  1. Remember the U660E gearbox is a fairly advanced transmission as is its computer systems and of course having AI means the gearbox programs itself around you and what you usually want from it and the car so if you drive quite slow and smooth and don’t rev it then the power train will go into a "nanny state" and short shift and skip ratio's to give you the best and smoothest possible drive. But if you randomly stab the accelerator the transmission computer and main ECU have to wake up again which can take a few spirited shoves of the loud pedal lol and this is the doughy bottom end response your feeling. But it doesn’t take too long to wake it up and once they have the gearbox is gold and pretty switched on always given you the right ratio at the right time especially in S mode and they engine feels like it found some power you never knew it had. i two used to drive around like a grandpa because i liked to think i was be nice and treating my car well but as of late I’ve been letting it rev out to 3000-3500rpm and the car seems to feel better for it, nice and alert and get to hear the exhaust note even more:p and fuel economy seems to be the same if not slightly even better :S go figure!
  2. Woah that car is pretty damm similer to mine <_< for a second there i thought you said that car was in tassie too, was going to find it and burn it if it was lol
  3. Ha ha so pretty much just like a GT-P then :P ahhh ouch! speaking of chev badges i seen one on a Cruze yesterday, now that was pretty sad, and it has HSV personal number plates lol.... mmm what would work? not sure. it would have to be smooth and not tacky as that would go against the smooth refined grow up design of the Aurion. Also can any body see what it says on the stripe? i'm guessing it says SX6 or Sportivo?
  4. SO i was looking on carsales.com and came across this pretty unique Sportivo: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer/details.aspx?R=8382350&keywords=Sportivo&tsrc=allcarhome&__Ntk=CarAll&__Nne=15&__Dx=mode%20matchany&__No=90&__D=Sportivo&silo=1011&seot=1&__sid=128D0EFA5C68&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294962861%204294889509&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_PriceSort_Decimal%7c1%7c%7cpCar_Make_String%7c0%7c%7cpCar_Model_String%7c0&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Cr=0&__Ntt=Sportivo&trecs=422&__Qpb=true She looks like its got a FG GT-P stripe package on it, doesnt look to bad on a black car but probabley a little wrong on an Aurion though and damm it needs dropping abit on those 19inch rims! but all in all it's something a bit different :P
  5. Alright so ive tracked down some Genuine TRD filters that fit thr Aurion. Oil Filter part Number: 90915-SP030 RRP.....$124.30.... yep for an oil filter! don't think they will be moving any of them anytime soon lol && for those who want a bit more flow from there air filter but want to stay true to brand then for $250.00 you can get a drop in filter as well. Part Number 17801-GR500 :) :)
  6. Mmm dealer must of seen you coming... lol the Part number your after is 75710-33130 and has a RRP of $87.45 still up there but a fair bit cheaper than what you was quoted. Only other thing i can think of is that the parts advisor got confused and actually gave you the price for the protector mould perhaps?
  7. For those interested Luis emailed me today. He now has stock of the rear lower bar/ rear member brace. :)
  8. I have read your original thread & had noted only a $200 price difference but I wasn't sure which tyre brand you had gone with. I didn't know PDW actually made tyres, or am I misreading you? I'm not sure I want to go to 19". This is a family car & the ride may be too harsh on a 35 profile tyre (which is another reason why I lean towards the 225/45 profile with probably Falken FK452). Oh i have FK452's on my car. Mine are 245/35ZR19 though. I'd recommend them to anybody. They are a little noisy for the first 500-1000kms but after they scrub in bit they quiet down a fair bit and the grriiippppp of them is just ridicules’ i promise you will not be disappointed great grip in both the wet and dry :)
  9. The standard Aurion battery is a Toyota/Century 55D23L and the high performance version of this battery is the "58" which has a RRP of $160.00 Hope this helps :)
  10. The dealer which your bought your car off should be able to help you out with a Wynns paint/rust and fabric/leather protection package but honestly the gear you can buy from repco or autobarn will do the job aslong as you keep at the leather every few months :)
  11. hey guys, yeah i had noticed the same thing, had always thought to my self mm thats kind of funny good to know why that is the case though :) Although i used to be a bit of grandpa around town my car barely ever got above 2000-2500rpm but lately ive increased that by 1000rpm and actually getting slightly better fuel consupmtion... why would this be? fuel burning better or what?
  12. The head unit you have is actually one of the better working ones believe it or not, we'd had a few issues with Hilux's and Klugers, try discounting the system and reconnecting it BUT this time don't connect it the easy straight forwrd way which is "pair phone" -> " M_Media" this time go "initialise" -> phone/audio then M_media wack in your pin (defaults to 0000 or 2142) and go from there. Other thing you can try is to make sure the volume is turned all the way up and the microphone area is clean. other things to be careful of is to make sure the aircon vent are not pointing downward at the unit as long with having the volume of the person your listening to up to loud can cause what’s known as a "half duplex" which can affect what the other person hears on the other end of the line. :)
  13. Yeah you certainly can get headlight protectors, The part number your after is PZQ14-33070 (that's for "Series 1" though) Bonnet protector is PZQ15-33070 Buy both together and haggle should be able to get a better deal, but honestly i can say there isn’t much margin in accessories for dealers especially in “plastic packs”.
