  1. Cheers - sorry I didn't mean for that post to sound kinda rude if it did. But yeah it would make sense given most are on the west side, although could be good to change it up, make some of the others travel a little ways for a change hahahahah If you've got ideas for the next one start planning :D I'm keen to see any/all of Melbourne! I don't think a meet-up and depart time is set yet, if the idea is to have lunch at Sky High (although some mentioned that might be too exy) then you'd want to meet-up at the car park that was suggested around 11/11:30 and depart around 12. I don't know any of the area but then I'm guessing you'd go with the idea of trying to park up there with the view and grab some snaps and then eat *shrugs* In the first post it was mentioned that most of the ZRE boys were going to meet-up for a car wash beforehand, and get to the mountain some time around lunch, but no real time was locked in... Reckon we could go through Kinglake again, it's really quite a nice drive :D
  2. Well how about we make Diamond Creek the ending point?? Johnnie etc have done a lot of work to put together the first post and a starting point, but the ending of the cruise wasn't quite finalised. I think going back out via Yarra Glen could be a good ending to it all :) And then it's an easy place for all of us to depart from. Works for me anyway as it points me closer to the Calder hahahahah Plus I'm happy with the current start time/location cos it gives me the opportunity to go and pick up the tail lights and then meet up with you all. Not that it's all about me but given I don't get down to Melb very often at all I need to fit that pick up in as well (I will be staying in Melb [Airport West] the night before so I can make this - going to be a long drive home for me afterwards so didn't want to do that as well in the morning to get down there) I think this month it's more about catching up and taking some photos, rather than actually driving around, but I do get what you're saying :) I reckon you should map out a big drive for the next one heheheh Just my thoughts on that :) Lol and 30 cars?? That would be an incredible achievement - I reckon if we do get the 18 that are listed it will be awesome, given we have struggled for numbers a bit in the past. Really really happy that we are getting together on a relatively regular basis Edit: I just read through your first post again Johnnie - you guys might need to be up and about earlier, wouldn't you want to be at the foot of the mountain to meet by midday? Unless I read that wrong but it sounded like you guys weren't leaving Sunshine until 12:30.
  3. Looks good Pete - lots of eating in there heheheh So SkyHigh would be the initial lunch stop then?? Also I think I've discovered the meeting point you're talking about, it's up a ways once you start on Mount Dandenong Tourist Rd, turn off left and there is lots of angle parking. That the one you mean? Just checking out Google's satellite imagery/street view to try and orientate myself a bit before going ;) Well given there are obviously going to be many cars on the road we'll just have to do as best we can and communicate the stops with each other early - UHF radios would definitely be a big plus for each car if possible too :) It's definitely going to be more of a leisure cruise (with some fun bits hehehe) at any rate to account for all the traffic no doubt, although hopefully we'll get a great run! I'm sure we will :D
  4. Sounding good - I'll have to check out the videos when I get home tonight :) All of that sounds good so someone hurry up and put together a schedule lol! What time would we want to start in the morning? I'll stay down in Melb the night before so it's easier for me in the morning and I'll take a detour on the way to the meet in the morning to pick up my tail lights (am told they live on the way) :D Lunch sounds great too, are we planning to have an evening meal as well or breaking up some time in the late afternoon? I can do dinner although probably wouldn't hang around late cos it'd be around a 3 hour drive back to Bendigo and I've gotta work the next morning (fail). I just can't wait! :D
  5. Hey - well it really all depends what happens with this clutch stuff, cos that was definitely an unexpected nasty At this stage I'm 50-50 but am definitely interested. Fantastic that our attendance list is still growing :D Looking forward to catching up with "old" faces and meeting some new ones as well
  6. Bahahahaha!! Well hopefully she can come along and enjoy herself :) This is looking absolutely awesome guys - slight bad news on my front, whilst I will definitely be coming along I may be coming along with a clutch that doesn't allow me to push the car. To my horror the other day I heard the clutch squeaking (and some of you may remember me commenting on a burning smell in the car after the last run). Last night I took it past a clutch specialist who promptly informed me that the clutch is 2/3 of the way GONE Not happy for a car that has 36,000km on the clock. Good part is the car is under warranty, although now it'll be a fight to see if they will cover it. I rang Bendigo and got the same stupid r'tard that thought my car wasn't under warranty last time (or a manual) and they reckon it could be considered normal wear and tear. So I'm sussing out Wangaratta Toyota instead (they know my grandparents well) because it's not going back to Bendigo or the dodgy bro's at Airport Toyota (where the car came from). Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, I'm just so angry and upset about it. But! The car is certainly driveable and May 16th is still a few weeks away - if Toyota will come to the party I will be sporting a new clutch by then hopefully, otherwise I'll be making do with what I've got and saving up for a heavier duty sports one to replace it with. Best of luck on your recon run guys, am really really looking forward to it all especially as I have never been to the Dandenongs before :D
  7. Gee that's looking like an awesome turnout :D Good mix of cars again too! Wonder if Lee has seen this topic yet? I'll leave him a note on that new messenging sidebar thingy.
