:o Mate I would be taking those samples together with the new oil sample and I would be asking to speak to the service manager and the dealer principle both at the same time with customers in the service department listening on as you sit all the evidence together with the removal tool in which you want a full refund on by the way,and ask the question;;How on earth can this be the new oil when this here is a sample of the new oil and this **** here is what came out of it.But on another note I personally would of took the car back and pulled the dipstick out and shown them prior to dropping the oil as really now its only your word against them.What I do is when our car is ready to go from being serviced I pop the bonnet and visually check that the oil on the dipstick is almost transparent,but pursue the matter,remain calm and polite,take a witness,do it in front of waiting customers,DONT SWEAR,and demand a full refund on all oil supplied or 2 x 5 litre containers of Genuine toyota 10w30 VVTI oil, best of luck mate keep us all posted.If they become smart****s,let them,then in a nice calm voice tell them (I am going public with this)then say no more but remain in the waiting room have a cuppa and start to talk to the other waiting customers and show & tell them your situation;;;;;;;;;;;

Hi just after some information in regards to the footwell lights available for the aurion.Do they come standard in the Presara or Prodigy.I had alook under the dash and seen where they fit into, what I want to know is,are the wiring plugs already there taped up ready to be plugged into the lights and where abouts do the rear ones fit.I thought I would ask here first (someone might already have done the install ) before giving Toyota a buzz

Good question Unique,when a vehicle is driven by the front wheels rather than having a Diff as such it has what is commonly known as a Trans Axle (Differential and Transmission COMBINED )Going by the hand book for the Aurion it holds a total of 6.5 litres of WS (world standard) Automatic Transmission fluid,with only a mention of replacement at 90,000km (Additional service)otherwise its only an inspection at every 45000km unless its used for towing etc then the inspection periods are almost halved.They are a sealed unit and have no dipstick,but then again unless its leaking the fluid is not going to dissappear or drop in level. If anyone else can shine more information on this matter I too would be interested. you are correct about the transaxle incorporating the one oil level. some earlier camry autos did have a separate oil level for the diff side and a lot of mechanics did not know this. Hence the old sv21 autos were bullet proof , until the pinion seal leaked and the diff lost oil. so if the mech/tech was not aware of this , goodbye complete transaxle (auto's dont fair well with floating metal particles) so if you have your auto oil replaced it will also include the diff in the case of the u660e transaxle. The way to check the auto oil level is complicated and really can only be done with an IT2 , the trans oil is at a specific temp and after running thru a feqw nominated shift positions and holding your mouth right you can remove the overflow plug to see if the level is correct. Mate the reason they are telling you there is no genuine fluid is because all the power steering uses is your every day DEXRON II or III automatic transmission fluid.What ever fluid you change to and use, make sure its compatible with the originally used auto fluid ( DEXRON ) as chances are you wont get every last drop out on replacement, and if the new fluid is not compatible,you will cause more trouble than its worth

We take both our vehicles to Charlestown Toyota @ Bennetts Green,its only 1/2 hour north of Doylo lights. Found it very hard to fault these guys,they are upfront,courteous,being going there now for the last 6 years.Thats probably the reason we have purchased 4 vehicles off them.Yes they do take any issues even minor ones as serious as a major fault.We have a good relationship going with those in the service dept, which to us is just if not more important than buying the vehicle in the first place,but if you work in Sydney surely there is a dealership down there who could do your serviceing whilst you are at work.If your car is still under new car warranty you can have it serviced at any Toyota dealer but if they gave you an extended 3year /175000 km warranty through them at the end of the new car warranty thats when you have to take it back to them for serviceing.I would be inclined to start up a good rap (so to speak) with another dealer and down the track see if they will honour the extra warranty,I dont like your chances though,but what have you got to loose,all they can say is no sorry,best of luck Funnily enough, Charlestown Toyota was where my parents bought the AE102 new from, and it has never gone back there since (various reasons). All warranty work on both my parent's Toyotas was done at Newcastle Toyota (where we bought the Camry a year earlier, and who have been excellent to deal with). Granted, Charlestown Toyota have probably improved over the last 10+ years, and our issues with them was the Sales team not Service, but it still stuck with us............although we did get a free cooler-bag and stuffed Toyota chicken from Charlestown, Newcastle gave us nothing :P Both Newcastle Toyota and Charlestown Toyota are owned by the same people and have both recieved new dealer principles in the last 12 months or so. But I do agree with you HIRO when the salesmen carry on and act like d*ckheads,and treat prospective buyers that same way people remember that bad experience for a long time to come, and they take their money elsewhere

