  1. i guess back in 06 the Aurions power/weight blew the commodore and falcon into the weeds so it didn’t need any more power to be competitive in it's class it was clearly the quickest and most refined - still is... but the Aurion is sort of one of those cars that when you drive you go "geez goes alright doesn’t it" and after a while leaves you wanting more because it's quick not fast! It really needs more torque. 336nm (343nm on 98) aren’t really stellar figures from a modern high-tech 3.5 DOHC Duel VVT-i V6 that produces over 200kw especially when peak torque comes in pretty late in the piece. It's just lucky that the U660E is a pretty handy thing and can keep the engine on the boil pretty well. But more torque would be a good thing i think! mmmm headers haha
  2. Yeah there is something wrong with your Camry there... Aurion’s return much better fuel efficiency than that and you get much more g.o for it too... What was your previous car to the Camry though? I quite often drive a Camry Sportivo at work and i find i get better figures from my Aurion, purely because I have to work the Camry's 2AZ much harder than the Aurion's 2GR to get the same sort of performance and I’m not even talking caning the car here either just normal town driving and highway kms on/off ramps. It's a alotta car for 117kw.. Your car is probably 2 litres more than it should be. You’ve checked the normal things, air/fuel filter wacked a bottle of injector cleaner through?
  3. Does the 2GR-FZE run higher compression or anything? But yes Toyota/TRD are pretty vocal when it comes to the fuel used in TRD's it they strictly say say98 not even 95! 98 or nothing! It’s not uncommon for S/C engines to be more efficient than a N/A one. The TRD lux also uses less fuel than the standard 175kw 1GR-FE in SR5.
  4. Ok, I dont know much about the Michelin Tyres that come stock with the Aurion. I havent come across anyone complain about those tyres here as yet (Unless i missed it) lol this could be because the michelin energy tyres would be oen of the first things people would give the boot too! they last for ever but are noisy and dont really hand;e the Aurion power very well and squirl and carry on in corners where other tyres arent fazed at all lol nasty stuff! after driving Camry Sportivo between out two dealerships on roads i drive on quite often (two major cities NW Tassie) i could not belive how average the tyres were going down off ramps and around large round abouts they were squealing thereheads off and i wasnt even really pushing the car that hard it took me a little while to figure it was coming from the camry, then i laughed and thought to myself glad i p!ssed these things off lol
  5. mm this is a bit of a strange one?? The Sportivo's can be a little be harsh and "jolty" at low speeds but more than acceptable at normal road speeds but that’s the price you pay for composure but yeah nobody has ever had a problem with the luxury spec suspension so i would say this is a individual car issue and not one of the breed?
  6. aww man this has brought the hugest smile to my face lol what a weapon well done!
  7. RIGHT LET ME AT THEM! As far as warranty stands this is how it goes' no if's no butts its black and white! IF the accessory has been fitted by the dealer at the time of purchase then you receive the FULL 3years warranty. IF the accessory has been fitted by the dealer later on in the vehicles life whether it be a day later a month 6months a year whatever then you will get a one year unlimited kms warranty. However on certain items if you fit it yourself or have another workshop fit it then you may have no warranty at all as Toyota cannot guarantee the workmanship of non qualified technicians.... The reason that genuine parts and accessories are so expensive is because Toyota between 1.6 to 2.0 million bucks A MINUTE ON R&D and testing on parts vehicles and accessories these tests go way beyond the ADR specs a good example of this is that on one particular vehicle when they was making the new bulbar for it, it was designed and built met ADR then Toyota got it hands on it and wasn’t happy with the way it performed it didn’t meet its new stringent standards so it was back to the drawing board! Also It costs a fortune to house these parts and ship/fly/truck them around the country all day every day! Were also very lucky in Toyota land to still be able to get parts and accessories for cars that are more than a decade old. very few brands can do this let alone still supply parts for vehicles from 80's! Still cost Toyota the same to make that part god no doubt even more now than it did then and sells in fewer numbers so of course this drives the individual parts price up BUT at least you can still get them! and honestly you'd be surprised by how competitive some genuine products are. It’s always worth checking out with your dealers first.
  8. haha sweet as looks good as cheif, have the xmas parade tonight but ill try and get some tiem to check it out before i go away!
  9. Funny you should say that, coz..... Yeah. Take that. :P oh what son of a biacth when did this happen lol? midnight during the week no doubt?
