  1. But Kyle we all know it's the Lexus badges that gave you the real gain :P
  2. According to Dan the car that was impounded was no longer owned by a SRC member but was sold. Even so he was very embarassed to say the least to get the bad exposure from it. on another note... following an incident on the last night cruise, perhaps some more restraint should be shown when we are driving in a bunch in future. We all like to be noticed and make a bit of noise, but think of the people around you too. Just try and drive smart guys and be safe :)
  3. I'll meet you guys on the Highway at the top of Bulli Pass (just as you approach Wollongong and the speed slows down to 80 from 110). If you are on the CBs early I'll just slip into the group quietly :) Make sure you guys don't do anything silly on the highway either as it is well policed on Weekends...
  4. I post in the threads I find interesting... not all the whore topics... :P I'm normally around somewhere $50 for non-toymods members. It's 1st come 1st served and a good day out if you are interested. It's not far from you at Silverwater Automotive Services on Silverwater Road at..... wait for it...... Silverwater :P more info here http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6317 I'll be getting there some time between 8:30 and 9am which means leaving home at ~7:30 on a Sunday... UNTHINKABLE
  5. looks great Tom :) would be good to know what it does on the dyno too... you busy on the 2nd July ;) :) how much of the Stivo did you end up using? All the way from the headers? What headers are they? EDIT: it's alright I've read the 1st post again now :P
  6. you'll also find a lot of Denso products too. It's cheaper to out source production of some items like A/C, air filters, spark plugs, ECUs etc then it is to do everything in house, that is the reason for this.
  7. If you are going to be racing mate... be sure to do it off the streets :) Toyo Proxes I've heard nothing but good things about.
  8. Cheers Dylan :D I'm actually considering a full ground up rebuild (most likey levin AE86 [trueno/sprinter is collectors item, wouldn't want to do project on it]). I want to revisit the days when my father and I were freezing cold stripping the escort (our little track car) and putting it back to bare metal lol. So basically, I'm considering a full strip out of everything and strengthening (via spot welding and foam spray) on the weak points of the chassis. Then adding the front/rear bars and side skirts (plus the flares) and having it resprayed (I still like metallic baby blue for some reason, + it'd be unique for that car). 15 or 16 in wheels (x7) 4 wheel disc conversion, coilovers, LSD, 5 speed celica box (hd clutch and flywheel etc), and a 'just nicely' worked silvertop 20V (maybe a mild turbo, but I'd want to drive this everyday lol). Black interior w. vinyl trimmings and reclinable buckets, refurbished dash/console and maybe a custom gauge cluster with red backlights (still love the sportivo instruments lol). So yeah...that's my initial (no pun intended lol) plan. Sorry the thread has turned into an AE86 thread but *** love them lol. you mean like this one http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7535 :P and here's the Trueno http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1426
  9. Not many of the Victorian guys are official Toymods members. A few are and they are pretty good guys. There are a lot of losers on the forum though, but it's been weeded out with the new registraion process and Reputation system. The NSW group is the Official Club as they are registered in NSW. All the guys are awesome and the monthly cruises a lot of fun. Major events for the year include 2 Dyno Days, many WSID evenings and social events including mini golf, snooker/pool, Zone 3, go-carts etc. They are the largest registered Toyota dedicated Car Club in the state. In NSW there are a few who do not appreciate the newer models but, it only takes one cruise for them to be taught otherwise ;) Most of the guys up here now love the Sportivos thanks to Dave and Myself and have a growing respect for the 2ZZ engine, but, like us, they hate the price tag :(
  10. I know where there is a pretty nice '86 (Truero Shape) with a 1G-GTE transplant for sale. Looks VERY awesome and is well cared for if you are interested.
  11. the lid can be a ***** to put back on at times, just keep trying.
  12. Pete, how many times do you have to tell you there is no 'GM' in 'TOYOTA'
  13. thank Danz and Hendra... they were the guys who recommended them to me :)
  14. spray it with some WD40 and see if that helps?
  15. You are right Dan, JDM YARD now have an agreement with Westside Mufflers to share the workshop space :)
  16. it's just like a mild cutting compound in a 1-2-3 process 1 - wash and dry the car 2 - apply scratch X then buff off 3 - apply Gold Class liquid wax and buff off if you follow the direction on the bottles that's what they tell you to do and the 2 complement each other. the final line on the scratch X blurb says: For quick touch ups on one section, or revive your car's look with a application to the entire vehicle. I've seen it at AutoOne in Waitara, next to the Bridgestone on Pacific Hwy near Hornsby. But price unknown.....try Ebay I've seen it at both Repco and Supercheap in the Maguires range in the last week...
  17. Generally there is a tap next to the water meter that you turn on to turn on the mains water. You shouldn't need to touch the ferrule as it's an internal component. Kind of like the butterfly in the throttle body kind of thing... you press the accellerator to open the butterfly, not open the butterfly directly. I think he was just using big words to sound smart and confuse you. Turn on the Mains tap... that should be it... if not... have a look at your neighbours mains tap and see if it's se up the same as yours... it could give you clues...
  18. If we plan to get there ~11-11:30 we shouldn't have any troubles the car park is pretty big but if need be there is a grassed area at the bottom of the hill that gets used from time to time by car clubs.
  19. are you sure you don't mean ferrule? I now see you have editted it... they are a piece of plastic or graphite that goes around a hose/pipe/tube where it connects to a join to prevent leaks. a ferrule is not a thing you can turn off, a tap is... but you need to turn off that water at the mains to be able to open the join where the ferrule is. **DISCLAIMER - I am not a plumber but have had to play with scientific equipment that made use of ferrules to prevent gas leaks**
  20. I would suggest for you guys to take Clyde Mountain (ie via Batemans) on the way there and then after a hearty lunch of Fish and Chips drive up Jamberoo Mountain with us and then back to the Hume for the boring stretch to finish. :P Canberra to Kiama via Batemans Bay and Nowra should talk ~3.5-4 hours. Kiama to Canberra via Moss Vale should be ~2.5-3 hours
  21. definately Kiama :) I was going to suggest Palm Beach for the next one for something a bit different :)
  22. yeah the trolley ended up in one of the underground car parks (well against the door at the bottom of the hill anyway) of one of the apartment blocks, no cars were touched luckilly...
  23. Been to lighthouse with a mate that lives in Canberra. It's a great little place where the Red Bull and Volka goes down a treat ;) Got well maggotted, then found a shopping trolly on the way home and had some fun on every hill we could find in Belconnen :P The Red Bull certainly gave us wings that night... or was it the Vodka :P