Mate what ever dealership you bought it from go to the other one for your service as they are both owned by the same mob.I personally couldnt and wouldnt go back to the a*seholes who tried passing a $800 fine over to me after forking out all that money to buy the car.The pr*ck responsible wants hanging out to dry and relieved of his position, but dont feel guilty about the State Dept Recovery looking into it.Just think if it was the other way around do you think and feel for one moment that they would care what happens to you;;;;;;No I didnt think so.Some of those ba*tards would sell their grandmother and it wouldnt worry them one bit

I feel its pretty reasonable also as my way of thinking is why have that feature to begin with when you are not going to keep it also contact Toyota as I am pretty damn sure that if your Car is STOLEN whilst Toyota Link is subscribed too, Toyota will pay the insurance excess and a few other quirks and perks associated with subscribing to it

Mate we have a 2010 ZR6,we looked at the SX6,but we settled on the zr for the; Leather trim, Auto tilt and heated external rear veiw mirrors, Rear powered internal sunshade, powered passenger seat,(auto slide,lumber and recline) auto rain sensing wipers, electro-chromatic internal rear veiw mirror, drivers seat memory with link to external mirrors, and the Smart start/entry feature,that way we dont have to worry about adjusting seats and mirrors each time the wife or I drive it as each key fob is programmed for each other and seats and mirrors adjust accordingly, hope that helps you out with abit of info, but do yourself a favour and instead of listening to myself and others get yourself down to a Toyota dealer and have a looksie first hand

Mate I would definately have to agree with the other boys here, for the sake of a few hundred dollars is it worth having your insurance declined because of the chosen rubber.Just stay with the appropriate tyres and ya laughing, sure they might be more expensive than the larger size, I know its bull****, but haggle hard for a good price then go to another dealer with a written quote and ask them to beat that and you will purchase off them, sure they will moan and groan but show them that if they dont want to haggle you will go elsewhere,but dont risk your car for tyres you know are wrong for it, just my two bobs worth, cheers

Mate if you dont want to purchase the filter housing removal tool all you do is have your drain pan under the filter location to catch the excess oil and grasp the filter housing and turn it anti-clockwise as it only threaded on, and unscrew it a couple of turns in which oil will start to dribble out,leave it for a few minutes until it stops and then very carefully keep the filter housing level while you fully unscrew it and lower it down and drain it in your oil tray, every thing else you need to know and do is in your new filter box including new O rings. Once you,ve done it you will wonder what all the fuss is about. By the way when you reinstall the filter housing with the new element in it,unlike a spin on filter you dont tighten it an extra 3/4 of a turn after it contacts the base,just nip it up.Once again the torque setting is on the box (instuctions ).Haggle with Toyota as the price can be as much as $10 different between dealers for the filter.By the way it holds 6.1 litres with filter change

Hi msmani, you do realise that the 200kw produced is achieved using 91 regular unleaded,and 204kw is produced using 95 octane. I personally use nothing but 95 octane as the difference in economy more than makes up for it.As VF-X stated the aurion is more than happy/capable to run on E10 with no repercussions on the engine,fuel system, in fact we find using United 95 E10 the beast absolutely hauls **** pulling hills,and it has so much more go,there is no pinging,it idles beautifully. There is a big misconception that E10 is no good,but overseas they use E85 (85% ethanol) they have no other alternative. So if the 2GR-FE / 1GR-FE can survive on that over there, say no more

Worst Part of the Aurion,let me see now It Cant be the headlights as both low and high beam are amongst the best I have come across. The Low beam has fantastic spread and penetration and a very sharp cut-off point,and high beam rivals some of the most expensive euro cars getting around. It cant be the centre consul light as the brightness is adjustable as well as being able to change the colour from Blue,Orange or a very nice Black/Grey colour It cant be the way the front represents itself as it looks just as horny looking as the new XR6, come to think of it Nick Hogias the bloke who worked on the design of the BA-BF XR6 at Ford was poched over to Toyota to wave his magic wand on the Sportivo variants of the Aurion (now you can see the similarities ) stand at the front slightly to one side and you swear you are looking at a FG XR6 It cant be the USB equipped sterio with bluetooth,if anything I would of loved to have a proper hand brake between the fully electric passenger and driver Leather Sports Seats

