  1. Even google knows there are cheaper alternatives out there that provide the same "Noise" and gains sorry mate, but in injen is too small for the 2zz and the CES CAI made 4-5kw more peak power then the TRD so looks like google is not as good as it seems... I had an injen i got 5kW atw's from it. i also have the dyno sheet. the trd piping is the same diametre as the one of injen, and my injen intake outperformed the trd on dyno day, not to mention drag day as well. I thought people werent allowed to advertise on the forums on behalf of other people, does that mean im allowed to advertise my store for FREE? Hi, im northy i have CES stuff in my car, i know it all, i have an apexi power FC (ooooo soo much power) yet can only run a 15.2 second quarter and not only that but to fry his engine as well. Not to mention also took credit to me beating the type S but no need to go there... i did 14.89 with just an intake alone, can you? put all the CES sh|3t in u like. good luck I agree with the advertising part of your post, but with the pulling the times out. I think u just look at Bills 14.7 with bad traction on launch and dylans easy 14.8 both with cai and CES exhaust i think your proven wrong. The CES product does what they say it does. Thats not to say that any other product isnt good as well. Also i think if nothy came down to sydney to run at WSID where the traction is much better then up there in QLD i think ull find him in the 14.6 or 14.7 easy. ALso BanGn, id liek to see ur stivo with you CAI roll up beside the CES guys doing 60 and punch it , theyll leave u back like your driving a 1ZZ :P SyxXPaC....... wisdom beyond your years ;) If only others would get their heads out of the sand............. Before any of the tyre kickers start to flame me about "promoting CES"...... Take a look at who started this thread another satisified CES customer :D
  2. The worry some of you express every time it rains makes me laugh Oohh no my CAI is gonna suck the road dry and give me some water injection. Seriously guys I think that Qld has prolly the worst record for summer storms of any of the states for the entire season and i have been caught driving in at least half of them to the point of a good couple of inches of water running across the road and believe it or not have NEVER had my CAI suck any water up at all. :o I've even crossed a semi flooded road with 6 inches of water over it with no problems. But it all comes down to the way you drive. Stupid driving will obviously yield bad results. So if you plan on roaring through deep(6+inches) puddles then prepare for some sort of damage but normal wet driving is not a problem even if your car is lowered. PS. Motoman this isn't a personal attack on you or your car or your driving ability or your Mum's driving ability but merely highlighting the fact that if you drive with normal due caution in the wet then there will be no problems. :D :D
  3. Not the way Azza does them. Have a look at my car and Northy's. ;)
  4. Oil level indicator. It's the orange oil level light that comes on when you start a Stivo then goes out after a few seconds.(If your lucky :P ) I believe Northy had some problems with this light a couple of months ago...... :P
  5. Maybe some "fast and the furious" vinyl graphics to cover the evidence ;) Bad luck mate hope it doesn't cost too much :)
  6. At the strip it'll get you off the line but once you've peaked 1st it'll be one MX5 playing catch up for the rest of the way.
  7. I worked for Honda dealership a few years ago now and one weekend some lovely locals decided they wanted some seats out of a few DC2's that were locked up at the back of the workshop totally out of sight. They must have gone for a walk through the dealership during the week to see them as there was 8ft high brick fence with barbed wire on top :o Anyway they stole 3 sets of seats and nobody noticed till about midday on the Monday that they were missing :o Insurance covered them but to buy from Honda they were a few dollars over $3k a pair which is absolutely ridiculous. From then on every DC2 etc were locked inside the workshop every night. If the seat is too narrow then get 2 pieces of timber(75x35 pine frame) and the standard scissor jack. Put the piece of timber on each bolster(inside and place the jack in between the 2. Wind the jack up till it starts to push the bolsters apart. It pushes the bolsters wider then when you release the jack they will come back a little. Sit in it and see if it's still too tight if so then do it again. Have done this quite a few times on race cars and works a treat to make the seat a perfect fit for the 'ol rear end :D It doesn't break the seat but just bends the bolsters out a little to make them wider fit more people than little Asians :P
  8. Well put Azza. Was just thinking the same thing
  9. Is that for each set ordered Cause that makes the price $250 +$266 =$516 Might need to clarify this for the worry warts :D
  10. Just a suggestion but how about a collage of some of the best cars seen on this site as the background with the web address boldy printed in a bright easy to read text? Maybe something in the bottom corner like "new members welcome". My 2c worth:)
  11. He's either seen his reaction time or spotted the kebab vendor in the carpark :P Hence the quick time as there was only a few kebabs left.
  12. From what i have seen and been told by Northy it is a basic copy of the TRD layout but wit a 3" pipe instead of 70mm and it has an extra bend where the pod goes on to clear the foglight... The apparent downside is the hesitation or lack of "go" when the car is cold... most likley due to the fact that the pipe is 3" and the airflow past the MAF at idle ect is not enough to make it flow true through th MAF... The US guys with the turbo spyders/celicas had the same issues... some ended up making vanes in the pipe to straighten the airflow into the MAF... others reduced the size of the pipe back to 2.75 My TRD CAI does exactly the same thing when it's cold :o My Injen never did that either.. But if you want the most power then you'd go with TRD or CES :P But if you're scared then you'd go with Injen or AEM :P :P :P
  13. Great Design there 2bnvd!!! Top marks. Business card size is prolly the best size for something like this:)

  15. HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY SPORTIV!!!!!! Hope you have a great day and don't drink too much cordial :P
  16. Contact rollamods as he'll have all the answers you're looking for. :D
  17. I think you will find that there are some minor differences between 1zz and 2zz. But as far as gains then I wouldn't bother :D
  18. Got to ask why is it that you should have you air con on off when driving at high RPM. The only reason is that my air con is permenently on - the exception being that when I do decide to hit lift I switch it off. Air con compressors aren't really designed to be spun at high rpm. The bearings start to get noisy till they collapse alltogether. Any car that has had a flogging with the air on will have a real noisy compressor when the air is switched on. Anything over 4500rpm and I switch it off to stop the unnecessary wear on the air con compressor. Another reason is they aren't cheap to replace. ;) I've heard some Sportivo's up here in Brisssy that already have compressors making a lot more noise than others.
  19. Have you got the Air Con turned on??? If so turn it off or you'll destroy your A/C compressor rather quickly doing that sort of RPM.
  20. If a gear lever was going to break in a Sportivo then my guess would be that Danthuyer would be the first to do so:)
  21. Called today and have organised for them to be sent directly to Specialized's address. I told them to send 18 spacers for the front strut braces. Should arrive in the next day or so. :D
  22. There are still quite a few -ex demo and new ones floating around. http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...eyword=SPORTIVO too bad if you want something other than silver .... they sold off all the other colours cheaply but you pay "premium" prices for DA SILVER :P :P :P
  23. CAI, headers and exhaust system for the low down to mid range to top end improvements. Suspension wise a front strut brace and has been mentioned a set of decent coilovers with decent rubber should do it. CES Racing for the performance improvements http://www.cesracing.com.au/ Whiteline does a nice simple but effective strut brace and Tein, Cusco,D2 or whatever brand you choose will make an improvement. Northy or Danz are the coilover kings around here!!!! Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay. :D
  24. http://www.cesracing.com.au/ Currently only lists the exhaust system but CAI and another "goodie" will be listed soon. :D Hopefully Northy will have some pics to post up by the end of the weekend. :D
