  1. Hey Guys, Just thought i'd bring a new accessory to everybodies attention. We all have that problem of our other (better??) halves scratching the crap out of the paintwork under the door handles with there rings and looongg nails yeah? Toyota feels your pain haha so they have released a new protective film which comes in a set of four which simply sticks behind the door handle. very similer he film you can buy for your headlamps/bumpers these days. P/N: PZQ31-00020 pretty cheap too i think! $19.50 More infor here. paint protection
  2. Tyre pressure is really a bit of personal thing and everybody has a different opinion on it, also other things like your suspension tune, comfort (At-X, Prodigy & Presara) or Sports (Sportivo & TRD) and the size of your wheels can also affect how much air you choose to have in them. Most owners agree that somewhere around 35-38 Psi of pressure is the most ideal amount of air to be running.
  3. We use an electronic rust protection module on the vehicles we send to king island can’t remember the things exact name but the company is an offshoot of wynns i believe and essentially it puts a negative charge through the body/chassis. Now rust particles can’t easily form on something that has a negative charge though it. People on king island swear by these products :)
  4. yeah im the same as pah, ive used kitten on all of my cars :)
  5. CVT's have an infinite gear set, in fact unlike a normal auto or manual where the revs and speeds dictate the gear your in 1-6 a CVT power train’s engine never changes revs it’s the gear ratio's that keep changing. Pretty interesting stuff to look into
  6. Ok, excuses for the reply on this topic that already had a complete thread on the forum. So that means that this topic will be merged/closed by the Moderators? Lol give it time and im Sure Daryl (DJKOR) will either close it or merge it with the orignial thread which every he decides is the best way to go about it :)
  7. injector cleaner there we go guys a complete thread that was mostly dedicated to injector cleaners. :)
  8. lol Well i always try and bring the car to a complete stop before changing through the gearbox but then i tend to baby my car a little bit too with these kind of things lol. As for lifting off whilst in Sports mode, i think most people especially those with "Series one" transmission ECU's do this for those reasons you mentioned above. Series two ECU's are a little bit more clued on quicker and smoother but i still find myself doing the same sometimes too, don’t think it's bad for the transmission. Never seen a car has a problem because of it and if it was a no no Toyota being Toyota would be quick to slap a sticker somewhere telling you not to :)
  9. ummm i'd actually say it's unlikely as the recall is quite a new one and parts supply on came on line the last few weeks so as long as you have filled out the change of owner slip(found in the front or back of your owners manual or service book) and returned it to TMCA you should receive a letter very soon advising that you need to book in to have these parts replaced. :)
  10. So p!ssed, got the nail taken out of my tyre today and had my wheels balanced and theyve managed to scratch, scrap and chip large chunks out of my wheels! and stuck the wheel weights were you could see them and didnt bother to remove the old adhesive from the old weights! USELESS!

Oh man, i would go back and chuck the sh*ts at them. I would ask for compensation or at least go to a wheel repair place and get a quote to fix them, then take it to the tire shonks. I would go ballistic!

  11. back from the east coast, awesome cruise and weekend!

  12. crap?? i'd like to think that everybody is running atleast "93" speed rated tyres? otherwise your basically screwed????
  13. Wheel Brand/Design: Advanti Gauntlet Wheel size: 19Inch Wheel width: 8.5 Wheel offset: +45 If I'm not Mistaken Tire size: 245/35 ZR19 93Y Falken FK452 Directional Suspension type: Standard Sportivo Chassis bracing, TRD Aurion Shock Absorbers, TRD Springs from the US of A. Ultra Racing 19mm roll bar and Strut Tower Brace, Peddars front/Rear Camber bolts. Feedback: Turns in sharply, corners flat and allows you too use a few more of those killer wasps more often. FK452's have tonnes of grip in both the wet and dry a little noisy for the first few thousands kays but soons settles down after that.
  14. I think the effects of the incorrect gasket may be more apparent than that. Both tail-lights in our facelift model fill up with soapy bubbles every time I wash the vehicle. We don't have water in the spare wheel well however. The gap created in ours must be significant as there is a family of spiders that have set up home in the drivers side light I've looked at two others I've come across and both had the same 'high tide' marks left by water ingress. This recall has nothing to do with leaky lamps so it's not designed to fix the issue as that is an indivual car issue not all cars fill up with water. i have no dramas on the right side but do have some codensation on the left. We have had to repace the lens on one other Sportivo so if your lenses are filling up with water then get these replaced under warranty would be the best fix?
  15. It’s pretty strange to have a smaller size tyre on the front of an Aurion it's not uncommon for this to be the case on a powerful RWD but not the norm on the Aurion in fact I’m surprised it hasn’t thrown an error code on the dash. Toyota Recommends 225/40 ZR18's for the Kappa accessory wheel so if you’re going for 18inch wheels that's probably a good size to go with but as for it being to wide that’s not really true as the TRD as do many of us here with 19in or bigger wheels wear 245 wide rubber.
  16. It most likely will :P Nah if you only bought your car a month ago that would mean unless it's a demo it would only be a few months old at the most so it would have the problem fixed at the factory. Doubt this car has the potential issue.
  17. No worries Conrod im always happy to help but it is nice to hear other find my posts useful and enjoyable to read so thanks. Guess the Big T got it right after all ha ha. Once these new gaskets are fitted it should not be able to occur again, the circumstances for it to happen in the first place be quite rare and random as. This is just Toyota going over the top knocking small issues on the head before they become anything larger. After what happened in the US they are being very picky and carful for example it’s been noticed that the gear shifter in Hybrid Camrys can get warm at night due to the heat from the bulb so in some cars they are changing this to solve the issue nothing big and not something anybody would worry about but this just goes to prove there keen to get it right. BEEP BEEP, look at the actual build date of your Aurion (located on the left hand rear door dogleg) if it's built after Jan 21st then this fix has been implemented on your vehicle at Altona so you don’t need to worry.
  18. lol is that the foam seal behind the mirror or have you chipped the corner already? better not of done otherwise that day was a complete fail haha. Anybody else wants this done send them down to paradigm we had great fun fulling the mirror apart and putting it back together hay? hahahahahha

  20. What's on your mind?I'm Baccckkkk!

  21. Its a bit each to their own really. Personally I prefer my amps in my boot. If you work it right you can make it take up bugger all space.' Eg, the setup in my old car. Will be doing something similar in the Aurion. Theres an idea free from me to you, too Amaro, if you really wanna compact it. That box was about 2" deep and there was no more than 4" space behind it. The Mighty Lancer ah? mmm looks tidy but 4" of space though? I seen your subs they'd need more cubic air space than 4" could give surely? Wouldnt be quite operating in the most ideal enviroment? Still got the Second Amp?
  22. Off to Syd for national finals tomorrow, keen as!

  23. that's actually pretty cheap for a towbar package, usually around 1k mark for a Hilux etc. Aurion is a bitch of a car you actually need to take the whole rear section of the car to bolt it up, usually the time consuming part but just mounting thebar isnt much fun in this case either. the harness system very much intergrates into the rest of the Aurion loom. as for cutting the bumper with no template? that's a no go i strongly would discourage you from doing this. Really id suggest if your going to be towign then to do it right get the genuine bar and fit is up right :)
  24. Adamsy

    Phat snaps!

Hey thats where we had the snowball fight and worked out what we was actually driving on was simply ice, greeattt day well except for a certain Maloo driver lol
