  1. You’d think by now all they states could come up with a uniformed law on headlamps, fog lamps and DRL’s so everybody knew where they stood wouldn’t you? Here in Tas RACT actually encourages you to use your headlamp during the day so you stand out more on the road and on a national level there one day a year can’t remember the date i know it’s in Nov or Dec though where your encouraged to turn your lamps on in memory of those who died in road accidents, why the hell are different levels of govt saying different things? Or why is it ok to use them on a certain day? Then there is huge fark up that is DRL’s we have a family friend with an E3 HSV who gets pulled over and questioned and asked to turn them off quiet often. SO there seen as “illegal” here (unless from factory which HSV’s are) in this country because they can stun other drivers where as on the other side of the world its illegal and your car isn’t road worthy if you don’t have them, are we behind times here or what?
  2. No. no your quite correct, the mat is designed and cut to match the Aurion in both shape colour and appearance just like you said as opposed to the multi-fit mats you find at supercheap, autobahn etc which will no doubt not quite fit correctly in either length or width. Only alteration id like to make to the genuine mats and this is something i have wrote on a few surveys they send out to staff about accessories would be a small "scuff plate" section in the centre of the mat where you sit your heel, as eventually you tend to leave a wear mark in your mats that look a bit sad :( Other than that I’d love a few colour options in the passengers cars , LEVIN SX/ZR, Camry and Aurion Sportivo like what Holden do with their SS mats for example, have a blue car you can get the binding on your mats done in blue that sort of thing, just something to break up the charcoal colour in most of the cars.
  3. yep huge difference, you flat as a tack through the twisties and pulling away, me felt like a rowboat (understeer, body roll)just for work probably not worth getting one but when we go on cruises Im left behind. HA yeah it was really interesting to see the difference in the cars through St Marys, was epic fun glad we got rid of that SV6 though before we started the road, well that is some of us anyway aye Foss? haha Still i can't shake the image of that AWD coupe squirming and getting sideways every second corner in front of me, good trip!
  4. This be a good question, off the top of my head it's around $84.00 for normal Aurion ones with the Sportivo ones being almighty $1 or 2 more. Certainly are not north of $100 for Aurion mats. I'm on Holidays working on my Second job aboard a cruise liner (yep you guessed it tough life!)for a few weeks but when i return to work ill get an exact price for you. Whilst rubber is by far easier to keep clean it doesn’t look as nice as the carpet or finish the car off especially in the Sportivo and Presara models plus with all the sticky accelrator and mat snagging stuff going on in America Toyota has taken the view that any non Genuine Floor mats that don’t have the floor lugs (which has recently had a design change) will be removed from your car and put in the boot with a nice tag placed on your rear view mirror. if you can afford the genuine mats id suggest going that way. :)
  5. Lol well that's good that you've managed to find some, but really what car are they off over there?
  6. Hey Fella :) Just do it, the front bar is a great thing and you will notice a difference for sure probably more so with the luxury spec suspension tune than other with a Stivo/TRD. You should notice less axle tramp flatter cornering and sharper turn in. We’ve seen a real world experience of the difference these bars can make. Same road same day. there was my car with both the tower bar and anti roll bar (plus a few other things that would make a difference lower suspension bigger rubber etc) Paradigm's ZR6 which has the front bar and Scottataxi's SX6 which is stock and the difference was quite measurable on that road arrr was good fun haha
  7. nahh the genuine pads have twice the "meat" on them when compared to bendix pads. brand new bendix's look half warn compared to stock pads. This is why you will rarely see Hilux or Landcruiser owners put anything else in there vehicles other than genuine pads, aftermarket ones just dont last as long. sure some expensive aftermarket pads may have better heat tollerance or better pedal feel but in a normal non high peformance road car that probably isnt a concern they just dont compare to Toyota Genuine.
  8. mmmm, i cant see how pictures of the new car that’s still a year away could land in dealers hands? And mules getting about (and they would be) would be disguised to the hilt still! Toyota would be horrified to find dealers throwing around even early drafts of the next model of anything. I can’t see how an entirely new car could still look anything like the current car? Its all new from the ground up, especially the Camry which receives the new 2.5 line 4 engine. Wait six months until mules start appearing in motor and wheels mag then well see what it’s like. O WAIT sorry it's a Toyota it will only see one tiny corner stashed somewhere in the book where nobody reads lol
  9. LOL im just going to write what everybody is thinking, why is this in the Aurion section and not the Corolla one? if you have tried different head units with the same result perhaps try taking the head unit out and connecting another aerial, that way if it clears the problems you know its the antenna that needs replacing in your car and not a head unit issue or vice-versa if the problem persists, your dealer should of probably worked that out when they put a new head unit in your car but got the same result lol? good luck with it all though :)
  10. Oh and yeah many dealer warranties that come with used cars tend to only cover the major things and up to the value of $3000 per problem/issue, you can of course upgrade to a premium package for some coin but an even better option is to find a car that has had the 6 year warranty ticked from new :)
  11. hi and welcome to the club, yes you'll notice were a pretty supportive club with plenty of free flowing info, is regarded as one of the better owners club kicking about. You really can’t go to wrong with the Aurion, Mazda 6 and accord are both fine cars but if you’re looking for something that actually can move its **** than there not for you. Aurion is a great choice as they do offer al the tradition Toyota benefits over their Australian rivals plus not mention the quickest most refined N/A six. There are no real issues with Aurion and by now the little niggles would of been fixed under warranty however some of these niggles to look out for are a dash rattle that appears to either come from behind the glove box or where the dash meets the windscreen. Make sure there is a recall sticker on the A pillar where you open the driver’s door this is to prove the VVT-i oil pipe has been replaced. some transmission seem to do this flaring thing occasionally but again cars that exhibited this issue would of had the new "series 2 update" ECU put in them but other than that they seem to be pretty bulletproof. It sounds like you tend to look after your cars so im doubtful the Aurion would give you any sleepless night and if your Magna owner than I’m sure having over 200kw heading to the front won't worry you. As for Colours i guess it's really a personal thing, not sure about your area but there are ALOT of silver Sportivo's in my area so personally would have one just for that reason. There are two blue colours available Caribbean (colour of my car which there was only a limited number of Sportivo ZR6's made in) and reef which is that "teal" sort of colour. But yeah really a personal thing.
  12. Maybe im Hard driving :D when you driving fast with your car then you need to use your brakes more . by the way if i just find the Part Number of Geniune Toyota Brake pads then it will help me alot cuz Toyota is big company with alot products then i can search for it easier . Plus i asked about comparing the brake pads with mine but my locally Toyota Dealer said if we open the orginal box of new brake pads then i must pay for it if its not fit to my car cuz it seems they are used for them therfore i can just write the part numbers and compare it with the exact part numbers of Aurion Presara . Im still searching .... lol when i was needing to use the brakes more i went and got bigger brakes ? What was i thinking haha. As DJKOR has mentioned you really are going to struggle with this as I’ve said these are pads made for the spec of our car and its export market which America is not one of, only thing that may run in your favour is that if you give the dealer the part number they may be available ex Japan or maybe able to cross reference the number to one of their own or a supersession but as i said failing this you will need to just bite the bullet and get a set posted over. Have you tried all the global brake pad brands?
  13. LOL @ the BA XR6T driver, you might have 240kw but they mean sh!t through the bends! and weirdly it didnt pull away from me on the highway, my old one must of just been feral cause that was muchh quicker than the Aurion..