  10. ok so if you have at look at my gallery you'll find a few pics of the product. must admit i rushed this one a bit and plan on taking more care and time on the other doors but it has come up good you can only really see the film once your up close to the car. i doube you would see it at all on a white Aurion :)
  11. arghh man yeah a CVT really takes away any driver input you can have in a semi automatic gearbox, really wouldnt fit so well with Aurion espically the Sportivo model, atleast with the U660E you can half tell it what to do lol
  12. In addition to paradigm's piano black finish interior, we have had a play around with th standard trim colour in my car and have now got that to have a gloss finish aswell. for images of the finished product have a look in gallery :)
  13. mmmmm it would probably cost very little for Toyota to use the 2GR-FSE direct/port injection engine because it would be mass produced for the Aurion and possible kluger/Rav4 V6. If they was to use the FSE engine it would be for efficiency reasons more so than performance. No doubt they would do much like what Holden has done with the HFV6 SIDI 3.6 Alloytec engine and “de tune” it, that engine in caddy spec makes 227kw but "only" 210kw in Commodore so I’d say it's safe to say that if Aurion see's the FSE engine we wouldn’t get the full 233Kw whack! would want to protect the IS350's place in the range and place can you imagine that sort of power going to the front wheels of an AT-X on 16in steelies? Would be nice though if they made the Sportivo model more special and gave it 10kw's or more just even for bragging rights lol
  14. arghhhh man this just makes me feel lazy for not getting around to doing this yet :( although not as lazy as a certain other member with a white ZR6 who has it sitting in his garage ready to go.... haha
  15. Ok im a hearing that Camry will be Oct/Nov/Dec 2011 with HSD Camry and Aurion to follow a few months later in Jan/Feb 2012.
  16. hey a few people have asked so i have put some pics up of the FJ Cruiser on my Gallery check the big weapon out!

  17. lol yep thats a good option, go with that one :) :)
  18. Yup will let you know if i do get to know about it. But im pretty sure they are going to turn back at me and say it doesnt exist because they wouldnt bother trying. Should check with people who have Aurions in other countries too. Lol it's there but it's just one of those things where you just have to hope you get somebody who is pretty handy with the I.T, not many techs ever get the chance to plug one into a car and go through all the folders headings and sub menu's to find all these little things. Anyway see how you go fella’s.
  19. Yeah sure it if you want your D4D to rattle ping and carry on to the point of it been embarrassing then by all means use it... Toyota has never recommended the use of jet stream in D4-D or the D4-S engines. Hence as to why it was discontinued and the new formula brought on line which has the tag line now formulated for D4 series engine. Anyway it won't be an issue anymore because jet stream is a thing of the past and has been for 3 or 4 months so I’d doubt any dealer would have any left on the shelves.
  20. Hi Guys, Not at this stage Toyota don’t offer these other products, you can however find these products at most auto tinting places or at auto pin striping shops. You can even get your entire front bumper and bonnet done these days. i have seen an entire front bar done on an ZR6 and i didn’t even notice it until the owner pointed it out. MzMinty, I would have to say no this is a brand new product just released so i would be surprised if your car has it on it. Cheap buy though my arrived on the weekend i plan to put them on over the weekend ill get some happy snaps for everybody
  21. hey mate :) No Aurion also has this feature however and unfortunately unless you a Toyota IT handy you can do it yourself :( it's hidden away in the computer along with other things such as how dark or light it is before your Auto on headlamp come on. So you can have this feature turned on and from memory 15sec 30sec 45 sec or a minute. Mention it next time you get your Aurion serviced and I’m sure they can fix that up for you :)
  22. Well a good place to start is always to go to the source? id first pull the head unit out and simply see if the fronts and tweeter have been disconnected and if that looks all good then try the other end at the speakers? if that doesn’t solve your problems then it may be possible that those channels on the head unit are head :( could always get it tested but if it's been a police car it could be as simple as they’ve been disconnected although I’m not sure as to why?? Is your SX6 an updated Aurion? if not then its a dead easy answer.. There isn’t one lol. However if you do a quick search there is a link that can help you install one into tour Aurion fairly easily and its pretty cheap too :)
  23. Just did a leavers dinner then took my car too work to swap for a work hiace so i can go straight from home tomorrow and god damm lol what rude abrupt change lol but all is good as i get to see and drive the FJ Cruiser tomorrow ner ner ner hha

  24. TRD Aurion does ever so slightly run a bit more negative camber on the front just to aid the car on turn in but it’s that minor its train spotter stuff. Not sure about the rear but positive camber would make the rear of the car turn better but of course all this comes at the price of tyre wear so really you have to try and find that happy medium. On my 19's i run a slight amount of negative camber on the front for the same reasons the TRD does and have the rear tyres pretty well dead flat or neutral also run a camber kit in the rear of mine along with rotating the tyres often I’m finding it steers and handles sweetly and wearing tyres quite evenly.
  25. hey yeah no worry fellas, thought this was a worth whie thing that a few guys might be interested in :) i bought two sets!
