Welcome Miss, As far as I know, this model shares it's 2.2lt Engine and 5spd Gearbox from the Camry, so it's pretty robust and shouldn't have any problems unless it's been abused.
  3. It's on the bottom right of the instruments near the fuel gage, you can't miss it when it's on.
  4. I tend to disagree because since I switched to a Silver Car, I've had a few near misses ( The last two I really had my balls in my mouth having to swerve hard to avoid collision ) because people don't see me coming and just pull out in front of me... I think silver tends to blend in too well especially on a sunny or overcast day.
  5. That sounds like Melbourne City Toyota... Mate ! Just Joking.
  6. Spotted a blue Camry Sportivo lowered on 18" BBS wheels on Forster Road and it all looked so right! TOYOTA are you listening... standard 17's on Sportivo Models please !
  7. All my family have been with AAMI for years and with the last two bingles my dad's had, last one a year ago, we have always chosen our own repairer. So AAMI do allow you to choose your own repairer, they just dont give you the whole "valet" service if you choose do so.
  8. You can choose your own repairer with AAMI.
  9. And there I was, almost tempted to test it out for myself to see if it was true
  10. Depends on what you're happy with. I'm pretty happy with mine with the very little that I've done - even though I know that I won't go as quite quick as I would in a Sportivo, you'd find that if you add a CAI ( AEM, Injen, TRD or others ) you'll see a big difference in performance.
  11. You did that without your engine completely warmed up ! You really were impatient to find out !
  12. I own a 1zz so I'm not biased. When the Sportivo goes into lift - it sounds very gutsy and is bound to make you smile. Tire Noise isn't bad with the standard Bridgestone Turanza's but will be a little louder if you fit bigger wheels/tyres. But even then it's still not intrusive. Torque and Power of the 2zz below 4000rpm would be very similar to the 1zz, Sportivo is geared shorter and has a six speed in lieu of the 1zz's five ratios, so any torque gap in low revs is compensated by the shorter gearing.
  13. Just test drive the car yourself and don't be scared to drive the car as you normally would. You need to live with it day in, day out so If you like it follow your own judgement and don't be too worried about reviews like that.
  14. But Paul, he's driven them back to back. :P
  15. Ilivfor6 has both, if you search previous posts you'll see his opinion on how they compare, but in a nutshell, the Sportivo is a much more enjoyable drive.
  16. You have to remember that when the engine's running the oil is circulating throughout the entire engine, so the oil level should be close to or at the full mark in order to ensure your engine has consistent oil pressure when running
  17. I think someone else had posted this sort of problem some time ago and it was to do with fuel lines being clogged up.
  18. Is the 125kw/tonne rule still apply ? Because I see alot of young guys in cars that exceed that by far.
  19. Lucio, I think were pretty safe :) Ilivfor6 and Sport1vo are way to slow to ever catch us :P By the Lucio, that downhill run from the top of Arthurs Seat was fun ! :D
  20. My view would be simply to make licencing more stringent and difficult. Vehicles ownership continues to grow, so too does traffic density yet, the tests have never radically changed. Quite simply, driving a few suburban blocks at 50km/h and doing a parking test is not in my view a real world indication as to how a driver will behave or react in the real world. I would include things such as emergency braking test and evasive manouvering, this will not give people a false sense of self confidence, but teach them how to control their vehicle in a life threatening situation.
  21. Looks like he's painted the top of the factory headlight covers.
  22. I didn't say that :P :P :P I was meaning I'm a little bloke... that's why I can get the 1zz to perform so well - Good power to weight ! :D Kcorro, Danz and I need to keep all you 2zz drivers in check !
  23. I think that's screaminrolla from memory ... looks good.
  24. The little trip computer dial controls the dimness when you have the little lines displayed.