    1. Pah

      Pah

      But still a ford lol

    2. Adamsy

      Adamsy

lol it was a dud! everything that could go wrong did go wrong, sad cause man it hauled and looked good with the silver ascents it had

  14. Just curious though, why does a 2010 car need new pads already? should get 90,000 - 100,000kms kms easy out of set of Genuine Aurion pads!
  15. Righto, you could slip Aust Built ACV40 pads into a GSV40 as there PBR supplied Caliper is near as makes no difference the same however the US spec runs a different brand of Caliper so the pad would be different so in short I’m doubtful it would fit your Presara.. Best thing to do if you have the time and tools would be to slip one pad out of your car and go get it compared to the US Camry or Avalon pad, Failing this and not been able to match up an aftermarket pad you may have to either get a dealer from Australia or a company like RallySport to send a set over to you or get a family member or friend who still lives here to pick you up a set and send them over. Other than that i think you may struggle a bit as PBR are an Australian company supplying components to the Australian built cars and there export markets.
  16. It's pretty awesome to see that Aurion owners take their cars on road trips to really test them and see what they can really do. Just goes to show not all Toyota's are white goods, Paradigm, Scootataxi and I are lucky enough to have some of the best roads in the country on our door steps. We’ve covered roads like the Lyell "highway", Mt Arrowsmith, Poatina, Tasman "highway" and St Marys pass There’s some pictures on my gallery of our trips for those who are interested :)
  17. arghhhh why do we horse racing cups? we just get over dressed and drink in the sun and gamble :S GREAT DAY! keen for slep now though ha

