  1. Man oh man the results of that product spoke for themselves - so many minor paint defects are gone along with some minute white coloured scratches - I am thoroughly impressed :D Plus I did the whole car by hand with it and I haven't even used 1/4 of the bottle! Big props to Meguiars on that product
  2. +1 to this! Here are my results: Taken on my iPhone - unfortunately the digital camera had a flat battery. Pics don't quite do it the full justice, in person it is positively glowing Process: Washed, clay bar, applied Meguiars Ultimate Compound to the entire car (man that product is brilliant - would highly recommend it), applied SwirlX to a few panels (not needed over entire car - there are a few places I might have to buff a bit harder next time) then used to Mothers Wax Attack Palm Polisher to finish off with a polish then a wax :D All ready to head to Sydney now heheheheh

    My Corolla

+1 to this - I didn't manage to get a real close up at the last meet but I'm sure there will be another time!
  4. I generally use Meguiars Glass Cleaner (the non acid one in the maroon bottle) on both the insides and outsides of my windows and I find that tends to help bead wise, although I would like to try RainX. They stay pretty clean between washes and the water runs off pretty well. Although I will try your suggestion on the weekend Davo and clay bar the windows as well out of curiosity :)
  5. That's a real shame Ash, was looking forward to meeting you and that lovely Aurion :D Maybe 2011 Annual Meet Brisbane?? Mish - PM sent.
  6. Heheh hello! :) Oo a Gen 6 with HID's and audi-style lights would be interesting - get a photo next time Reece!
  7. It's too far to drive from Melbourne to Sydney! LOL. They are soft indeed <giggles like a little girl> hmmm that's a shame ! Hey, count me out of that category please! :P I will be going from Bendigo to Bright and then to Sydney - can't wait!!
  8. ROFL! O....M....G....! Only in America hey? It was hard to suppress the laughter given how quiet the office is! These people seriously don't think their cars are hot do they? There are so many vehicles I felt sorry for... imagine what the designers must think :o Dunno what the go is with that splatter effect either - I am very very scared.
  9. You mean: I'll keep CarsRUs in mind Andrew cos there are some angel eye headlights for the Gen 6 that I am going to buy as soon as possible right? :) Hahahah... perhaps!! Although I better get these tail lights in first
  10. Awesome write up Davo! Love that you have the time/patience to test all this out, the results definitely show, especially in those night shots, you can see it reflecting nicely :D I'd love to be able to try this out, but unfortunately live in Bendigo with all its bloody water restrictions and no yard I could possibly hope to hide in to do it in secret lol
  11. Yes.. unfortunately the engine bay in these cars is less than desirable in terms of colour lol Great looking Aurion though, and fantastic to have another gold cousin heheheh They're some fantastic home made mods too, particularly the carbon fibre interior :) Best of luck with whatever the next project is!
  12. Funny you should mention that, at the Thursday Brisbane meets one of the boys mentioned a bad transaction with this seller. 4 months to get a replacement foglight. If CarsRUs have them, I'd recommend them. Ordered and paid on Thursday, arrived Friday. Wow, well there you go! When I was looking into getting lights originally these guys (Mars Performance) kept popping up and when I went through the feedback there were a heap of things about poor returns/faulty products/products not being the correct fitment. I also didn't like that in their very fine print they state that whilst they have a "storefront" in Moorabbin (sorry if I spelt that incorrectly) the items will most likely be shipped from China. I'll keep CarsRUs in mind Andrew cos there are some angel eye headlights for the Gen 6 lol
  13. Spotted white 'rolla in Sunshine about midday yesterday with the plates 'TOYTRD' - anyone on here?? I caught up for a bit to go side by side to grin and say g'day heheheheh :D
  14. I can't say anything about those tail lights in particular, but I recently required an LED set that hail from the United States, so they will be very similar. I purchased mine from a member who had them on his Camry previously and they were a fit but I'm just having a bit of difficulties in doing this for myself; both the seller and a fellow member on here have been very helpful and offered a lot of advice. My 'problem' is finding someone who will help me fit them as it looks like taking off the rear bumper is a necessity to fit them. Other than that, they are relatively plug and play, you just need to remove globes from holders and the reverse bulbs are not a direct fit - again, this is just the advice I've received as I'm still yet to fit mine. Once I get mine in I'll be happy to offer advice to any else!! Oh, also I wasn't that keen on that seller either, if you have a look at their feedback they actually had a fair bit of negative/neutral feedback about their products... But, other members on here have bought great products from them *shrugs*

