  1. Cheers Dave - very handy to know :) There's another small project to add on the weekend heheh
  2. Yeah well that's exactly it, I reckon they have gone up a fair bit in price since the last time I looked at them :( Not cool.. Hahah Daryl & Nathan - I will stay out of that one! Isn't your rear sway bent Nathan? :P
  3. try meguiars PLASTX for youe bonnet and headlight protectors B) works wonders for me Cheers :D I will have to give that a go then!
  4. Well I wouldn't mind doing that this time around because I get the Monday off (Labour Day public holiday) to recover :) Cos that cruise is a good 7hrs+ worth of driving for me when you include the trip down from Bendigo and back home again. Excellent, well we will lock in the date then :D Looking forward to seeing those new shoes too! That's a pretty good idea Lee, I'd have to get my thinking cap on for some roads; there is some very pretty countryside but not many good twists and turns. My knowledge of NE Vic is better than around Bendigo as that's where I grew up, but that's too far to travel. How about the cruise route that was abandoned for last year's meet? I.E. to Marysville?? Could do what we did for the October meet last year and start off down near Hurstbridge and go through King Lake up to Marysville. Me too - would be great to see all the 'regulars' again as well as those who have been unable to make the first few. If everyone could spread the word that'd be awesome :D
  5. Okay, seeings no one has really kicked anything off just yet here is some "blank space" to start planning our next meet-up! Since I couldn't make the last cruise I am keen to catch up with you all again, so has anyone got any suggestions? Thinking we could make this maybe the 7th of March? ** Update 05/03/10 So it's been decided that we will be having a cruise on Sunday the 7th March :D We will kick off from Hurstbridge again and use part of the cruise route from last October, heading up to Kinglake, then Healesville, then to Marysville and stopping for lunch there, then down to Warburton and back into the city through Lilydale. We will then be winding up somewhere in the city for dinner. Please meet up at 10:30am for an 11am SHARP departure from our meeting point at the McDonald's restaurant in Diamond Creek (just before the railway line) (Location details in the route map available for download below) You can download the cruise route here: http://www.gcompservice.com/tocau/TOCAU%20...Cruise%20V3.doc Attendance list so far: 1. Tofuboi - Cruise (No Dinner) 2. Tash - Cruise & Dinner 3. 1stKill - Cruise & Dinner 4. Guni - Cruise & Dinner ** Maybe not now ** 5. SportivoPSI - Cruise (No Dinner) 6. jaderd - Cruise (No Dinner) 7. 78_7kRolla - Cruise & Dinner 8. Blind Kid Seeks - Cruise & Dinner 9. dwee. - Cruise (No Dinner)
  6. Apologies for reviving an older thread but I noticed the second question -DAvo posted regarding plastic polish went unanswered - has anyone had any experience in using this?? I want to clean both my headlight and bonnet protectors (necessities for all my country driving) and there are two products available, Mothers Plastic Polish or Meguiars PlastX, both of which are around $22 a bottle. Or are you better off taking them off and just going with soapy water?
  7. Hi all - I want to clean my alloy pedals in the Sportivo, they just have a bit of grime and what not on them and I'd like them to shine again. What has everyone used to achieve the best results? One product I did have in the back of my head is Brasso, the stuff you use to clean aluminium pots and pans, but I'm not sure whether that would be too abrasive. Hints/tips much appreciated :)
  8. +1 to this, although I think it is called Naturally Black now, at least that is the bottle I have. Used it today, VERY easy to use, just get a terry towel/microfibre cloth (I've got Kenco re-usable ones), put it on and let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe off. It has had a dramatic effect on my foglight surrounds, wing mirror surrounds and so on. I like that polish idea though too silvabullit :)
  9. Wow and I thought I was pedantic...Although I spose my weekend routine is a few hours in one hit, rather than having a couple of goes at it during the week. But I am up for a challenge too :D So there will be A LOT of work go into the car before the mega meet in Sydney in June hehehe Every weekend I do the lot, wash, vacuum (even if there is like 1 hair on the carpet), polish all glass, dress the wheels, Quik detailer inside and out, interior cleaner, interior fragrance. I am still searching for the right product with which to polish my pedals though..Oh and something to clean my bonnet and headlight protectors. So I'm off to check out the show and shine forum now lol Well today I spent about an hour with the car in the morning - I tell you I am in love with Mother's Naturally Black, it has had a massive effect on my foglight surrounds in particular, as well as mirrors, door pillars and whatever that black bit is called underneath the rear bumper. Oh and my grille lol Very very easy to use so I will be adding that to my monthly major car clean. I also put the TRD grille badge on today and replaced the licence plate lights, waiting now until it is dark so I can see the full results of that. Will post some piccies of the badge later in the week as the car is needing a wash. Next weekend project I think is an engine bay clean, although when I was poking around under there today it's actually in pretty good shape.
