your nearest dearler ASAP
  22. ermmm well no not quite. VSC/VDIM uses a complex series of sensors and the other safety aids such as TRC and ABS EBD BA to control and correct under/over steer whilst is does certainly makes the vehicle feel more secure and planted on the road and can help out in sticky situations in reality the thing that controls body roll is firstly your anti-roll/sway bar and secondly your suspension. 
  23. Are you trying to be Funny? Epic Fail And to adam maybe your right because my aurion is a prodigy and the other is an ATX and im talking on behalf of the ATX mm gotta get it checked tho, the front drive shafts have been replaced and all maybe is the ABS not to sure but thanks for your help yeah no worries fella, hope it helps!
  24. Thanks for the reply Adamsy. The two "plastic grommets?" that fitted through the carpet, that are supposed to hold the clips were broken off. Not real good on a car only 14 months old. This left only the two bare holes in the carpet. I have just come back from our Toyota dealer. They didn't have a listing for replacement grommets. The good news is there is an after market kit which they have ordered for me. (at about $7 each X 3 ((1 spare)) Cheers Tom No worries Tom, Happy to help. mmm not sure why they struggled to find it, i found it in under a minute lol. The carpet eyelet kit's P/N is 58510-FFDAB $6.50 each RRP The Floor Mat Clip P/N is 00206-00801 $1.65 each RRP