  8. Well I thought the Dandenongs was locked in and I also thought it was agreed we're going to make it Sunday the 16th of May, so I'm not sure how the list for the 2nd of May started popping up again. I can still make it on the 2nd but it'd need to be put together pretty quickly as the 2nd is fast approaching. Hahahahah well she'll be in your car, so sure :P
  9. Heheh - shouldn't the date for that list be Sunday the 16th of May??
  10. Thanks for the info Tash and Ronnyboy! Looks like I will go 235 on all 4 Thanks again No worries :) Best of luck with the wheels! And make sure you share some pictures of the results :D
  11. Wait, I forgot to add, long walks on the beach! Sounds good, can't wait! Might have an extra mod on by then.. :D Hahah well if there's a beach in/near Bendigo I'm definitely missing out! :P Ooo, nice! I wanna know what it is now!! :D
  12. Awesome!! Really really looking forward to it :D You better update the thread title now hehehehe Thanks again for organising too, if we all share the load and help out each other it really shouldn't be hard to get something regular happening :) Looking forward to the results of the recon run! Interesting? It can just be lovely views, nice drive and nice places to take some snaps. Doesn't have to be a spirited drive.. :) Hahah well that's the hard part, I've been looking for ways to go where the scenery and that is the key but am struggling to come up with any concrete ideas. Working on it though ;) ooooOOoo ;) Hahaha change that from 'may' to 'will' :D Just gotta lay down the deposit on pay day (Wednesday) and they're mine - will pick 'em up before we meet up for the cruise.
  13. Hmm.. might have to consult Camry Stuff then for a manual on taking that off :)
  14. Hahaha I think we did, the only problem is there's not many interesting roads my way, although I can't vouch for the Macedon area - Nathan and I are thinking of checking it out one weekend. So yeah maybe one of these next times we'll make it so! Lol Excellent! Would be great to see you guys again, and I'd love to see the rexy in person :D Might not be a totally spirited drive from me this time around though as I may have some very precious cargo on board (LED tails) hehehe We gunna lock in the 16th?
  15. Hmmm cheers for that info :) Although pulling them apart is something I'm not that keen on.. :/
  16. Is there much modification involved to get them working right and up to ADR standard though?? I've been interested in their tail lights as well but was a bit put off by some of their negative feedback. But if they're the mob you bought off I'd probably be willing to give them a shot.
  17. Hi there - I am no tyre expert but I had an absolute cow of a time finding wheels I liked to suit my '06 Sportivo. I don't know if this helps you given it's a different wheel size, but I've got "18 Enforcers on, 18 x 8 at a +38 offset on 235/40/18 and I've got no issues whatsoever, great fitment and the wheels look fantastic (as my signature pic can attest). If you haven't already looked the Wheels and Tyres section of the forum is pretty helpful and I believe quite a few members have posted about their fitments and posed similar questions. I don't imagine you'd have any issues with 235 width tyres. Good luck!
  18. Ahh, interesting thoughts. I'm thinking much the same, for the on and off time that I hear it (occasionally when I drive and passengers don't want the stereo on) it's just not worth it. Experienced exactly the same with two dealers, Airport Toyota in particular. That's not a bad idea Trent, reckon it'd be easy enough to spot if the door trim were taken off? Although as I said above it's not a massive issue.
  19. Hahahah no you don't count Trent :P If my mates can drive an eBay-special Datsun from Sunbury to Sydney with no issues, what's stopping you? I did Syd->Mel return twice last year in a car 10 years older than yours. Harden up :) I agree mate it's not that far...so much for all these wicked/modded rides in Vic,seems there to fragile to do roughly a 2000km road trip. Come on Vic members as Tats suggests make an effort, this is becoming a little embarrassing with our numbers so far,i'm hoping for a bigger number as we get closer to the date. and i hope i don't read the enevitable posts when it's all over and we are all talking about what a great time we had,you know how they go....ohhh man spewing i didn't make this, looks like you guys had fun (errr yeah),can't wait for the next one (my personal fav),damn i missed it i slept in,ect ect. :P Totally agree Lee - even if you can't/don't want to drive up there surely there are some pretty reasonable air fares going. I mean QLD'ers made it to the Vic meet for goodness sake. If we can't get to Sydney then yeah, there's something wrong. I reckon those posts afterward should be deleted lol Only allowed to post if you actually went heheheh Either way I'm sure this is going to be an outstanding event with a great turnout, I can't wait to see what these surprise categories are! Can tell I'll be spending a lot of my weekends until then doing A LOT of work with the Camry to get her looking schmick :D Unfortunately no cash for mods now until after the meet, all funds going towards the trip - but well worth it!!
  20. Yeah 16th is okay for me too :) Would have happily helped do a recon run (except can't this weekend) but it's a fair bit of travelling for me. Wish there were nicer areas to drive closer my way lol No moving photography from me though if the 16th is a goer cos Barb will be in Bali, so someone else should get a passenger to do some photography!
  21. Let me know asap. See if it could be me, you, tom and jay. Hope the exams pan out, I need some more Victorian faces up there with me hehehehe So so excited and have started counting down the days until my holidays and the meet :D
  22. Sunday 25th April - <insert name> Monday 26th April - dwee. - <insert name> Sunday 2nd May - dwee. - Tash - <insert name>
  23. Lol no I don't have a bus, but when you find one I'll book one of the passenger spots!! :D
  24. Heheh definitely up for a night of going out - somewhere with good tunes, good drinks and then the good times are guaranteed! :D I definitely vote you should do a test run Pete lol Getting much much closer now
  25. Hey guys that all sounds fantastic to me - my wingwoman aka camerawoman aka Barb is keen to come along again too :D Dandenong's run sounds great, you must have read my mind because Nathan and I were thinking of checking out the Mt Macedon area as well one weekend soon to see if it's suitable. One suggestion though, the last Sunday of this month is probably no good because it'll be Anzac Day, might have to be the end of next month or maybe the first Sunday in May which is the 2nd. Just think you will struggle for numbers on Anzac Day. Anyhoo, all looks great so hopefully with a combined effort we can get something regular happening :)
