  1. haha iam so confuse man i use to have a dohc vtec car and the rev limiter is about the same as stivo, its 'wahwahwahwah', as 1zzfe described, drops couple hundred of revs instantaneously as for suddenly lose power at red line, its funny that it doesnt happen all the time....most of the time it just wont let u rev, no lost of power and mate, we play wit our cars, we love our cars thats y we on here, but it doesnt mean we have to hit the limiter, pushing your car to the limit do not= hitting the limiter, watch best motoring dvd how often do those race drivers hit the limiter when they push the car to the limit
  2. every car have rev limiter vtec or not, nothing to do with vvtli or vtec, its there to stop u from over reving it, 2zzge have fuel cut at 6000rpm?when cold because when engine is cold vtec and vvtli wont engage

  4. a silver corolla stock, young driver, tailgating me for about 10kms, keeping a 20mm distance from my car, springvale rd nunawading 9.30pm, if this was u GO GET A FREAKIN LIFE! AND THAN GOTO THE RACE TRACK and no!! u didnt beat a stivo, i wasnt at full throttle
  5. with coilies its spring and shocks into 1 so your shocks and springs will be replaced by coilies, as for other questions i cant help u, i dont have coilovers :) and also to add, i am already scrapping my muffler on some bumps, and i only have king low

  7. i was bored one day and actually thought about this,putting a camery v6 into our rolla, but than i thught it will be really nose heavy, and also all that extra torque to the front wheel, it will wheel spin like a phsyco in the wet, and torque steer like a mofo

  9. since these have brought up again, after i took the snorkel off still very good with fuel, going to a new workplace to work everyday(20km one way) and then take my wife to shopping on some days(13kms?one way) and only uses half tank of vortex 98, awsome, even lifted heaps to wake me up in the early mornings, i actually wish to have drink more fuel and have really good response and power from the motor, after all its a stock late model corolla even the worse case cant be too bad can it?

  13. nah, stivo will never be a type r like, its too fat, the type r is well sort after in every area, as superthai said, the engine is even hand built, the windscreen is thiner to loose weight, almost every bit of it is built for race, even our celica cant compare dam this thread make me wanna change to a type r :P

  15. that would be vtir coupe, and thats heavier than the vtir hatch 14.5 is an amazing time for a coupe, he must be a really good driver what mod did he have? i was reading some usa honda mag, theres a coupe with full list of spoon, mugen goodies does 13s
  16. its getting closer to what i want, i went for the black and white look, i dont care about brake dust i'll clean them every week if i have to, i just love the look of it and its a bit more 'rare' than black on black/gunmetal bought some new rubber with the rims too, picked up two goodyear eagle revspec second hand still have 60% meat on it and u know how much?? 60 bux each!!! the other two revspec they have was kinda bold so i bought two maxxis mav1s, i had the maxxis at the front first but dam!!! its just crap in the wet in fact its worse than the unknown cheap tire i had b4 in the wet, so i change the goodyear to the front and 100 times better in the wet the look department is pretty much done,unless a c-one bonnet show up at the right time and right price, i know there is one for sale right now for a good price but......iam broke! dont know when this modifying game gonna stop, it frinks money like a fish, i originally just want some cheap bsa rims than read on this forum saying bsa is not so good in quality, and i went through alot of other rims and its more and more expansive, so i just settle on BC not too expansive and look great, looks like ssr type c actually:) next up would be an alarm which i suppose to get a looooonnng time ago tah after that i have to make a decision on wether to get koni yellow or coilies oh and i have a target for the black stivo, and thats to provide me with max driving pleasure, dont have to be fastest corolla that could kill a modded type r nor best looking corolla in Vic, as long as it provide me with pleasure and a smile on my face every time i drive it than its good enough:) thx for reading all that crap
  17. b16a is awsome, i still miss my honda, its got a wider spread of torque than 2zz, u dont even feel vtec kicks in, where 2zz the change over is more agressive, but 2zz is still faster, thats what i feel anyway, 1zz is just a normal engine, tune for normal use, b16a is performance engine, vtir is made for sports, gotta love hondas, looks not-so-cool on paper, but goes like a legend

  19. how do i remove the snorkel, a member showed me b4, but i forgot how, do i just remove the soft pipe, or remove the soft pipe and also the hard 'box' as well??? sorry to hijack your thread dude
  20. it will fit, but i think what they meant was that its not design to fit the stivos, facelift or not, coz the exhaust is different, stivo has straight exhaust tip and the others have bent down, so for a stivo u need to bend the exhaust tip down or cut a hole in the rear skirt
  21. i've got tom's panel filter, not much different, but response a little better, and sounds deeper
