  1. I'd suggest ringing the dealer to double check but in most cases what's written on your invoice is correct, reason for this is that the technician writes up the sticker and with all the different programs a dealer has it's not unreasonable for the tech to simply write the wrong kays down. e.g. even within service advantage there different time structures some car like Aurion are yearly or 15,000kms (under normal environments) where as other cars are 10,000kms or 6 months take into account all the different 3rd party warranties dealer have who have their own different service schedules that maybe be 6,9 or yearly you can see that unless the tech is really thinking about the vehicle and which program the car currently running (service advantage, third party ones like harrier or some other or if it’s just a normal service) then it’s not hard to see that they may get the months or kays wrong. :)
  2. wow three days really? i can't see why if your dropped your car off first thing in the morning and left it there till close of business why the couldn’t get that done, that's a reasonable amount of work for people to do when the buy a car second-hand around this mileage that has towed and when you’re not sure of its service history etc so can't see why that’s too much of a drama day and half maybe but three???
  3. Hey mate, i can’t say whether this is the norm with the entire dealer network or if it comes down to each dealers individual dealer management software system but ours actually brings up any outstanding recalls/ customer service exercises campaigns that haven’t already been carried out on the vehicle. Failing that service advisors using the vin can find out if there’s anything out there at affects your vehicle :)
  4. 2GR-FE : K&N Typhoon provided no gain (regardless of external temperature) when compared to a stock intake with the snorkel removed. The snorkel think I am referring to is that curved piece of plastic that joins up to the section above the radiator. I don't entirely think removing the snorkel in the first place provided any gain if I was to give my personal opinion. 2GR-FZE : Same as above statement, however removing the snorkel on it's own I believe provided an initial gain. Prior to removing it, under WOT at high revs you could actually hear the restriction. Changing from that setup to the intake I have (not a properly designed one though) did not make any further difference. That said, the 2GR-FE sounds wicked with an intake. The FZE doesn't have as deep of a roar, but the S/C likes to scream a little. I can't comment for the Fujita kit though if that makes any difference. Haven't noticed anything that I can measure by feel. I do notice the effects on hot 35 degree + days though, but this is more from extra heat produced by the S/C. thanks as always for the info, i took the ZR6 to the motorsport shop today, was the first one they had looked at and didn’t seem fazed by it at all, seemed to think there is gains to be had by fitting the extractors and fixing the y bend, in fact they were quite keen to fix that and extend the fix right back to the flange on the resonator.. yep delete that cat completely... anyway there going to look into the options available form monkey wrench racing including CAI and come back to me but they didn’t seem to turned off by the sensors or how hard the task would be, they said some parts would be difficult but you'd be surprised at how easy modern cars can be to work on if you know what you’re doing and once you get right in there.. in fact there enthusiasm and lack of hesitation in regards to the fitting up changing and not tripping of sensors was actually i don’t know? Un-nerving when i have a fair idea from other guys on here that’d have fiddled that this power train can be a bit of a biatch to tweak lol. anyways see what they come up with but if anybody can get some good results without too much drama I’d trust these fella's everyday of the week! I think everyone would be interested if there is a way to get past the sensor thing + removing the main cat ( thought this was illegal) would be impressed with just getting away with removing both pre cats. yeah they didn’t seem to concerned about the sensors at all, and to be honest when i looked around the place and some of the projects on the go I’m really not surprised, forester that’s had 300k dropped on it lancer EVO's everywhere getting tarmac rally prepped, BMW E39 (think it was anyway) 5 series 6 getting turbocharged which was neat as work. same place that takes care of White Hot Motorsports Targa Winning Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Super Trofeo, Palmers "outlaw" powerboat, really the place to go for anything like this in Tas, but yes your right taking the main cat out is illegal so i will just get a "low profile" high flow cat put there instead to keep it legal :)
  5. 215/55R17. Well you could get a spare 19 inch wheel, but realistically, how often do you think you will use it? I would personally just keep your stock Sportivo alloy and just use it as a spare for temporary use. Besides, if you go for a wider wheel, your spare wheel cover in the boot isn't going to fit like it currently does. yeah your spot i, the only reason i was looking at getting another 19 was because i thought TRD ran a skinny space saver therefore didn’t do any research into my 17 wheel because i thought the rolling diameter would be miles different so would "skitz" the car out if i used it with three other 19's and yes that’s the very reason i had been a little lazy about getting another 19 because it would sit a good inch and about higher than the stock one in the boot, which would look a bit crap and also be a pain.
  6. wow i thought they had fixed all these little issues with the facelift car, couple of new Sportivo’s I’ve driven they felt a little better no noticeable squeaks or creaks however i have noticed on every new Sportivo the rubber protection that goes around the body kit in particular the front bar by the "air dam" hasn’t been finished off properly just hangs there on two cars now I’ve poked it where it should go and it sat perfectly just weird all the ones I’ve looked at have been like it though and on the same side but other than that they did see t be put together a bit better than "series one" with perhaps the exception of the touring model which do seemed to of had a few minor dramas with we put a whole new dash in one and when i looked at another touring its dash wasn’t finished off all the good either. But Presara and Sportivo over all did seem to be a better jigger! Whats that IS350 when the day comes to update?
  7. You mean this 'space saver'? Still a Camry 17x7 alloy: MM i must admit i can't remember now, it happened at the end of the day so it was pretty much wacked on the car taken back to work and fixed so wasn’t on the car long, i do remember it been yellow but don’t recall the spokes? Though it was "solid" like a Rukus space saver? And much skinnier than 7.0 but as i said i really didn’t take that much notice :P Which reminds me, i must get on to getting a spare 19inch wheel for a spare , but if your spare is a Camry 17x7 with I’m assuming 215/55 R17 rubber? That’s the same as my Spare Sportivo alloy and i run the exact same rim and tyre size as TRD so in theory if i had too could i run the Sportivo rim as a spare couldn’t i?