Good choice mate, just a thought check out your Melbourne trading post as there is always a few sets of original 17x7-17 alloy sportivo wheels being sold for bargain prices complete with tyres, due to being replaced with aftermarket items. You can still go with your 225/50-17 tyres, that way Your happy, Insurance company is happy, come to think of it everyone will be happy Cheers mate take care

To save alot of frustration go to your local Bob Jane or similar tyre dealer on a saturday morning and hang out there for an hour and ask the blokes all the questions you want about whats suitable and whats not for your particular needs,just dont tell them that you were thinking of putting the tyres off your oldies Cruiser on your Aurion I was just curious. I knew they were heavier and of different design but i wasn't sure if SUV tyres would work in a sedan. I am glad you wrote back mate. I was not being a smart ar*e mate, but no they would not be suitable for your Aurion mate as it would be the same as putting tyres off a wheel barrow on a mini, but really mate get first hand advice from your local tyre dealer and if they cant help go to another one as whats good for someone else doesnt meen it would suit you, cheers

You will find the recomended wheel width to suit a 235/45-17 tyre is 8 inch. The overall diameter of the 215/55-17 is------668.3 235/45-17 is------643.3 Difference is-------3.74% or 25mm which means your speedo is going to read an extra 4kmh on top of what it is already reading. Are you considering using those tyres because of how cheap they have become due to how many vehicles have them now as standard equip.But be WARNED if they have a lower load rating as per the original tyres as stated on the tyre plackard inside your door jamb and you are involved in an accident the Insurance Company will drop you like a hot turd, no questions asked. So is it really worth the price of your car for the sake of a few hundred dollars to put the correct rubber on with a load Index of 93 or higher. DJKOR sounds about right on the money recomending an increase to 225/5017 as long as the payload,and speed index is met The overall diameter of the 225/50-17 is-----656.8 if it helps you out

I did think this at the time so I just checked on the RTA website. 30-45km/h over the limit is $647 and 5 demerit points. 30-45 km/h over the limit in a school zone is $816 and 6 demerit points so not only did Toyota do the sly on me, but the RTA also %&^$#@ up by assuming that 40km/h in a TUNNEL means it must be a school zone. Can't remember the last time I saw school kids wondering around a 3-lane motorway tunnel !!!! Well, knowing my wife as I do, I'm fully expecting to see a set of kidneys sitting on the kitchen table that she tore from the salesman's **** today Mate I know the dealer you are refering to,when the wife and I went to have alook at their aurions all they wanted to do was try and sell us a new KIA, figure that out as I sure as hell cant.I too live on the Central Coast but we went up to Newcastle to buy,bugger those down wally,s down at WY**G & GOS***D.

Davo I agree totally, for the fine to go to Toyota they must have been the owners of the vehicle at the time of infringement,so thats where proof needs to be shown that at the time and date shown on the notice they were no where near the dealership let alone the ones driving. mr_grumble2010 what state are you in,and can you narrow down the dealer for us without disclosing its name and would you really trust the pr*cks again? I sure as hell wouldnt.Once you have all the proof needed front up at the dealership and nice and politely ask to speak to the Customer relation personal and the Manager and calmly lay it all out in front of them whilst sipping a coffee, you know youve got them by the balls and the look on their face will be priceless

Go to the RTA and get them to look up and print out when you took delivery of the Vehicle as the dealership would of informed them the moment you drove out of the driveway. A similar case happened to me when I took a new VU commy ute for a test drive,it was only when I went in and changed my address with the RTA and they asked me if I still owned the commodore ute, the A-Holes at the dealership put down that I purchased the vehicle after handing over my License for them to photocopy prior to the test drive, after a bit of talking with the pricipal at the dealership and tha RTA intervention I had the car legally removed from my name, So dont give up in desperation find all you can even something that states when you went in and took the Aurion for a test drive,EFTPOS reciept,fuel docket anything to support that it infact was not you behind the wheel,$800 what speed was it clocked at;;;;;;;
