  1. Hows the 23rd of February sound to you guys? Its on a saturday and apparantly there will be a monthly meet going on as that would be the last saturday for the month. Opinions are welcome as to where we would fish and it would be good to know whereabouts everyone is from (not too detailed though), so we could possibly find a suitable location and try to get everyone on board. UPDATED
  2. Well you can go out and give it a try now as you should be working around those rpms. Different cars with different mods will be launching at different rpms, although I don't expect it to vary too much. I would say around 4-5K rpm would be alright, might spin and axel tramp a bit.
  3. Happy CNY!! Make we all have good health and prosperity!! Although my forecast for this year is quite busy
  4. Yeah just give it go mate, the last set I saw went for around $500, on ebay was $660. Just cause its damn rare.
  5. The filters were installed in euro models I think. Since in Aus we don't have problems with pollen etc. Just go to bunnings and buy some 3M air con filter. With a few pieces of wood etc, you can DIY your own filter.
  6. $250 is a bargain, I wished I could find a set that cost that much. Try searching for MR2 big brake upgrade on yahoo, google etc You'll find that you might need to tap the holes as the threads on the ST205 are on the hubs not on the calipers. Might have some offset issues etc. Make sure its the 4 piston ones, if they are twin pistons then most likely off a ST185, which would bolt on no problems with your existing discs.
  7. pffffft ..... owning property ..... its sooooo over rated ...... driving a charged stivo on the other hand :D :D :D :D :D :D :D hahaha funny.. think about it mate wats an extra few thousand on the home loan?? plus you could always live in the stivo lol Its the stupid feeling of being in debt, I've been pretty much debt free all my life. The car owes me a bit though, lol. If its only a feb sale, then I won't make it. Just spent a few thousand on household appliances, they tend to die all at the same time for some reason Oh well, I'm just looking forward to get the PFC in and tuned at the moment.
  8. I'm cool if anyone is keen on proposing a date, don't go to ebay for rods and reels. As above K-Mart FTW. I haven't been in quite a while, need a fishing fix soon lol.
  9. I don't think they would fit easily if thats what your expecting, bolt holes are 90mm apart I think and the corolla is 130mm. The only one I think that would bolt on would be the twin piston superstrut off the ST202 celica.
  10. water injection, smaller pulley etc. With the greddy kit you wouldn't want to run anymore boost as there is no option to install a cooler. 15% off is tempting if you ask me, just wondering would it be a wise decision or not at this stage <_< Suppose to be looking at buying a house early next year
  11. Isn't the 05 models DBW, thus the PFC will not work?? I would like to also ask, how much are you planning to spend?? I think start off with the basics such as a CAI, catback 2.25" exhaust and a rear sway bar while your at it... Most of this stuff has been covered before, you just need to search for it.
  12. It bolts on, just some minor niggles that need to be sorted out. Nothing major though that I gather from my research, although the people over at newcelica said that some of their brackets are breaking/fracturing from fatigue
  13. You don't have to, but it is advised to take it gently for the first few minutes, which is pretty much the same thing. Why don't you try taking straight to 8K rpm when its cold?? I'm sure it won't even make it pass 7K, cause the engine is cold.
  14. One way to get around the problem is maybe to start the car a few minutes before you actually start driving to bring it slightly up to temp. The cold air intake is a bit of a problem with the lower rpm due to the 'lag' and the size of the piping. I usually give my car a little squirt to 4K rpm before reversing out as I find that it frees up the car quite a fair bit.
  15. My car also does the same thing, I think most cars experience this problem. As its not warm enough yet, your fluids will be more viscous/thicker. Unless of course it was normal since day one that she owned it, if not then you might have a problem.
  16. If its a 1.3L, must have plenty of room in the engine bay. A turbo might be the way to go with low psi and a conservative tune. Dunno man, might be better to try and find a 1zzfe and transplant that into the car instead.
  17. Powder coating, not cheap but will definitely last long for sure. Will need to be pulled apart I think and sandblasted first before powder coating. Since you have nice and relatively new calipers you can try a DIY yourself if your a bit of a handyman. Wouldn't be too much of a hassle to get them clean compared to one thats done 100k kms. lol
  18. UPDATED!! I'm sure there are more keen fisho's on this forum
  19. My vote goes with Silva on the Traders Point scheme. 30 useful posts AND 3 months membership I don't think is good at all if it allows people to be ripped off. The new group buy rules are good, maybe we can re-evaluate one for the buy/sell section.
  20. I'm sure everyone has been a noob a some stage I've done it accidentally in a Van before, doesn't sound nice whatsover
  21. I suppose the reason I'm leaning towards auto more, is that my left knee is showing signs of strain?. I think in about ten years from now my daily car will be auto for sure. Keep the manual for the weekend :D
  22. I find that If I've been driving it gently for a while the response and power is not very good. But if i've been driving it hard then its response and power is much much better.
  23. I would prefer an auto for a daily driver. Its just so much easier to drive. I feel sleepy even driving manual lol Its just that a four speed auto is not that fun. As the automatic transmission becomes more efficient and accessible to your average australian, then I'll take an auto anyday.
  24. Is there a way to turn the SAFC off?? If you can, after that just reset your ecu and clear the CEL.
  25. We need Xoom to represent the sportivo folk!! lol All in all its a nice car, something for the man that needs to 'settle' down. lol