  18. Much the same way our optional accessory one does, that is that there is a wireless sensor mounted on the inside of each rim including the spare, this has been proven to give the most reliable information and the Toyota system not only does pressures and alarms when pressure is too high or low but also can give a temperature read out on each tyre too.
  19. Wouldn't mind these things, although if I really wanted the remote engine start I would've forked out and got a sportivo. The On/Off button for the VSC/TRC system sounds nice but I've only had to turn off TRC 3 times, all of which was me being an idiot ;) The tyre monitoring is nice, but I check them regularly anyway Would definitely like paint protection film unless it faded the bonnet/bumper slower than the rest of the car, and I'm not sure what security system is standard over here. Oh nahh i think your confusing the remote start for Smart entry/smart start which is the key fob you just keep on you and the starter button that the ZR6, Presara and 3500SL has?? remote start is where you push a button on the key and the car starts as your walkinh toeards it, handy if your into robbing banks or running from a gangs lol <_<
  20. i know the screens your referring too from the 150 series Prado and there just the clip on the head rest style as opposed to the ones actually on the head rest, locally think Holden Caprice. And they work out fairly expensive because you have to get the dual system which involves a few different bits and pieces. I too would like the tyre pressure system especially with 19in wheels. when i first got the car i looked at getting the system then seen one installed at work and went errr nah hate where the screen sits, if it could be put somewhere else id live with it. then a month or go as we did a nice road trip down the east coast and i got a nail in my right rear and of course was worried about it for the rest of the trip even though i checked the pressure regularly and it had lost near to nothing but i swore i was going to get the system and couldn’t remember what had turned me off in the first place as the price for a Toyota employee isn’t too bad BUT then i seen the screen again and went ahh yeah that’s right that’s what put me off lol UGLYYYY it actually doesn’t look to bad in a Prado by it sits just under the stero/sat nav system on a bracket in Aurion so is quite out of place and ugly.
  21. The would be next to useless here in QLD. They need to make chilled seats or something. Of all the addition extras the Yanks get, I must say, I'm not fussed. All the people that think (before you say it here) that a VSC/TC switch would be nice, I honestly have to ask, is it really beneficial for you? I don't really hear many stories of people here tracking their Aurion's. Personally, I have only had a need to turn my VSC/TC off about twice in the entire year. Once at the drags, and another time to rip a skid. Otherwise, I have not come across a situation thinking "I need to turn it off". Well they us the button is there for adverse terrain - 4wd where some slip is actually a good thing (this is with the A-Trac system though and diff locks/LSD although A-Trac cant be used with Rear Diff lock) but for passengers vehicles they say it can be useful for getting a car out of snow etc where the TRC can work against forward motion. Had them stumped when i asked then why Camry/Aurion didn’t have it for these purposes??? Nah I wouldn’t use the seat heaters either I don’t think, the weather in the north of the state is pretty much the same as Melbourne in reality where only 380kms away… I have used them in Kakadu’s and actually found them to be a bit I dunno unnatural and annoying. Still though it would be nice to at least be able to tick the box or have them as standard like they do, they no doubt pay less for the same car with more features lol
  22. VFX: you are quite correct we do have the tyre pressure system here but as an accessory which means it comes with a hell ugly display that gets mounted on your console it's not a standard feature like in the US so isn’t integrated into the Satnav or audio system screen. The TRC/VSC off button would be a good thing and is a duel stage just like in Corolla. Hit it once turns TRC off hold it in and VSC turns off as well. && o I don’t know living in Tassie, those seat heaters might come in handy some mornings lol
  23. Just being having a look around Toyota US's website and damm the standard features and accessories available for the Camry and Avalon over there makes out Camry Aurion's look a bit silly. Just having a quick through the specs and i already see these things. . Daylight running lamps with manual on/off switch - Std . JBL upgraded sound - Opt . An On/Off button for the VSC/TRC system! - Std . Voice activated Satnav -optional like it is here on ZR6/Presara but ours does not have the voice activation function :( . Heated front seats - Std . Drivers Knee air bag - Std . Tyre Pressure monitoring system - Std . Interior Illumination L.E.D's - Std ACCESSORIES . Paint protection film for the bonnet/bumper . Cargo net and "tote" for the boot . Rear seat entertainment system . Remote engine start! . VIP upgraded security system with glass breakage sensors. Some pretty cool things available there that we dont have here :( kind of sucks! Plus they have a range of TRD products available, 18in Wheels, Air/Oil Filters, Exhaust/Muffler systems & Oil/Radiator fuel caps etc
