mate we didnt get our "@r$es handed to us" last time.... power doesnt win drag races torque does. SBs sportivo was, at the time, making masses of power at the wheels more then twiggy, and was about a second off the pace if memory serves. our "worked" cars develop more torque at lower RPM then the stivos. ok granted twiggy was the only guy out there pulling in quick times...but he'll run 14.7s all day long. I'll be running around 15.4 if i get the racing header, sports exhaust, cold air, plugs and leads and T1Rs on the car. The BJ 323's are not as unrespectable as you might think. Ok we're not driving state of the art engines with lift and all the bells and whistles. But we are driving torque monsters due to short rod ratios, and we'll hold our own. If i had to bet money, i'd say we'll get beaten...yes. The CES headers some of the stivos are running now will definantly make them much quicker, and Northy's machine is something I can't wait to see (was the big disappointment of the last drag day for me.....really itching to see it run this time!)....so yes, we'll probably not be the fastest out this time. But I think you would be surprised at just how well we can keep up. 14.8 to 15.4 =.6 if my maths serves me correctly :P But then we'll also be closer to level playing field with the Corolla's running a gutted shell and some with "drag radials" which reportedly don't make a difference :P :P :P Decent clutch hopefully this time for me so no slippage or shifting issues <_<

Sounds like your mates car hasn't had the ECU recall done and now it has :D Doesn't have less power but actually more earlier in the rev range. :)

Rollagirl did plenty of damage on a miss shift. Search for it as it's on here somewhere. Rev limiters stop revs on upshifts but on downshifts you can actually get the engine rev higher than the 8200rpm limiter. Makes a mess if it goes bang I can tell you. I've dropped valves before at peak revs(not in a Sportivo) and it stuffs the head,piston, rocker gear and fills the rest of the engine with metal shavings. Brissys boys who have been with me to my parents house have seen the "trophy cabinet". As for Sportivo's going bang.... well Northy's had a custom made inspection point in the front and the back of the block so you could check out the wear on the crank, rods(what remained of it :o ) and the rest of the bottom end. :D

And people whinge about me charging what I charge.... :o Makes my prices look very cheap indeed ;)

Hey All I am wanting an expression of interest for a cruise that JC and I have mapped out in the Gold Coast hinterland over some nice twisties and some long flowing corners that open out into longer straights?? I will work out distances and how long it is in the next couple of days. I was looking at the 4th June. Mothers is a totally spearate company from Meguiars. Like Holden and Ford in car care. As for vacuuming get yourself a scrubbing brush and run it over the carpet and it will dislodge leaves,grass etc then vaccuum them up. Do this a couple of times and it will also lift the pile of the carpet up in heavily worn areas as well!! DAMM ..... just let out another trade secret :o :o :o Doesn't matter you guys still can't beat the master of CAR DETAILING :P :P :P :P

Nothing off the shelf to my knowledge but Bates's motorsport would prolly be your best bet. May even have a second hand one you could buy!!!

Could be the pads and discs are glazed from heavy braking. Hell I know mine are after I don't know how many mountain runs. Mine grind when braking normally but have plenty of pad left. Could be a stone or even a build up of brake dust. When you wash your car always give the brakes a good hit with the hose to remove excess brake dust.

The tail light plug changes pre to facelift models. they aren't a plug and play type arrangement. the wiring can be changed by swapping the plugs but it is a little time consuming. northy and I did it on his car.

I'd suggest that you guys who want to come up book into a hotel in Brisbane as it's close to everything and we do have our weekly meet up about 4-5min drive from the centre of town. Plus if you all stay in the same hotel then I would say that you would get a group discount. Us Brissy people will find something suitable, comfortable and relatively inexpensive to stay. Also on the sunday after the drags we will also prolly do a cruise as well.(Probably MT Nebo/Glorious for times sake) Will get a firm date for the drag meet this week :D

I have been removing posts periodically and keeping an eye on members posting stuff for sale. All moderators know who they are and we are currently working on a favourable solution to the problem. It also has to be approved by the administrators as well which seems to take a while too. If you do see this happen then by all means please report it to a moderator and we then can deal with it as we sometimes do miss things. :D
