  1. Am sure some BRIGHT one will come along to show you the way. Just make sure you are not LED astray. Lets see if the BULB comes on Not to make LIGHT of your question sorry couldn't resist
  2. The gas filler sits in nice and snug with the petrol filler. Only notice it is in there when you open it up.
  3. I have LPG on the aurion which of course uses the same motor. Love it and it runs like a dream. Read the post over in the Aurion forum. I have the Orbital Direct injection system which I find much better than the vapour system I had on my last vehicle which had the 289 Windsor in it.
  4. Already have the LPG system on mine. I got the Orbital Direct injection system and am real happy with it. It actually has more power on the LPG. More get up and go. If anything like my old bomb that I had it on it may lose about 10kph on the top end but who can get up there nowadays. I didn't get the toroidal, as much as I wanted it I got a really really good deal on the installation so didn't argue the point. Cost me $2250 then I get govt discount so $1250 for the install. My tank holds 65litres so get around 530k on country run and around 470k per tank around town. Works out around 11-12 kpl Driving around town on petrol I usually hover around the 9.5-10 pl on petrol so not much difference between the two. Getting the 8c pl of at coles and woolies at the moment and my fuel costs me 50 cpl. Gotta love it. IF I do 15000 k this year I have made my money back
  5. Hey there. Where did you get your door sills from? From what I can see they are metal and underlit.
  6. Only ones I can think of at the moment in that size are the Maxxis 205/40r17 MA-V1's Bound to be others but cant think of them at the moment. Changing to a 215 or a 45 series may make life easier for you. What size are you running at the moment?
  7. Some of these figures a strange for the economy you are getting. Have just had my car put on LPG and I am getting 470k to a tank around town and 520 country and that is on 63 litres. SO around 11k\l Costs me about 35 bucks. On petrol I was getting around 9.5 k\l running around town and around 7.5 on a country trip.. The missus strangely enough has the fuel usage showing around 10.5 around town. And when I am driving I seem to push the car harder than she does. LPG seems to give me more power as well which is a bonus.
  8. Wont guarantee it as am sure there are others here that can confirm but until then. Yes you would be correct. Simple matter of changing the bulb for a different k value
  9. Have recently put HID kit in mine and replaced the bulbs of course and there was no need to remove the bumper. Hands will fit in there and I aint got small hands by any means. SirNed
  10. Out of curiosity what sort of rims are you replacing?
  11. As for the vinyl repair check with the panel beater as they use people to repair it all the time. I did the same and have 4 jobs done and only cost me 80 bucks. Cash job. As for the chips repaint time
  12. To check if it is the belts the best lube is a bar of soap. Just hold it against the belt. Make sure you take some care and not put your fingers through the pulleys. The blood makes them slippery :)
  13. I like the BOwdens myself. Can get it from most Autobarns or delivered from thier site as well/ http://www.bowdensown.com.au/node/407
  14. Dont know if you have already but have seen these advertised on fleabay.
  15. As simple as it says. Looking for an alternator for the mighty 87 rolla. Nothing fancy but the good little runabout has need of one. If you have one stashed away please give me a yell. Prefer in Brissy area just to save on postage but let me know and may work something out. THanks
  16. Curios about condition and price of windscreen, fuel pump and suspension front and back?
  17. The transmission itself would be pretty safe. Not real sure about the Klugers diffs but usually the only time it was a problem was if the diff was very hot and when you went through water the temp change caused it to suck in water past the seals. Generally though you should be fine. Easy way to check is remove the filler plug and stick your finger in the oil. (make sure diff oil is not hot) If frothy looking then you have water in there. Fixed up some typos
  18. Actually I was just thinking wasn't it British Tobacco company saying what they make is good. As you said need to do your own research not just listen to advertising\marketers.
  19. Found on this forum. http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-982.html Bit lenghty Says a lot but still wondering about the silicone included. Be nice to have two of the same car to try it out on over a few years. Originally posted by Prophecy I was reading an article on how some Products (maybe Armor ALL) or other interior cleaners may actually cause your dash board to crack. The way it was explained was, if the cleaning agent has too much water or silicone it will absorb into material and can sweat. Causing the dash board material to expand and crack. First of all, modern plastic dashes, (this includes vinyl, which is a type of plastic), are far more advanced in their chemistry than vinyl dashes 30, 20 and even 10 years ago. Just like most things, when new technology comes along to make a product better, most companies adopt it. I can’t say that I have seen too many dashes on modern cars crack. The way older vinyl dashes were made, a Plasticizer was included in the vinyl to help make the plastic soft, elastic and flexible. Over time, and exposure to heat and direct sunlight, the plasticizers in the vinyl break down, deteriorate and the vinyl becomes hard and brittle and susceptible to cracking instead of flexing. Some vinyl protectants in the past used a plasticizer in their formula to soften the vinyl to make it flexible, and keep it flexible. Here was the problem with that, there’s an old saying, ”Like products dissolve like products”, this was the case with the plasticizer in some protectant products, it had a tendency to dissolve and leach out the vinyl’s original plasticizers prematurely thus accelerating the deterioration process. This could lead to cracking in vinyl dashes because the vinyl became more brittle and hard. An analogy is your finger nails. When your fingernails are hard and brittle, they will crack. After exposing them to water for an extended period of time, shower, swimming, bath, hot tub, etc. your fingernails become soft and flexible, much less prone to cracking or breaking. Because of new technology used to make plastics, plasticizers in products are no longer an issue. Meguiar’s vinyl products contain no plasticizers. Meguiar’s vinyl products don’t use any ingredients that are harmful to vinyl, and in fact just the opposite. Some of Meguiar’s vinyl protectants contain safe and gentle chemical cleaners to help clean the vinyl so you don’t seal and trap dirt and dust into the surface. Meguiar’s M-40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner (http://www.meguiars.com/store_meguiars/product_detail.cfm?parentURL=index_pro.cfm&sku=M-40) is an example of a vinyl protectant that contains a safe chemical cleaner. Other ingredients used in Meguiar’s vinyl products are in their to block out UV rays which fade the vinyl by breaking down the pigments used to give vinyl it’s color. Some ingredients add protection by leaving behind a coating that water proofs vinyl and prevents staining. Specialized ingredients penetrate into the vinyl and create beauty while helping to maintain flexibility. Other ingredients, such as silicones are added to create shine. By the way, Meguiar’s uses no harmful silicones in any of the products. Silicones are inert, they have no negative effect to the surface or material they are applied to. In some formulas they ad shine, in some formulas the improve application and removal which is a benefit to the user. Anybody know more about this and how does Meguiar’s compare? Maybe somebody from Meguiar’s can provide some numbers of the water % or silicone % of their products and maybe their competitors. Thanks Proph Under R&D, I am under strict restriction that will not let me share proprietary information. I am not allowed to discuss formula ingredients specifically, or formulas in general. Competitors watch Meguiar’s like hawks, always looking for ways to obtain information, or advantage. So while I’m interested in how things work, and I know all of you are interested in how things work, there is only so much information I can relate and after that, you simply must try for yourself, the product, or products in question and determine with your eyes whether or not you like the results. In some cases, you must place your trust in a company and have faith that the ingredients in a product are the finest ingredients available, and included in a formula for a specific purpose. In the case of Meguiar’s products, the ingredients used in any particular formula are chosen because they are either beneficial to the surface, or beneficial to the procedure.
  20. Bought an EA falcon of a mate who had his own taxis. By the time I got rid of it two years later it had done 1.3 million K's. On LPG all its life, still original motor. Although the gearbox had been rebuilt twice and the diff replaced once. Still ran pretty well for its age. Only sold it as I was going overseas.
