  1. you dont get 141 anywhere, you only get 131 thats the prob you are 10kw short no matter where you measure Apparently we are pegged at 120 KW, as my source from Toyota has informed me, which is a long way short of 141KW.
  2. 2 useless Middle East Facts for the Day: 1. The last shape Camry made in OZ and shipped to the Middle East had to have a different value temperature sensor fitted, because the Saudi's like their cars to run 'cool' on the gauge, so Toyota fitted a different sensor to make the Temp gauge run at around 25%, not around 40 to 50% us Aussies prefer. 2. Middle Easterners will (mostly) drive out of the showroom (with virtually 0k's on clock) and bang straight up to 200km/h as soon as they get onto a free stretch of road, as the car 'has to' do 200km/h........ Wouldn't that be nice to have the available roads here to do that......... :D And without having to drive 1800 or so kays first......ie N.T. Have Fun Bill !! Get the best renta you can afford..... ........ and wring its neck..... :D
  3. I think personally, as much as an 'underlying problem' is toyota's 'average usage' Although our alternator and battery could well be larger......... it is enough to do the job well. Dimming lights are annoying, and a (significantley) bigger battery would alleivate some or most of these problems. The alternator should be able to keep this size battery fully charged most of the time in normal usage ie, given a run after parking with the stereo and parkers on for 2 hrs.
  4. Hey Everyone I'm In :D At least one of the mini-meets, and most likley the afternoon one.....
  5. Oz Sportivo is off the Toyota OZ market and their OZ web site ;)
  6. It is rego : MYTIVO I live in Bentleigh and have seen that car, It has 'just a mum' (no insult to all those mums incl mine!) driving it, so no hope of a forum junkie newbie!!
  7. Im out unfortunatley, I have my little sisters birthday. BTW, I'm off for 2 weeks on tuesday, but will be at the next meet after the 27th.
  8. Thanks for the pics kcorro, they are blue LED's in my dash, after much persistance, I got the light balance just nice, can be done in around 2 to 3 hours to get it nice. And they come up HORN at night :D It's a bit spice girl, but the girls dig it. P.S those tail lights look real nice. I saw the new ones on the OZ update hatch yesterday, and there nice, but not worth the extra to fit I think. Those ones pictured here I'd give a go to.
  9. Oh, BTW, just had the 30k service, (and after the mechanic originally told me the Stivos had a harder fromt pad, hence the disc warp) they tell me i have 5to10,000 left on the pads!! I believe a firm pad should do 60,000+ km. Pecker, keep us posted as to a direct Toyota replacement, as I'm dead keen. I recentley priced an AP setup, but at 3.5K for the job, is a bit pricey :o
  10. GREAT BRAKES???? My front discs are usually warped after 6,000K's, and it is not from being stupid high speed stops, just city-punting.....at pace.
  11. The new model also has rake and REACH adjustable steering colum :D , which I think would be great, as I feel a bit far away from the wheel in relation to my leg length. :( BUT it is now Electro hydraulic assistance, which according to early reviews (AUTOCAR) has bugger-all feel and feedback.
  12. FYI, 2ZZGE engine with new oil filter takes over 4 litres, around 4.4L, so you may have to mix some of that TOM'S with something else.
  13. I also did a 330 convertible, a 2002 model :o He did his traffic light antics with the powered 'hood ......... To show off the trophy blonde in the passenger seat..... B) Lights go green... i get half a car length at 70..... and a car and a half to me as i shift into 3rd..... The whole time I could hear him giving the car s***, so he was going for it.... Again, the BMW is a wonderful engine, but the convertible adds around 120kg to the chassis (around 1650kg total), and thats enough to do it. Put the same engine in the coup hardtop, and I wouldnt have a hope (6.6 0-100, 1500kg)
  14. That wouldn't suprise me shaohaok, first, the batery system is not on the large side for the tivo, if it was larger, it would make up for the tempoary deficit the windows suck out of the system. Second, the windows probably take between 6 and 10 amps to wind each, which is a fair amount. I get dimming lights with the stereo amp on, and that is when I'm driving the car. So when the battery dies, I'd recommend the largest CAPACITY battery you can get in the same size a ours.
  15. I use the Moran leather cleaner and conditioner, It works very well for cleaning and conditioning. Is around $35 for both, and I got it at safeway. Haven't had a major spillage to clean, so can't report on it's effectiveness there, thou it doesn't leave the pinholes full of stuff when I ues it. P.S, Moran make nice leather couches, so It doesn't leave the leather all shiny and slippery after use.
  16. I'm there too! blackzze s.e. suburbs Any order is fine.... :D :D
  17. Thanks to the Monarchy, Sunday night proved to be a pleasurable cruze from WST Melb to Bentleigh, 3 of 'da boyz' in a VS senator 185i had to try (to be fair, it was in average condition, so prob. no longer makes 185kw, but try as they may (twice) they couldn't keep up with the lift, a good car length over them up to 90kph (I was in an 80 zone). What for the 'boyz' to do now? :o They were reduced to doing line lockers at the lights....... :D :D :D .......I went.... And diced them for a third time FYI... Current model V8 statesmans are fair game too :D I guess I have a 'thing' for holdens...
  18. Thats true, the six isn't vvt yet, I believe oz will get the same V6 from the RX330 which is 3.3L vvti six, this new six is being rolled out across the toyota range. Starting from the top (lexus) and working it's way down the range.
  19. I want THAT bonnet, would sound sweeet with the supercharger under there... ;)
  20. I'll second the 'sick' factor on those exhausts B) ..... and still sounds super nice too....
  21. Nice post richi, they look great out the front of the 'T' h.q. :) Nict to meet everyone today, it's just nice to cruze alongside some and look at them on the road, and I will add, a group of them looks menacing circulating in the traffic going to Lorimer st .... Just like playstation...... :D :D Thanks for the Info trd_141 on the wheels! And thanks to everyone!
  22. Good point shaohaok, I reckon around 3yr/100,000 for me, by then, we should have a few 200+ hp hot hatches on our shores, and that's a keen number for me B)
  23. One other reason I went for a full synthetic, was that 10,000 klm isn't a hard task for a good oil, so I just give toyota the mobil1 and let them do it (a little lazy I know). ZEEROLLA is right thou, changing the oil at 5,000 does restore power.
  24. Speaking of student, I saw you Danz, out front of monash, around novenber last year, I had the black stivo.
  25. The mirrors, front glass, doorhandles and rubstrips look like 'rolla, those rear doors could be from the runx, thou the glass looks custom, as does the whole rear guard. Anyone's guess.
