I'd say improve your shifting, it's like this in most stivos I know of. All you need to do is feed the clutch on a little slower and it'll be all good. Takes a bit of practice finding the friction point on a regular basis and holding it there a second longer but it makes a huge difference to the driving characteristics of the car.

that's wat i do. i hate having them half way up or down coz it splits my view of the wing mirror into a darker and lighter half with the window tints. ← agreed... with the tint I just find it annoying having the window half way so generally closed of all the way open, but just a little open at the top (~3-4cm) sometimes just to feel the breeze

well summer's over now.... Just do it!!!! If you are not happy and need the A/C again, it is reversable!!! I think

By cables do you mean the gear selector cables? Because they connect the gear lever to the gearbox (about 1m forward and around to the left) nothing to do with the clutch, the clutch is hydrolic, that's why the bl**dy service guys at Wollongong don't want to play with mine, I told them is was a small adjustment that was needed to the clutch master cylinder and they just said, 'if there was a fix we would have been told by TOYOTA..' Anyway I'll get it fixed one day, it's only really a problem from 1-2 in lift for me. 40,000K service coming up and I think I'll organise it to go to Sydney City Toyota for that one where they know what they are doing...

RRP is $28,990 don't let them tell you anything else.... Then go down from there... :P

It is 'semi' independent because there is no axel linking the 2 hubs (as in solid suspension) but there also is no wishbone suspension as seen in fully independent suspension. The torsion beam simply links the 2 suspension mounts to stabalize the rear end. At least that is my understanding...

There was no official recall for the gear selector cables!!! Only the ECU and airbox... The gear selector cables were only changed for those that asked for it and came in a seperate fix package. The pre-facelift models sold after the ECU recall would not have had the selector cables fixed as it may not have been needed. Toyota would not have spent money on something they didn't have to.
