  1. Well for now, start up a new thread in the Club Lounge. If people start participating in it, we can then pin it up. :)
  2. Nice project keep us updated with pics ;)
  3. The wheelbase is the same, but the sedan has a longer rear overhang like the wagon. The shape of the sedan rear bumper means that a Stock Sportivo exhaust would be behind the bumper like have a rear skirt on a hatch. So you would have to extend or change the tip.
  4. You will have noticed from the meets the 2zz's differ in this regard because their intake runners are larger and made from an alloy rather than the plastic we get on the 1zz's.
  5. No I mean in a bad way, going like a scalded cat is good thing :D You may be able to get away with it, but you'll find it will end up hunting, running rough, using more fuel etc, not quite worth it if you're just running a standard airbox/filter the gain from removing it will be 0. Removing it to do something like what Just has done is different. But then again I still can't see the benefit if it's still sitting inside the same airbox.
  6. That's your intake plenum. You can't remove those.
  7. It's an airflow straightner, It ensures the air passing past the MAF is direct and not turbulent so that the MAF is picking up the best possible readings. If you remove this the car will run like a dog.

    Hot Chicks

lol Well he wouldn't be lying if he said they were naked
  9. That sounds like it's slipping. When you check the oil level, are you checking it hot or cold? Auto Trans oil levels should always be checked hot. If you forget to do it just after driving the car, there's another way to check the level from your driveway. To do so, open your bonnet, start the car and allow to idle a minute in P or N. Then with your foot on the brake, place the car in D, leave for a couple of seconds, then move to R, leave for a couple of seconds and return to D. Repeat this 4 - 5 times with your foot on the brake (Even if the handbrake is on). When you've repeated this 4-5 times, return to P and check the oil level quickly (Remember - pull out the dip stick, wipe clean then put right in again and pull out) The oil level should be between the two marks on the dip stick.
  10. The plot thickens.... http://au.cars.ign.com/articles/777/777166p1.html We could possibly end up with the sedan version, which looks good too
  11. Think Ben Cousins....
  12. I know Blue Stive used to have a dump pipe - I don't know now though (Because he changed the whole system), There should be a pic somewhere of what it looked like with the droopy tip behind the skirt. Also, when Peekay had his Red Sportivo, he had installed twin tips and only had to make a very small/subtle cutout on the skirt, as opposed to a bigger cutout needed had he left the bigger single tip. I may have a pic at home somewhere.
  13. Could be both but I wouldn't say SA build quality as my Jap built one doesn't quite sit flush either, it's just one of those things on a mass produced car. You probably will be able to get it lined up better yourself with some effort.
  14. Do you mean like a skills depository ?
  15. Opps I was still in bed when you all would have been in Geelong Next time. Hope you're ok vyets. That sounds very bad.
  16. That is complete and utter bs. Get in touch with customer relations. The warranty should be covering the brakes because it's not wear and tear for the brakes to wear as they have. The problem is the poor quality discs used on the SA build cars. Keep hounding all avenues until it's replaced YOU SHOULD NOT BE PAYING FOR THIS.
  17. Sorry guys but this one's gone too far. I will be deleting the unnecessary personal comments. If it continues I will close this thread. Keep it clean. It comes down to personal preference. My own - I prefer the characteristic of a RWD car. Not because I like to fish tail into poles, but because I find them far more balanced in handling (especially in the wet). I grew up with RWD cars, and I personally don't feel as safe especially in the wet in the current FWD I own and drive and in many aspects I quite enjoy. This will differ to YOUR own opinion and likes/dislikes. Like I said earlier. Different cars appeal to different people. play nice :D
  18. How old is the Hilux? Still under warranty? I know you must need it everyday for work, but if it's going into limp mode for no reason at all, there must be some sort of fault with the ecu, the same fault can also be the cause of excessive fuel consumption, so I would take it back to the dealer to be rectified.
  19. I might be able to make it. But seriously don't like my chances of being able to make it to the meet time in the morning...
  20. I've always loved this front lip. If I were ever to get a kit it would be this one.