  14. So the plan is to on the 12th of June head done the Lyell highway for a bit of a road trip along this amazing road. Meet at Moina at 8.45, meaning that people could leave from Devonport around 8ish, and about 7.45am from he Burnie area. Leave Moina @ 9.00am Go straight to Queenstown, there by 11.00am. via the Anthony link Road. Over the Lyell Highway to the Derwent Bridge Pub for lunch around one o'clock, it is about half way. Leave by 2.00pm ish, we should be able to get to say, Poatina/Cressy/Longford, by around 5.00pm. That should be before it gets real dark and then you are on the Highway, and it should be pretty animal-less from there anyway. People are welcome to make there own way to Moina, but we are looking at meeting up in our own cities/town and heading there in small groups. :) Also the idea has been put out there that we could stop at the Longford pub for a beer for those who are keen, i also plan on hooking the video camera up in my car so could be a good chance to have a look at some footage but i know some are keen to head home before it gets too dark so thats cool too.
  15. Aurion Sportivo rear spoiler, Spolier - PZQ74-33060 $493.90 Torsion bar bootlid spring- 64532-06160 $36.85 Plus painting and fitting :)
  16. Hey guys, So we’ve been planning a trip down the Lyell highway (Targa road between Strahan and Hobart) and whilst I’m pretty sure the Aurion has a big enough cruising range to complete the round trip i was wondering that with the fact that premium fuel will either be nonexistent or a million billion $$ a litre along the trip has anybody used octane booster in the 2GR-Fe engine?
  17. Yes. Even the TRD is 16mm stock. So what has been changed between the Sportivo that the TRD started off from to the final TRD? Does the stock TRD handle the same/better than the stock Sportivo? The only difference is the rear anti-roll bars between the model range is that whilst they are all 16mm, the Sportivo's and TRD vehicles have solid rear bars not hollow like the prestige models. Other than that the only difference between a Sportivo and TRD is a 15mm lower ride height due to lower stiffer springs, specially matched dampers to the spring rate. Little bit more camber to aid turn in and that's about it! other than the rear Reo on the TRD SL, thats bigger and thicker therefore more rigid. so pretty much and Sportivo with lowered suspension and or different shocks and any of the Ultra racing products would handle very similar to a TRD especially is there wearing the same Tyre size :) only thing we miss out on is that shiny red TVS :( and bigg brakes! aww haha i was slowly writting this up at work and took so long DJ had already answered it in the mean time lol
  18. Guys, Thought you might find this interesting, i spoke to Luis today and he was saying that he is expecting a shipment of rear chassis/suspension braces for the ACV40/GSV40's next month :) no word on prices yet though lol... Also been doing some calculations mind find this some use too. The standard OE 16mm Anti-Roll bar has a roll stiffness of 65,536 The Ultra Racing 19mm Anti-Roll bar has a roll stiffness of 130,321 or is 1.98 X stiffer! the Ultra Racing 22mm Anti-Roll bar has a roll stiffness of 234,256 or is 3.57 X stiffer....mmmmm over steer much lol ;P
  19. This seem like a fairly redundant review from the get go? Why not make the cars list price match up? The review should have been against a ZR6 or Presara in keeping with the "premium" thing. AS other have mentioned there was no comparison, they mentioned some of the panel gaps on the ATX where a bit sloppy but then they didn’t show the Saab for comparison? That’s basic stuff? Yet the failed. Also the mention that because Aurion is Australia is must be built like crap, they should not paint all Australian car with the same brush, Camry/Aurion are leaps and bounds ahead of Falcon/Commodore in terms of "QDR". and of course if he's a SAAB driver than another SAAB is going to feel more like home and user friendly, if we was to jump in a Saab and then into another Toyota we would say that the Toyota was more user friendly as that’s the "Command system" were used too.... who wrote this stuff, what a clown... And if you were looking for an "entry level" Premium vehicle why would you buy a SAAB that is renowned for average performance poor resale, awful dealer networks, expensive and difficult to get hold parts? Plus has a very patchy reliability and durability history? Would you not buy a Honda, Subaru or a "poor man’s" Audi a VW??
  20. Yeah no worries, it would be good if thoise of us who are currently trying the product could report back to the others on here after a tank or two?
  21. The very same thing happened the other day on a GSU45 Kluger at work, luckily it was a stock vehicle we was nabbing parts off but shows just how easily it can happen :S
  22. uhuh! My car has the Character, On the initial turn in you get a bit of roll but then it settles quickly and stays composed for the rest of the corner. As for the 19mm anti-roll bar, how does it affect the ride quality? My car is already quite firm as it is :S
  23. Hey Chris, Ha-ha good stuff looks like we'll have to do it then, few other guys keen to do it too, Couple from work and some mates. yeah i had thought about putting it out there on ToyoTAS but since it's a little bit i don’t know "Hit and miss" if you like gets busy on there then goes a bit quiet so wasn’t sure how it'd go down lol but don’t suppose it can hurt to put it out there hay might interest a few of the northern guys. Would be good to show some of the boys what an Aurion can actually do as i suspect they don't really rate them lol
  24. mm there's every chance there the same TRD springs i have in my car lol, and yeah I’d say they sag a little bit in the rear :S on a flat surface my car sits pretty damm perfectly flat same gap in the front and rear arches, But on even a slightly unlevel surface it looks like i have a dead body in the boot lol, Sub probably doesn’t help but yeah just thought id share that with you. BUT the body control and roll is that much better its incredible it's made a huge difference to the way the car handles and steers. Better than Kings and Pedder’s? Mm maybe a little but worth the extra outlay? Maybe not!. I know if i had known about the Pedder’s Coil over kit before I changed my Suspension i would of gone that way for sure!
  25. Lol yeah same here, haven’t been on those roads for about 10 years, from what i remember the roads are just awesome! And with Targa in town I’m more keen then ever!
