  1. I'm wondering if it is a State-based decision by them, cause when I was 27/28 they were going to let me have mods in QLd NRMA let me have mods, but would not cover lowering of the car by more then 30mm
  2. I think there were several to Brisbane so if 4 get sent there instead of to Sydney it may save on import tax? maybe?
  3. the only places that would cover my mods were Just Cars, GIO and Shannons and I'm almost 28...
  4. Add me too just to let you know though Tom, P6 is on the corner of Australia Ave and Dawn Fraser Drive ;) (if you want to edit the map) SRC will also be at Autosalon, be good to show the rollas some support.
  5. was sliding around too much in my rear vision mirror from where I was sitting :P
  6. Welcome to the world of disc brakes... they all rust like that, it's perfectly normal. Go and visit a car yard and see the cars that have been sitting outside for a few weeks, then you realise yours aren't so bad... :)
  7. it's that what the 1/4 mile is... put it in gear and accelerate :P
  8. I have Dan's number still I think... if I have known I would have called him.
  9. I never said they wreck your car... I said they were a bit af a w@nk for the price... (~$380) but at this price I'm interested...
  10. WOW... this is turning into a huge buy... time to start a list of who's interested. SyxXPaC blue_rolla (maybe) Blue_Stivo (if @ </=$280) iNdCeNt (if @ </=$280) 76ACC NEWJAK LiMz RoLLa is that right... for now?
  11. the Ice cream was BRILLIANT!!! I almost finished it, but was SOOOO full. The spanish students made great entertainment too :D nice cruise, would have liked to have puched a bit more through McCarrs Creek but we were losing you guys at the back too quickly. Was still fun though...
  12. we need pics Gary :) that's a great price for installation though :D
  13. 1G-GTE would be a pain in the **** to fit into it's tiny little engine bay... 4A-GE or GTE would be awesome though :)
  14. so was my 14.883... given the weight difference of the corolla to the celica it makes perfect sense... Bill - also note that WSID has a 1% downward slope too... but this is within ANDRA (and International) limits (the limit is 1% exactly, it used to be 3%)
  15. didn't know twin cam engines had rockers? :P
  16. have a talk to meridian motorsport as they specialise in this sort of job find out what you need then ring around wreckers you can pick up a complete 2ZZ-GE engine/g-box/loom/ecu/ingition for ~$4-8000 4A-GE you can get for ~$1-2000
  17. I'm a possible for this too Bill... is it possible to drop below $300 if we get 5?
  18. Exactly right Gary The best exhaust is the one YOU choose. Sure there are more free flowing exhausts out there other then the CES, I'd admit that, but the CES has a comfortable sound to it as well as some gain in performance. It's this balance that some people are going for. This arguement could go on forever about who's is bigger then who's but at the end of the day, who gives a fat rat's clacker as Sam Newman would say. You chose the exhaust because YOU like it... that's it, if YOU are happy with what you buy, so be it... One great thing we have in life is choice... we should accept when other's choose different, commend them for trying something different... then GET OVER IT and MOVE ON!!! Yvets... to answer your question, Yes TRD make an exhaust for the sportivo, but the exhaust outlet is on the other side, and it adds 2, 90 degree bends and about an extra metre of pipe to get it there. I can't see how that would help...
  19. click on the 'my controls' in the top menus... then use the Personal Profile links on the page it takes you to ;)
  20. Slotted discs allow air to flow around the face that assists cooling. As far as pads go, ideally you want pads that are matched to the discs as far as temp goes. no point having 500 degree pads if the discs can only take 350 degrees, and vice versa if the pads are too hard they will chew up the disc pretty fast if the disc is too hard it won't dissipate as much energy.
