  1. If it has gone grey then it has blushed due to the surface and air temp being too cold by the sounds of it. I can paint eyelids (sand, primer, colour and clear ) all in one day. It's all about technique and the methods you use. If you are unsure then dont do it and get someone who knows what to do otherwise you will make a big mess of it.
  2. TYRE PRESSURE IS TOO HIGH. Then add a heavier rear sway and some stiffer springs if that isn't enough with some koni's or coilovers. If it still jumps around then load the boot with bricks and run 40 psi....
  3. I will be out this week. So who is up for a cruise to some twisties??? I know Northy will be.....
  4. Sinan maybe your deal for a straight swap is a bit far fetched. your 05 Sportivo + your first born + some cash = Xoom's turbo sportivo. sound about right bill???? as for the CES Sportivo it is going very nicely and as for what they did to fix the fuel/spark issue I and CEs don't know what the tuners did to resolve it but with those kind of figures it would certainly be a handfull to drive with an open diff. I think Kurt has just bought into a Bob Jane franchise as well for obvious reasons
  5. If they have had to put 2 flex joints in to stop the system from breaking then is it designed correctly?? Even the stock system doesn't have any flex joints just the spring loaded flange at the bottom of the collector. If they have had to put 2 in then there must be some sort of design flaw or stress somewhere to cause this. If it does this then is it trying to pull the rest of the system off the mounts as well?? As with the CES system the stock mounts are pretty soft and you need to either change them to the ones like rollamods posted a pic of in another thread or beef the stock ones up like i have done for a few of the Qld boys. The system is obviously mild steel for the price you have told us about?? Still not sure why so many exhaust shops change the cat on a 2zz when it is pretty damm big and flows really well from factory. The gains are very negligable and for the extra cost it's not worth it. Some food for thought for those looking into this system.:)
  6. Did ask CES about it the other day but they themselves haven't seen the car or heard any other info on it either...... Seems like it has gone MIA???
  7. Check Northy's garage for the TRD one. I just had the TRD cap but he has the door and the cap
  8. Dear SB: While working with Toyota Singapore, I dealt with a company in Thailand specializing in Hilux accessories...The company name is Sammitr and their URL is http://www.sammitr.com/html/prod_index.htm When you email them, ATTN Mr. Alok Gupta. He's the sales manager there and a nice person to deal with. He should be able to give you a good price for Hilux accessories. Good luck and hopefully you managed to find what u were looking for. Thanks mate will do!!
  9. They do have a jig to make them but don't keep them in stock. If you want one then they'll mkae you one all you have to do is call....
  10. well put young Jimmy the diff between the CES and a stock sportivo system would be fairly hard to measure unless you are prepared to do a back to back test of the 2 on the same car. Both have gains to be made but to my knowledge I haven't seen any dyno evidence of which is better.
  11. They do make a system for the 1zz but haven't advertised it or keep them in stock as the enquiries for them are few and far between these days. They actually haven't done much Corolla stuff in the last 9 months or so due to the "tainting" of their name and products by some members and formers members of this forum. By all means they are happy to whip something up for you as they have all the jigs etc etc and their quality is second to none and the their products actually do what they are supposed to do....... make more power!!!!!
  12. IF CES have recommended someone to do the install it will be for a good reason ashtye are obvious going to do it properly. Going to any old shop has seen many a member with more of a headache than the cheap price to remember.
  13. Still would have to say that my brother's VW with a set of 48 IDA webers basically sitting just behind the back seat was just as loud if not louder!!!!!
  14. Mine is painted silver glaze and i'll take $10 plus postage to you.
  15. So is your exhaust stock with a muffler or has it been totally replaced?? Seems silly to replace the stock 2.25" system with a 2.25" system Danthuyer with a TRD CAI, TRD Headers and a CES catback with his unichip got something like 126kw atw from memory. Maybe the exhaust is the difference??? the mind boggles.......
  16. the collector side is ported slightly as they all aren't exactly the same. by the time you remove all the dags and burrs from each some are slightly bigger so they all get tidied up to be the same size.
  17. I know of a few guys who have done Dutton Rally this year. One was in a 1957 beetle that was very nicely modified and the others were in a bombed to the hilt GTI Polo. The guys in the beetle did really well overall and placed quite highly when you looked at the entrant list and the quality of the cars. Polo was a weapon and surprised some of it's more fancied rivals. It does cost a bit but that does include all your meals and accomodation which i thought wasn't too bad. both groups of guys said it was absolutely awesome and they would do it again in a heartbeat.
  18. And that was without a unichip too....
  19. Should be in Sydney by the end of the week. Contact M M as she will be the one who will be selling them.
  20. Apart from what Bill has done to his car, CES have also done a turbo set up for one of the boys up here in Brisbane. Meridan give me the impression that they don't want to know anyone with a "COROLLA" but rather a "COROLLA POWERED LOTUS" as people who own them have money after all. Anyway as Xoom has suggested there are a lot of bits and pieces available here in Australia some of them are locally made and others are imported from overseas. If you are realy serious about bombing your car to the hilt then Monkey wrench will be able to supply you with most internal bits and pieces. CES can also source engine internals for you as well as ECU set ups etc etc. The turbo car they did runs and Autronic ECU which is top shelf but if you want to go fast and get every HP you can then you have to spend the $$$. You need to sit down and decide whether you want to drive it everyday or have another car for your daily commute as you build your Sportivo up to be a track warrior. Cause there is a point where it just becomes uncomfortable to drive on the street. ;)
  21. 2ZZ engine and box would get it moving!!
  22. d_ice talking non stop???? I don't believe you :P Looks a bit like Bomex but without the diffusers underneath and a bit like the C-one. Could be a bitzer??
