  1. He he - Love the work vehicles :D The funniest is heel/toe on turbo diesel 3tonne vans ! Scares the sh!t out of other drivers when they hear you blip the throttle approaching a corner or a stop - they don't think you're slowing down
  2. You forgot to mention... Not only do your downshifts - whether you're setting up for corner, slowing down or selecting a lower gear for acceleration feel very smooth when you heel/toe, but it sounds bloody awesome ! Especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust ! :D :D
  3. Sportiv, I suggest this.... Write down all the problems you've been experiencing on paper. Before the 20k service is due, call the dealership where you normally get your car serviced and inform them of the problems you have and then request to have a 'senior' mechanic or supervisor to actually drive the car with you so that they acknowledge those problems and can immediately suggest a fix. This won't be possible on a Saturday or after hours as the seniors don't work at that time. Have these noted by the supervisor/senior and then book in to have the work carried out when the service is due. If you don't get one of them to acknowledge the problems, they'll just say everything is normal.
  4. Sport1vo, Kcorro - Thanks guys - what would I do without you :D Who would have thought you drive there The Phillip Island track day sound ok - More info please ! Do you need any sort of race licence? Can you Hire Helmets on the day?
  5. I can't see it lasting too long if they're making the longer stroke izz-fe block rev out to 8100rpm...2000rpm higher than what it was designed for. The additional piston speed would be putting heaps of stress on the crank. One of the reasons why the 2zz-ge can rev much higher in comparison to the izz-fe is it's shorter stroke - the capacity is then made up via a bigger bore.
  6. Having gone from paper to a K&N and then back to paper at the moment, There's certainly a difference - not only can you feel the difference, you can see it in the fuel consumption. I'm soon going to be buying a BMC panel filter. They're 'supposed' to be better than K&N at high end for N/A engines with the same level of filtration.
  7. A Barbie sounds good. Have you got enough room on your front lawn for 20 corolla's though ? :D :D
  8. Recently spotted a Silver Camry ( I think it was the altise ). It had a simple set of 17 inch wheels, but it was still at the standard ride height. I was surprised how much of a difference the wheels made to the look of the car. Toyota should be fitting 17 inch wheels to the camry sportivo and also have an optional set of 18 inch wheels if they were serious on marketing it as a sports sedan.
  9. How do you get to Heathcote - how far is it from Melbourne ?

There's enough legal off street racing meets these days that there shouldn't be any excuse to do that sort of thing on public roads. Going for a spirited drive on your favourite moutain or coastal road is one thing, but actually racing or driving at dangerously high speeds on the roads, in particular in built up areas, is not on. After witnessing someone in a wheelchair crossing a road get hit by a car that was speeding through the intersection, I always think of that everytime I'm tempted to 'have a go' It's just not worth it. :(
  11. No offence at all Blackzze - I took it as a compliment mate! ;) :D But like Danz, as much as I enjoy doing a Drag Launch, also scares me because of the additional strain I'm putting on the driveline - in particular the clutch. Danz - Yeah do notice the slight hole in power delivery from 20km/h under 2500rpm, the Remus made a big difference, but it's still there. Our Engines don't really come alive until 3000rpm is showing on the tacho.
  12. Thankyou Blackzze ! :D But you sure you don't have me confused with someone else... ;) Danz - thanks man, but just reiterating not interested in a drag from a standstill ( We can both save the stress on our clutch! ) just interested and curious in seeing the difference with rolling start acceleration from 2nd gear starting from say about 20km.
  13. Excellent ! - Next meet up Danz, lets see how much you pull away from me (at least 1/2 a car length easy). Grimlock - Did Penrith do the tune for you as well or did you have to go elsewhere for that ? Also - does the S/C kit have an integrated oil cooler for the S/C that sits in front of the radiator?
  14. Doesn't the SP23 share it's chassis with the new Volvo S40?
  15. Danz - wouldn't mind lining up next you one day to see a 2nd gear rolling start comparison between yours and mine (almost stock except for rear muffler). By the way the S/C kit is actually $5,600 - I made a mistake earlier.
  16. Mine's like northy's - nothing like the front Oh yeah on another topic - tried to reply to your message P’¢¡%T but for some reason couldn't due to the name? - Anyway - I don't have personalised plates.
  17. I agree with kcorro & sport1vo. What needs to be remember is we all have different tastes and different intentions with our cars - and that's why our cars are so similar yet also very different too. Me for example - I wanted to have a small economical vehicle that was cheap to buy and run but also a little fun at the same time, hence why I have a conquest with very mild mods and I'm not going to be doing any more than what I've already done. If I wanted to go quick or fast, I'd have bought an eight or turbo - simple as that. Whilst i don't agree with some of the things that some have done to their rides, it's still not right to attach each other and start comparing d!ck sizes (coz i'd just win every time!) because I remember that everyone looks at their own car in a different way and has a different purpose/intention for it. Lets not spoil things and lets look forward to the next meet up :D
  18. Skitzo I noticed in the latest Hot4's (1st copy I've ever bought) Penrith Toyota are advertising the izz-fe s/c kit for $4,500. Don't know if that's installed though. Where did Grimlock get his ?
  19. $650.00... Bargain considering useful gain in midrange, which is where I do almost all my driving, I hardly ever go into high end. I might get the exhaust guy's details from you soon Danz... How much were the headers alone ?
  20. So you've got more punch between 2500rpm & 4000rpm ? - That'd be handy ! Can you feel a big difference - worth the spend ?
  21. It actually is a pretty good unit, my car's twin in Glen Waverley has one fitted and I myself almost picked it over the Remus I've got. It's not loud but it does have a nice note.
  22. Danz, Very interested in what the results will be - I'm certain it'll be all good, which Dyno are you doing the testing at ?
  23. Artivo, Can't wait to see the Pics, I know I missed out, you don't have to rub it in :D Kcorro - why the switch from the coilovers ?
  24. Shao I took that particular shot in high res 5mp ( Not Pecker ! ), so it should come up pretty good in a3 size. If anyone wants a high res copy, PM your e-mail address to me along with what format you'd like it in (photoshop, jpeg, TIFF etc) and I'll send it along. cheers !
  25. Click...Some early pics from this morning, more to come...cheers Melbourne Meet - early pics more to come
