  1. Welcome, I live in Cabramatta. Come to the monthly meetings once they are back on again. Any pics of your ride yet so far. One word of advice, before you ask anything. Try the search function and the thread with all the previously discussed topics.
  2. Would be interested in the price as well, been considering about something like this once I start a family I think in the tradingpost they go for around the mid 30s
  3. An emanage blue might be a better option, try grey-rolla, I think he has both camcon and emanage
  4. Might have no provision whatsoever to install a rear sway. Only way is to go underneath the car and take a look at both sides.
  5. It definitely faster if you flat shift, but I don't recommend it at all. I have done it once just to find out how much faster it would be and you would be amazed at the difference. Now I've learnt to keep the revs up slightly so that it will engage in lift once into second. Well if you ride your clutch and let it slip that way then you'll heat up the clutch and it won't grip as well. But flat shifting will strain your engine/drivetrain because of the shock that it receives.
  6. Take it back to your mech and see what he says....just tell him the problem and blame him for not doing it correctly first time :D
  7. On paper you wouldn't be able to land in lift because the gear ratios between 1st and 2nd are just abit outta touch with each other on the stock cpu. So in a way I guess you have to cough up the $100... But you can argue that you don't slip the clutch and just flat shift into 2nd 100% that you'll be in lift!!
  8. Go on the hunt for the BA series falcon. Save up a few more G's and I'm sure you'll be able to find a XR6T.
  9. I travel about 550km before my fuel light goes on. You will find that an automatic Runx is not that fast compared to the manual version due to gearbox not being able to stay in the power band in between gear changes, although it will probably be still faster then the TS. But maybe the TS would be the better choice as it produces more useable torque in between gear changes. Are the interior equipment the same?? i.e. trim, climate control etc...
  10. I bought some mdf spacers from strathfield car radios and after giving the metal panel a good wipe with some methylated spirits, used liquid nails and glued them on. You will find that later down the track it will absorb moisture/water and that it will start to come off the panel. So what I did was paint it with some high gloss paint and give it a nice layer of sound deadening around the whole rim to protect it from water/moisture. I'm not sure how people mount it existing brackets, although I've heard alot of people doing it. Would love to know...
  11. try a bit of moderate clutch dumping/sidestepping and if it doesn't brake traction then maybe it needs to be readjusted....or maybe they need some to wearing into since its new??.........But I'm pretty sure everytime I drive a car that has a new clutch, I always drive it gently so I don't chirp it every single time I take off.
  12. It would be nice if they could put in a sportier engine too......or engine mods!!
  13. First suspension mod for the new corolla if it allows room for an aftermarket rear sway bar
  14. I'm just wondering did the owner ever get the A/C lines hooked backup and whether he is using the stock radiator or not.
  15. save your cash on some springs for your celica instead
  16. I think lowering blocks were used for leaf springs, haven't bothered googling it yet. But I remember that they were using it to see how it looks like lowered on a ute
  17. I'm assuming its an Cooper S Chilli, looks a close enough match. A bet would certainly makes things interesting. If your get the 1-2 to land in lift then you might be fine.
  18. I'm sure this has been covered somewhere on the internet, just google around and then decide if you would like to us blocks or not....
  19. Seriously don't even think about it.......might as well cut springs. lol
  20. Best bet is to head over to twincam.info. Its an Oz website that caters for mainly the AE series corolla. But I would say that maybe a later model GZE would be a more easy and sensible swap, with the help of a slightly larger intercooler and a nevo pulley your car would be quite fiesty. The 20V is over rated and would be a pain to drive as it does not produce a sensible amount of torque to chug around the city, unless you like to rev it slightly higher everyday. Hell I drive a sportivo, but the 20V is really lacking the torque to move a heavier car. You could go the 3sgte route, dunno how hard that would be be though. Forget about 4wd as the money involved would be a waste, better to sell the car and get a ST185 GT-4...
  21. Most likely will not fit properly, if at all. You can try though...
  22. Both merging, only problem was that he was speeding and he hit the other car. I think he was charged with driving in a dangerous manner i.e. not merging in a safe fashion and not leaving enough room for surrounding vehicles

I'm sure if they get something designed for the track and run very stiff springs then even your shocks will take a beating and kill itself.
  24. Your first run looked the best with the lower 60ft time and all....But your fourth run wasn't bad at all. All in the launch, need more practice etc with launching. BTW its off topic but whats your next car going to be??
  25. Photos from my Sony DSC-H2 Big Zoom point and shoot camera Reasons why I want a Digital-SLR!! This is from a Canon EOS 5D DSLR Much better sensitivity at higher ISO and most importantly more control!!
