  1. thats what i would like to know too ? but what i was gonna do was put it onto a cat back exhaust so i can change it bak to stock if i wanted to the cat also in a sense applies a lil back pressure becoz of the break between header & first muffler ,sort of slowing down or holding the flow of gases,if uve installed a good header system that matches the exhaust its gives it the growling sound (at idle) to the N1 sound (at accelaration),i personally think the cat helps with the acoustics of the exhaust, ive replace mine three times & now ive got just the right system,No droans(at accelaration & decelaration),wicked sounding growl & powerwise its noticable No need for putting holes in cats :( :(
  2. It's in the downloadable service manual. Where is that available from? The AUS Toyota website? Or this forum?? google the vvti or vvtli & somewhere in there has a diagram of the timing setup
  3. sorry dude,,everybody jumped the gun there..naturally i joind in hahhahha
  4. agreed with steinny, u pay for what u get,i personally wouldnt lash out on a non reputable CAI, esp the way it looks in that pic..looks too.....uuum poo!! too many corners,a CAI should be smooth in design & doesnt even look like its got a sensor block on it too...the sound once uve installed one of these babies are great & with a matching exhaust ull be the belle of the town.. stick to the reputable brands..good luck
  5. Ive had the same problme wen i bought mine,It a matter of dry/loose lash adjusters, lack of oil does that & ive added an oil that i lil lighter in vicosity & after a cuple of seconds idling it goes away,My engines done short of a hundred kays..once an awhile it comes up to haunt me,but ive been told its normal with variable valve timing engines even with the Vtecs . But ive ure worried about it take it back to the dealerships..
  6. 'a typical CAI' gives the estimated gains of 10-15 Hp,havent really checked where i am now in horsies??,BUt u can sure feel it
  7. A typical CAI gives an average 10-15Hp gain depends on location of POd..and the dispersement of exhaust,Ive got the injen in my02 ascent & a complete exhaust from custom headers to the 2.1/4 system..man its noticable now that ive installed the Fc....well u gotta try it out
  8. bra toyota should take a look for you, anything that makes a clunk aint healthy,Itll either be the regulator slipping or the motor attached, dont know if toyota sells them separately, might have to have a lil look see before doing the job,for now keep the window closed(tape ur window switch so u dont use it) & use ur a/c for now.. good luck

I work for coventrys auto parts,a TYK6932 exedy clutch retails for $168.00 plus & a HD version costs about 300 plus, with the labour costs & even the extra work done in perth wouldnt have costed 900 or past the grand, even if it was a stivo it wouldnt be that much,I work very closely with the Toyota dealerships apperently it might get to the big G,thats not even flywheel work!! Im sorry lads..that was an expensive job bruvva

  15. working for an auotmotive spare parts company ,Ive tried everything from valvoline, castrol to motul oils<ive come to the conclusion that Penrite HPR10 is my choice,ITll be waste of money using full syn so recommended to use the semi option.as long as it complies with the specs, it comes down to how much u wanna pay? ranging from $28 to $130 (yes that much is possible) Gearbox uses the REDLINE OILS shockproof lightweight (Blue) & Radiator additive (water wetter) & fuel additive (SI-1 ) As long as it protects our love ones(cars) & doesnt get in the way with our lifestyles(like paying for a tankful of Ultimate 98 )go for it,We wouldnt be here in the forum if we didnt acre for our rigs right?? :D
  16. We(as in my racing team) are currently finishing a fully worked 20vBlacktop with quad throttle bodies, weve estimated its making 196ps,its equiped with miata forged flat top pistons & ARP reinforced internals, custom made headers (made by me ) ,This thing sings everything from amazing grace to enter the sandman, agreeing with JDM yo it sounds very sexy,I agree the silver is great but no way close to the modifying potential of the black,BUT thats just my opinion Its due for a shakedown on Jan,before the next racing season ,I hope to have pics & data to prove my theory, its in a Kit car so i hope it flys
