  1. Very nice! +1 to the mods already :) Are you enjoying this as a daily driver?? Haven't seen one actually driving around here in Bendigo yet (although that's not surprising) except for a black one that the dealer here had. Bit of a shame that the sales seem so low as it's a nice car. Best of luck with all the future plans :D
  2. Aha, that hadn't entered into my head, although I'm not quite sure how I'd achieve it, unless I could use a good old steam mop?
  3. Cheers for the suggestions Andrew & Daryl, I guess either way a fair bit of elbow grease is going to be involved!
  4. Hey guys, as the title suggests just looking to gain some info from your experiences in cleaning carpet floor mats. I've got a rather nice set (with the metal stamped "Sportivo" on them, technically they're Aurion floor mats) but winter has had its effect and there is a little bit of mud/dirt in them and the metal stamp is looking dull. Now I figure I can take to the metal stamp with a bit of car wash and hard scrubbing and then maybe something like a chrome polish or Ultimate Quik Detailer to really bring back its shine. What about the actual fabric mats?? I have heard of people putting them in the washing machine and am thinking of doing this myself as mine doesn't have an agitator in the middle. Otherwise I have some Meg's Upholstery cleaner (I cannot remember its exact name), so could use that, or just scrub it out with soapy water. Pro tips anyone?
  5. 2-3cm? That's heaps of room! ;) Regarding comfort, should jump into Lee's car first, as it would be somewhat similar to your Camry with coilovers. Hahah if Nathan's Aurion got stuck, and I mean stuck, in the same place there is no way I'm game enough to do it True that, very good point! Lol, at least your cars are lovers though, they do look good together
  6. Ahhh forgot about your evil driveway.. although I have not seen your driveway in person, you said last time that there was no possible way to go up on an angle? If not, I guess you have to go springs/shocks combo as it will be cheaper and more suited to Australian roads compared to imported coilovers. My driveway did not even let a stock Corolla or Yaris go up without going on an angle LOL. Yeah, it's not that bad (for me anyway, I prefer better handling > heaps of comfort). You feel it especially over huge short dips or pot holes in the road or over diagonal railway tracks. But saying that, I can cope with it; some people who love comfort would not be able to. Heheh well I can't even do springs/shocks with this driveway - as it stands I barely clear it in stock, if you stop towards the peak of the driveway and get out, I have maybe 2-3 cm between the asphalt and my side skirts lol Your driveway sounds just as evil though :( That's a good point about comfort though, I don't really know what I would prefer honestly
  7. Think it will just be springs & shocks when the time comes - the current driveway definitely rules it out so exhaust is probably next on the agenda. It'd be interesting to go for a spin in the 'rolla now it has the coilovers; can't say I've had that many ride experiences with them although I didn't find Anthony's (Stylsh) car that bad in Sydney, and their roads were terrible lol Looking forward to whatever this next project is though :)
  8. Looking great Pete!! Glad it all worked out for you in the end, the result is well worth it :D You coilover lot make me jealous lol, seem to be leaning more that way now heheh Can't wait to check it out in person at the next meet
  9. Phwoar!!! What a ripper burnout and vid - that is one mean Aurion! Very noice
  10. Sounds like a pretty sweet ICE upgrade to me Andrew :D Can't wait to see (and hear!) the results I want some whine lol (cue winning the lottery)
  11. Gawd those foggies are bright!!! Can imagine I'd blind a lot of people using those driving at night in the country hehehehe Easy enough to put in?? I'll have to stitch it up with you one weekend and see if we can do the bulbs in my headlights - how did you get on with the HIDs?? Job well done on the lip kit too, really liking the rear piece :D Did it end up being all that difficult with customs etc? Can't wait to see it painted and on!
  12. Very nice! Quite like the silver Sportivo's, certain character about them :) Best of luck with all the future mods, certainly got a great base to work with
  13. Yeah that's exactly it too Reece - the roads around Bendigo are pretty crappy and some of these car parks I barely clear as it is.. Plus a lot of country driving like to NE Vic and things like that, so if I were to go the coilover way it wouldn't be to drop it totally on its ****, more the handling side of things. No worries about the exhaust, it'll be a way off for me anyway but I'd like to go and suss out some quotes and see how much it would cost to get a second pipe and muffler done to the LH side of the car. Guessing it's gunna be two catbacks + muffler (no clue on brand!) and tips so probably somewhere around the $1000 mark or more *shrugs* Great news on the lip kit, can't wait to see it on! :)
  14. Thanks Davo - a lot of the shine can be attributed to your various advice! :) Am definitely getting better at it and plucking up the courage to try new things. Just waiting til its a bit warmer now until I clay bar again, don't have a garage so rainy days really muck me up! That's what I'm thinking about the coilovers as well, seeings so many of you have got springs and then swapped them for coilovers. And most of your cars are daily drivers so it can't be that rough a ride!
  15. Hooray, I can make this one :D Has all fitted in perfectly and will be in Langwarrin the night before so should be a bit easier to get to Lilydale Lake to meet you all :) Will be taking it easy on this one cos we'll have a boot full of shopping and our bags (spending whole weekend in Melb, Friday shopping day, Saturday Titanic and whatever, Sunday cruise!) but I will have a photographer on board!! 1. Andy - BLind Kid Seeks - AE92SX - route 2. 2. 1stKill - Aurion 3. Kenshin X - Corolla ZZE123R - any route bcuz all new to me 4. dyslexik (row) - ZZE123 5. le.vinh.zr - ZRE152 6. Matt - 78_7kRolla - KE30 - Any route with ample fuel stops/room for a B-double tanker 7. shin0bi (tomeee) - ZRE152 - option 1 (TBA closer to date) 8. Trung (Tru-Star) - ZZE122R - Wateva route will do for me 9. Tash - 06 Camry - Option 2 10.
  16. Well yeah I'd like to do dual exhaust but just not 100% certain on that - it'd look great but its getting the sound I want out of it really is the bit that "scares" me. I don't want it to sound like a droning nothing but at the same time I don't want it to be loud and make a 4 cyl sound like a V8. But am very keen to see how yours turns out as well Reece! There's certainly enough room under the car for it :D Is just gunna take a lot of research, I don't even know where to begin looking up brands etc etc
  17. Cheers Lee - I certainly represented Victoria alright :D Bit disappointed not to come away with anything but had a wonderful time and got some really lovely comments about the car + met a whole heap of great people. I guess that's what I get though for going with after market ones, although the RH one worked like a charm! Hope to be at the next meet in September Lee, definitely want to catch up with everyone :) Would have loved to do the GOR but it was a bit of a tough ask and I was out the night before..