    Project 5S-GTE

So sorry to hear this Mick :( Damn that sux! But, the Yaris will be representing well :D And, to think on the real positive side, it gives you another year to get the Celica really going for the next annual meet!! (which I'm guessing will be in Brisbane)
  16. Interesting idea Pete - I actually don't mind it and I think the other comments are spot on, definitely fits in if you're keeping to a black/white combo. Plus then it matches the windows and surrounds as well which would blend in better maybe?
  17. Hey Tinz - the only thing I can think of is usually heat expands things, so maybe things just don't fit quite right when its a bit cooler? That's pretty bad though that kind of noise :( I am really happy with this Camry overall but I will agree on the build quality, my '95 Camry felt more 'invincible' in terms of build quality. But warranty is always a good indicator, I'm a bit of a sceptic in the sense that if they are selling all these new cars these days, and its all manufacturers, with 3-5 year warrantys and then some then it sounds like they are preparing for things to go wrong. Some would say its peace of mind, and I have got that given mine's under warranty until 2013, but yeah... And of course it's always the consumable items that they won't cover that seem to go. But! I would still recommend the Camry, get daily driver with some potential, and I'm really happy with the way mine's coming along :D I will definitely be sussing out that hole in the carpet when I get the opportunity.
  18. Well I've got some great replies again from Ray and Rob, just need to provide a couple more pictures. Now to work out how I take the globes out gently, how I take the rear boot pieces out and how to take the rear bumper off if need be. Will have to trawl that Camry manuals site at some stage over the weekend I reckon!
  19. Yeehaw!!! Only 9 more working days til I'm on holidays :D Soooooo excited!! Can't wait for all of the events :D
  20. As a 'lurker' on this topic I appreciate the advice offered here too - it is very helpful for beginners :) Will definitely be applying Ultimate Compound and Swirl X by hand next weekend.
  21. That's a really great idea U54MOT, can't believe I didn't see your reply to my thread earlier, am definitely going to have a look around in there then! And you're right camfan, it only happens when cornering and even then only occasionally. I've never been that great at hearing, these days I just turn the music on and ignore the rattles lol Cheers for the compliment on the shine :D It's pretty much just good elbow grease, it had a polish/wax in November and that photo (in my sig) was taken in mid-January. Due for another full polish and wax next weekend as well as some scratch removal stuff. I am a fanatic car cleaner, gets a wash every fortnight at least, sometimes weekly in summer. Then a good dry down and go over inside and out. The colour helps too lol, just stands out all on its own :)
  22. Car's coming along well Johnnie :D Maybe go the superlows? From what I have read/heard sounds like that will give you more of the drop you're after. Hope that stuff works out after the CAI install as well :) And the TRD lip will look hawt :D :D :D

    Jap's TRD Hilux

What a beaut ute!! Fantastic looking 'Lux, loving those angel eyes as well and credit to you on the performance mods thus far, this thing is definitely going to be a monster :D
  24. Cheers for the input guys! I think I'll just go with the King lows and get some new shocks a little later, the rear sway is first on the list so that puts the kings on hold for a couple of months. You're right Andrew, it is already pretty low at the front, so I'd say with this driveway I am screwed; I will try to take a picture for you at some point Pete but Nathan's MS Paint piccy sums it up pretty well!! I've picked up my tail lights but am having a couple of dramas in fitting them, auto sparkies want $100 plus to rewire it all, Jaycar reckons I can just snip off the ends and solder it myself, and two people who have fitted them suggest they should just be plug and play, so I am very confused!! Going to send them some pics as well to verify, but here's what the back of them looks like: A view of the rear boot piece - no idea what this red end is supposed to connect to, brake I think. The remaining hole is for the reverse light, but it doesn't fit properly. Getting new T10 globe holders has been mentioned... The two bulbs that belong with the rear boot piece, I think black is the brake light, which is a problem in terms of matching up with the red end coming off the new lights, and the grey bulb is the reverse, which doesn't fit snugly in the hole. And here's the big piece - the indicator isn't a problem, its a direct fit in that spare hole. However, the one for brake and lights connects to the black plug you see here, which isn't a direct fit. So yeah, any input on that is appreciated too - no friggin idea which way to go to get these suckers in!
  25. Lookin good!! Was great to meet you in person on Sunday - hope to catch up again at a future meet :)