  8. The standard 17's will fit over the TRD brakes. So much so, the spare wheel in the TRD is a 17 inch Camry wheel. Oh yes that's right they do, we had to put the 17in spare on our demo after a trip to symmmons but that had a space saver? but it was a 3500S so maybe SL's got a full size spare?
  9. well there we are then, well agree the brake package was fitted on NSW "pursuit" cars, i knew it was one of them but couldnt remember which one lol . im not 100% sure but i wonder if the Sportivo's chase cars run 18inch Kappa wheels or some other 18inch whees as im not sure the standard 17's can accomdate the bigger rotors and callipers?
  10. Thats strange nobody else with the update model has ever complained about the rattles and sqeaks thats seem to inflict a good percentage of the "series one" cars. and first i've heard abouts sqeaks coming from the auto tilting mirror??
  11. Whilst it's true they did have some TRD in there fleet there was one state and it was either QLD or NSW who had Aurion's as standard patrol cars, but started using Sportivo's as pursuit/highway cars but in testing the standard brakes failed the repeated high speed brake test (was designed to simulate repeated stop at traffic lights and the like from high speeds)
  12. yeah there really trying to take you for a ride thats for sure, give you 25k and out it on the lot for $40,990. i can think of two ZR6's that have been traded at work in the last couple of months the first a 07 wildfire one with sunroof with 28000kms on it and they got 25 or 26k for that and another 07 wildfire with 38000kms who would of got 23 -24 for that one so you should easily as be in the mid 30's with sunroof, satnav? and kappas. ripping you off big time, whats redbook say?
  13. I'm not too sure about it being a pursuit car, I could have a look and find out the brakes that came with the car and reference them to a standard Aurion, see if they differ Mmm basically the upgraded brake package that was used on the highway pursuit cars in QLD/NSW were pretty much the larger PBR rotors and callipers that was fitted to the TRD car, fair to say they wouldn’t have TRD on them or be painted red but the calliper and rotors are quite visually bigger also the calliper is aluminium so wouldn’t be hard to tell the difference just but looking, but if you’ve driven more than one Aurion before you would know if your car had the bigger brakes or not, i have them o n my car and the pedal feel is much better and the brakes have stronger retardation and they really drop the car on its noise, bloody good things!
  14. Paradigm has a single DIN unit in her ZR6, have alook through his pics. :)
  15. awesome best colour in the range (not that i'm biased or anything :P) welcome to the club look forward to seeing your future mods!
  16. You'd actually be surprised the amount of time it takes to install these, they virtually pull 3/4 of your dash apart and all the trim covers, drill holes and neatly run cables, mount LED's then put it all back together in such a way as you the customer would never know it's been pulled apart. There's easy a couple of hours in it.

  18. lol there actually made in Australia :) No way!?! If that's the case, then I think either China Made stuff has had an exponential quality improvement to be comparable to Australian Made stuff, or Australian Made stuff has made a similarly spectacular decline to be even comparable to China Made.........? If it's Australian made, it doesn't seem very HQ. It feels comparable to generics from China (minus the Aurion wording of course) which you can buy on eBay for a few bucks. It'd be surprising if it's true, and a bit disappointing too. It's getting so hard to find quality stuff nowadays.... BB. Well i believe they are, the majority of accessories are made here in Australia for design rule reasons i would think, but will check once i get back to work, other than they would be "converted in Australia with imported parts" I’ve seen that on the odd part here and there too.
  19. After all the unavoidable driving I have had to do over the last couple of months, a CAI is definitely out of the question. It gets dirty enough in the engine bay. Glad I didn't go that option. As well considering I had no choice but to drive though some water the other day. yeah that's a fair point, so with your experience on both the 2GR-FE and 2GR-FZE is there any performance gain to be had by using the K&N or fujita systems or is it purely just for a nicer note? Also do you have any heat sink issue with your set up since your note running any sheild on this set up?
  20. Its just another way for the government to sting us for our hard earned dollars. lol GOVT's just suck when it comes to automotive laws haha
  21. Yeah for sure they compliment each other very well and do seem to offer great bang for your buck, i for one am very pleased i fitted these to my car!
  22. DJ, for some reason i thought you was running a CAI in the TRD?
  23. Hey and welcome to TOCAU, i have spoke to a few different places about supercharging the Aurion these places included Eaton(who of course was TRD's supplier) and another company whose name slips my mind but they was the Rotrex dealer, anyway they had a ECU piggyback to get around the ECU drama, i just had to get the intake manifold(which i could of got dirt cheap too silly me :( ) and the injectors and pulley assy and belt, the price didn’t work out too badly especially if i could of picked up a genuine supercharger off one of the boys here who bought one with plans of s/c there Sportivo’s but never got around to it. but i weighed it up and decided it was maybe a bit of an unknown and no doubt there’d be something else I’d need so put the idea aside especially when i seen the gains a set of headers and "CAI" can give an Aurion which would more than satisfy my power needs. But if you give it a crack then best of luck :)
  24. Clearly this is Sydney City Toyota, just another Dealership starting to make a move onto Ebay, once upon time it used to be an avenue for some dealers to try and move some redundant or dead stock but now it seems the norm to be selling line items on there, make a sale however you can i guess. Good on them I can't be any more honest than to say there pricing structure is sitting somewhere between trade and RRP, time you add shipping your easily back around if no exceeded RRP, this may work well if you live in or around Sydney but if not I’d suggest just visiting your local dealer :)