  10. Nawww, I'm glad that one of my shots is amongst your faves - we got some great snaps that day :) Pretty good picture I must say for a Kodak digital cam that must be at least 5 years old now - I am too 'scared' to go buy a new one when this one takes such beautiful pictures. And yes, I will never be relying on Google Maps alone if I ever plan another cruise... There are some stunning Aurion's here, it really is a beautiful car but hey, how can it not be when it shares so much with a Camry? :P Hahahah.. Great that we've got the full range of colours and models here too :D They are all amazing shots
  11. Very interesting reading overall - this is probably one of the next things on my list, getting the front strut and rear sway. I don't mind a bit of spirited cornering heheh, especially on our cruises! Seems like the best combo for the Camry would be to stick to the 19mm rear sway then, just looking on the Ultra Racing website now and it's the only choice available anyway. Definitely a price increase though, $218 now for the front strut and $323 for the rear sway, plus $17 postage for each item. Seeings the thread has been revived could we maybe get a group buy going? Try and get a bit of a discount heheh
  12. G Sport..... Say it out loud.. sounds like G-SPOT -.- Hahah, you'd probably be feeling it in your g-spot after a few minutes riding in it :P Verrrrrrrrry nice though
  13. Hello and welcome! :) Some great mods you've got there so far - would love to see the reaction from people when you play the air horn! Heheh
  14. Hello and welcome :) I don't actually think I've seen one of these before - seen Corolla wagons but certainly no Sports ones, very interesting!
  15. G'day and welcome! Sure you'll find plenty of info on audio set-ups here, the Search function will also be a great help :)
  16. Another beautiful ZRE Lots of them up that way, can't wait to get to the mega meet in June! The fox alloys do look great on it as well and it sits so nice :D Can't wait to see the results of your future mods too, especially the angel eyes!
  17. Welcome aboard :) Very nice looking Stivo you've got there! Any other plans for the near future?
  18. Hahah wow, here's a blast from the past! Well my situation is still the same - single & sick of it! So when are we combining a meet with some speed dating? Rofl
  19. Ahh bugger, although I'm not surprised given when I checked it yesterday there were only about 3 names on the confirmed list. I wonder if we can send a PM to the guy who was organising it and see who might ship two sets here. Cheers will do - is a long way down the track at any rate, gunna take me a couple of months to pay off these wheels first! Hahahah..
  20. Wow Lee she is looking amazing - loving the ride height as is but as has been mentioned now you have full control :D Now if only I could win tattslotto and do the same *sigh* Lol seems none of us can help ourselves when it comes to getting some new wheels! Out of the above I'd have to go with the Type-F's too, very schmick
  21. These results are great :D I'm definitely going to have a thorough read of that TN thread when I get the time. Damn you all and these brilliant things to do, here is yet another potential project for my Camry :P
  22. Ahh cheers - I had a quick look at that topic yesterday but it didn't have seemed to have moved too much. If they are only going to be $195 US and then some shipping I'd probably jump at it given US ebay sells them for around $300 US then shipping on top. Which pictures on that topic are the correct ones though? I was having a hard time deciding what would look better: black or smoked ! :D Leaning towards black so there wouldn't be any unwanted attention from the coppers as the smoked was probably a bit too dark. Oh good, although this is seriously going to drain my bank account LOL Quick question though, would the springs be fine for the Sportivo? Just thinking that it will all have a bit of a different set-up than the Altise.
  23. They take a bit of force. They are reasonably indestructible. I've removed and inserted one dozens of times and it stills grips well. The 'barb' things are soft enough to withstand being flexed, but hard enough to provide the grip. If you manage to snap one (commonly done if using pliers to remove them), you can pick up a pack of 10 for a dollar or two. Ahh excellent, thanks for that info :) Would go out there and give it a crack today but now the wind is too icy! Definitely a project for one night this week though :D Tash mate; if you want a step by step way of changing your parkers just drop me a PM. its a fair amount of work just to change 2 simple small globes though. Oh that would be brilliant - although do you fancy helping me do it if I drop down one weekend? You're right though it's a fair amount of work hence something I'm not too keen to try by myself, but the end result is great as proven by your avatar :)
  24. Ahh cheers Daryl you are an absolute legend, I will have to frequent the Aurion board more often :) Man though, they must be in there tight as a bloody drum cos I tried pulling them as well and they just will NOT come out. But I guess basically I can't really destroy them can I? So if I apply a bit more force I won't break anything.
