  1. You got the bonnet from Typhoon Motorsports didn't you ?
  2. White Corolla Ascent sedan lowered on white 18" S7 Lenso's in Waverley/Chadstone area.
  3. Not entirely sure regarding the physics behind it, but it's not really the gearing that's altered ( Eg, you're car will still be pulling 3300rpm at 100km/h on the 17's ) It's more of a driveline power loss because the engine has to use more torque to turn the bigger wheel. In the case of your car, were probably talking about a loss of a couple of hundredths of a second over the quarter mile, however, this is also highly dependant on the weight of the wheel as well. The OZ racing wheels are normally quite light and most likely lighter than those currently fitted to your Runx. If this is the case, you shouldn't have any loss at all, only gains in addition to other benefits such as better cornering grip - And judging by the speeds you guys reach there - you need it ! :D
  4. By the Way Influx, I've been meaning to ask - What's your C-One bonnet made from ?
  5. Bunnings should have those sort of Elbows or something similar that will do the job. I recently set up a sprinkler system in the garden and couldn't believe the amount of various hoses, joins, bends and elbows that were available in all sorts of different sizes and shapes Let us know how you go Influx
  6. There's another way around this, Add another section to the forum, and each member starts a post with pics and description of their own car, and when they have any new additions, they simply modify their previous post.
  7. Watch it - You have to have the sound effects ! And it was the funniest watching Bunta use the gutter technique in the 22B to overtake Takumi in the 86 :D
  8. Hey JDM, I used to experience this sort of thing with my old car and it came down to the belts stretching with heat, it used to happen after running on hot days. So a simple adjustment of the belt tension should fix this. One question - does it also do this when you accelerate with the car stationary? In regards to the wheels, 17x7 inch wheels are quite fine for your car. You wont have any problems with lowering your car provided you maintain the correct aspect ratio with your tyre choice (205/45, 215/45 or 215/40 would all be good for a 17x7 wheel) As on all cars, your gearing will change ever so slightly, but the difference is not noticable in the driving - you just wont get as much wheel spin on take off ! :D
  9. How nice is that ! Toyota Australia - Import NOW ! please. :)
  10. The TRD rear stabiliser is 22mm, I think the Whiteline is more rigid at 24mm. The standard is 18mm and much lighter than the TRD/Whiteline units.
  11. Merry Christmas :D Best wishes to all, drive safe have fun
  12. Comon Guys - Heaps of Notice ! Lets do it !
  13. Welcome, We've got members in VIC, NSW, QLD, SA, WA, Poland and Jaimaca !
  14. Surely after the comotion caused by your post Danuther we would have enough new members now
  15. ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......................... :P ← quiet u! :P ← Hmmm is this why you guys are so keen to go camping :P :D
  16. Hi Infinity, Welcome to the forum mate, which model sss do you have? What state are you in? I speak on my own behalf, but I've got a lot of respect for the SSS - in particular the fact it's so easy to get more out of the things. As for the Type R (more so the first model) I think it's a great performance car and very swift in the right hands. Anyway, if you're looking for Corolla strip times, a few members have posted their scanned time slips from various tracks in VIC, NSW & QLD in previous threads, best thing to do is use the Forum search engine to look for these. In a nut shell a 15.1 has been achieved from the 1zz-fe engined Corolla (100kw standard) that was fitted with a cold air intake. I believe a high 14 run has been done with a 2zz-ge (141kw standard) that was fitted with a cold air intake, extractors and exhaust. But have a look through yourself, you should find quite a few threads about members taking their cars to the track - you should also find a bit about Winton Track days too Cheers.
  17. Glad you made it 02rolla - Welcome aboard. :) Hope we can help you out with your set up. Grimlock - this is your area of expertise B)
  18. I love blipping the throttle on downshifts ! - Every single one ! :D
  19. Motor Mag's figures will always be a little understated. Their figures are a two way average ( Two runs down the strip in both directions ) with half tank of fuel and 1 passenger. They do this to emulate real world conditions and not necessarily the absolute best that the car can do (ie-no passenger, lower fuel load, best time - rather than an average) My 2c :P
  20. Yeah, that's all I was supposed to do to mine... but I'm still going he he
  21. I don't have ABS fitted, I've found the car remains straight and stable under emergency breaking. I've had a couple of instances when the passenger side front locks up momentarily ( just for a split second ) approaching a corner a bit too quickly in the wet .
  22. The only thing I don't really like about FWD is taking off in the wet uphill
  23. But if you go out and get the biggest Bundaberg Rum or Jim Beam sticker you can find and put it on your rear window, you'll fit right in ! Plus, make sure you have some Lee Kirnigan playing in the CD player !
  24. At my last service (15,000) km Toyota wanted to flush my injecters ( An additional $75.00 ) I refused to have it done. I run on Optimax ( because of the 4c discount ) and my car runs fine. My mechanic specialises in Injector Cleaning for dealers, they only need to be cleaned once a car has traveled a high amount of km's ( Over 60K )
  25. If you're saving for another car, don't bother with a body kit - Just keep it simple, a set of wheels, suspension and a well thought out exhaust does the trick. Have a look at mine in the last few pages of the gallery and you'll see the difference these simple things do.
