hey dude.. so its possible to change over just the engine and it would run fine? I was under the impression youd need the sportivo ECU, brakes, speedo, transmission, wiring.. (basically everything else) to make the sportivo engine work in a 1zz?

Hey dude, pretty brave move upgrading the 1zz to the 2zz! do you have any info that you can share on what you need to do to get it done? I was considering doing this if i could find enough research on the topic! any info you can share bout your experience is appreciated!!

Hey Danny Ive just gone past your thread in the members rides section. Youve done some decent work on the car and the comments youve got are encouraging. But put it into perspective dude, your car is at least an '04 model (since it is a facelift) and youve only joined the club in 2009, so its hardly likely that any of the mods youve got are a first for the 2zz owners on this forum. The sportivo is no longer the latest model and youve got mods which are pretty common amongst mod'd sportivos or some facelift 1zz's on the forum. Just saying dude that you arent exactly being ignored on the forum and its not really fair to compare threads between different members, particularly if others have been on the forums for much longer which would probebly explain the number of pages on some members rides you are comparing to. Ive put a lot of work into my car considering the lack of funds ive been working with the past few years and any feedback i get is appreciated. But the point of the members rides is to see what you started with and how you changed and added things there after... the praise you get from your hard work should be icing on the cake, it shouldnt be the sole reason to start a thread about your car.

In honour of this thread I restored my nick back to my original nickname. I miss the good old days with TAYLES, BADBOYS, SB, XOOM, azza (the 1st one) all (at least former) corolla owners.. YBH81N? I forgot his real name.. Krocco?? i forget the others in my old age.. sorry to say i dont post as often as I used to since things have changed round here. Edit- it not bcause the forum isn't corolla focussed as much..I quite enjoy reading bout other Toyota models. It was more the value of the things I've learnt from the people that have been and gone.

true, this is a public forum. personally i found nothing wrong with raxbelial's comment about paying for playing online. it sucks. that was a valid point! however, the topic was simply about asking for helpful advice regarding my 360 and buying a ps3 is NOT an option if you still want to play your x360 games and just want your console repaired quickly and in the cheapest way possible. if i wanted to find out if it was worth buying a PS3 then "PS3 RULES!" would be a valid point!

i guess you have a 1zz? i read somewhere on the forum that the sportivo 6 speed trans. isnt a great option for a swap.. if you trashed the auto trans. then its probebly not impossable to swap for a manual 1zz trans.. besides carving a hole into the floor for the clutch, not exactly sure what other complications involved, the most sensable option is to return your car to stock and trade in for a manual, then install your small mods into the manual!

sorry to hear bout the news.. one peice?? did you get them tinted? i kinda felt secure in knowing if i had an accident or something that the windows wont fall to peices because of the tint.. guess its a good thing for theives too.. wreckers would definately be one place to look. when i owned a ford laser (1985 model)and needed a replacement door, i found one a complete door replacement for 40 bucks! good luck finding it though. however, i just checked on yellow pages.com.au, looks like theres heaps of places to replace your window.. obrien was one of the first on the list. hope the repairs go smoothly. jase

Yea, having to paying anything to play others online sucks. HOWEVER- I dont have a plasma, no FOXTEL, dont often eat out at cafes/clubs/pubs.. so the 70-80 bucks for 1 year xbox live membership is not too bad if you were to compare it to those other options. The 360 was available long before the ps3 was released which is why i didnt bother with the PS3. Basically what im saying is if youve got a ps3, quit bragging about it already! you dont see people in these forums putting crap on others for the types of cars they own - EXAMPLE: 2zz sportivo owners putting crap on 1zz ascent owners. arent people on these forums typically already old enough to drive a car??? your stupid comments are CHILDISH more than anything else. There are some people out there who dont feel the need to upgrade to the latest frikken gadget whenever something new comes out.

paradigm: yea they told me to take off the face of my xbox, the hard drive and the original cables.. all that stuff i kept. however the new xbox i recieved came with a xbox face.. so Ive got 2 faces for my xbox. i might just paint something on the old face to make it look a bit more interesting. hidden taco: yea because it was the 3red lights problem, they did the exchange even though i was out of warranty. btw the new xbox has a warranty now until august 2010! that was a nice bonus. i think youve added me in your xbox live already?! im JJCRU23R.. that was my original nickname in TOCAU.

However, my Easter school holidays are done and its back to teaching for me. >:/ Anyways, theyve written to me saying that I will notice my Xbox will have a different serial number. This is because theyve swapped my old 2006 model x360 with a 2009 model. Theyve provided instructions on how to get the xbox up and running again as well asking me to accept their apologies for the inconvenience of sending away my console with 1 months free xbox live membership. not too damn bad!

gday... your aerial should made up of 2 parts.. theres the long end (part1)screws into the base (part 2)which is attached to the roof of the car. are you saying the base of your aerial is broken as well? you should be able to buy a short stubby version of the aerial from ebay for cheap... but if the base has been broken, you might want to go looking for a generic type aerial to replace it or go to toyota parts.

my mate who owns a 2000 1ZZ mr2 asked me about where I got my exhaust for my 2003 1ZZ corolla. I told him its a sportivo exhaust.. (optional extra, not the stock sportivo corolla exhaust) and that I got it 3rd hand from the TOCAU forum. since both our cars have a 1zz engine and although his car has the engine in the back so the exhaust piping would be different, would it at all be possible to weld a sportivo exhaust onto his mr2 pipes?

I remember it musta been 9-10 years ago now, I went up there camping for a weekend and 4wd'ing in these tracks where they do logging up around there... Pretty fun driving through the tracks... Then drove through the hawkesbery river near penrith on the way home... You must be from around blacktown area I think I've seen your 4wd before driving around bungaribee rd.. Have you ever passed through there?

Yo Tocau, the wife and I want to make the most out of our free time this Easter break with the very little money we've got, so what we've got planned is take the 1zz and the kids (3yrs old and 2yrs old) on a road trip from Sydney down to woolongong, stay there overnight possibly and drive to canberra and back home around Friday evening. Just wondering if there is anything worth checking out passing through the illawara and the act? Any big touristy things or free adventure park areas for my kids to go nuts in for a couple hours... The aim is to entertain the kids, visit places my wife hasn't seen. When I said big touristy things I'm thinking like queenslands big pineapple or bug banana or big sheep or corny things like that... Any useful advice would be appreciated!!!!