    GTP kit

Yeehaw!!! I know which kit this was :D Great find by Trent, and I can't wait to see the results Adam! Please don't sell it, you've got one great Gen 4 on the go with so much potential!
  19. Far out - can't believe this is the second time in the last couple of months I've seen someone looking for these and it took weeks earlier in the year to sell my set. I didn't think they were that nice looking a rim lol Best of luck with your search, there aren't many of us Gen 6 Sportivo owners on the forum unfortunately, and most of us that have them have already ditched the stock rims. There was a very similar set (without such a flare) on Ebay a short while ago.
  20. Cheers Reece :) Haha, still got those?? The problem is someone who will install them for me - all the places I've spoken to will only install new ones due to warranty issues. Then there's always that itchy bug in the back of my mind saying I should save up for coilovers instead. Hey Adam! Good to hear from you - I definitely have been very very slack when it comes to TOCAU lately :( To answer notes 1 & 2 it all comes down to money!!! I'm still paying off my alloy wheels, whoops So I've basically told myself I'm not allowed to do anything else to the car until those are paid for. Exhaust I have no clue where to get it done, obviously somewhere in Bendigo would be good but don't think there are too many places. And on the lowering thing as well my car actually wouldn't get in the driveway of my current place :( Poor Nathan scraped and got his Aurion stuck on it running King Lows so yeah. But am looking at renting a new place with a friend Dec/Jan so one of the criteria is a flat driveway!! That's flippin awesome about the GTP kit :D That happen to be the one that was listed on Ebay??
  21. Hahah I know!! Very much looking forward to that arriving :D Thanks again for putting that all together Yeah he did thanks and was very helpful, unfortunately I can't get just the LH tail light, I have to get a whole set :( But he was very happy to help me out later in the year in getting another set shipped over so that's great. It'd be good if this one could be repaired but the wiring is frigged, I just don't understand how it can 'sheath' out of the whole connector and pretty much fray... Very frustrating!
  22. Oh oh... grand final day :( Was planning a weekend down to Melbourne to see the Titanic exhibit and what not that day so I will have to suss that out first. Anyone know how far it is from Narre Warren to Warragul? Or where would your meeting point be for Cruise option #2? Liking the sound of #2 a lot better, although it's 2 and a half hours back to Bendigo from Lilydale Lake lol Am keen to come but need to put a bit of planning into this seeings I'd be coming from Bendigo.
  23. Great pics guys - glad you all had a fantastic day!! Wish I could have made it but just didn't fit in that weekend... didn't get home til a bit after midnight on the Sunday morning and was in no state to drive anywhere lol Hoping to make the next one :)
  24. Just a bit of an update, nothing exciting :( Unfortunately the LED tail lights have to come out - the wiring on the LH tail light has totally come out of the moulded connector, so I've been driving around without a brake light or parker light on the LH side and the stock ones are going back in today. But on the plus side they looked fantastic in the car and they were really bright, so I'll be importing another set later in the year hopefully. Got a few things to pay off before anything else happens to the car so I don't anticipate a lot to happen within the next few months other than another clay bar and polish and wax lol On another front it is evident that this car was involved in a collision to the rear and this accident was not disclosed to me prior to sale (the date on the RH stock tail light indicates testing & installation in December 2008, not possible for a car built in July 2006, and it also matches the damage to the inside of my boot) so I am still waiting on a response to a letter I sent to Toyota HQ regarding that and other problems with the RH corner (cosmetic damage mostly - though there was water getting in) of the car. So I'm sort of a bit over it all lately given that not much that's positive is happening!! Anyway, here's hoping this photo works, it's a piccy (big thanks to Trent) of 'Aurora' at the TOCAU Annual meet, show n shine day :D I just love this shot, the car is positively glowing.

    Car cleaning

Pine O'Clean and Mortein?? Dunno that that would result in the best smelling car... I just use a great product called No Vac for deodorising the carpets, it works wonders. As for putting car mats in the wash I've done this with great success, just use the gentler cycle designed for wool/delicate clothing. As for my routine I'm pretty pedantic, I like to wash the car every 2-3 weeks, and I'll wax it again when it gets a bit warmer - too cold here at the moment!! (I don't have a garage) But yeah I vacuum, do the glass, dress the wheels, clean the interior etc etc About once a month I do the really pedantic clean which is to re-blacken all the trims and clean out my air vents etc My car's pretty clean so its generally fairly easy for me but yeah, every so often there are those days when I will spend hours cleaning!! And as someone's already suggested, please get rid of the Armour-all.
