$400 for springs is a bit steep unless your trying to get eibach's. $400 for them is cheap!! Kings and whitelines you can get for under $300 easy if you know the right people

Agreed there Dylan. They are the lowest that are readily available. not necessarily. depends on the offest of your wheels. Stocko's shouldn't touch on the lip of the guard. So what happen if u upgrade to superlow without upgrade the shock? what are the upgraded shocks?? If they are adjustable then what are they adjusted to??? Put superlows in and Sportivo shocks will die in no time. They will begin to leak oil, then start to creak as well as the constant hitting of the bump stops will cause them to split. Not sure if 1zz shocks die as quick but the Stivo ones drop their bundle in about 15k of putting springs in. To replace the stock Sportivo or 1zz shocks with koni's that are adjustable will set you back about $1000 -1100. they have just had a price rise so not sure of exact amount. Why pay for something that doesn't work?? All the salesman cares about is aftermarket sales cause he gets a comission on every sale. He negiotated with you and you got it cheaper which is good for you but he doesn't really care cause he still gets that bit extra in his pocket whether the product works or not ;)

Few more details would help. What type of engine?? what type of car??

It is simply just another money spinner. I know for a fact that the paint protection used by the dealership I used to work for cost $28 for the bottle and took about 30 mins to apply. They then charge you $400+ to get it on your car. Then you have to buy the "special" car wash from them so it doesn't wash the paint protection off..... Gimmick??? Absolutely. If using any car wash can affect the paint protection then it's obviously not very good at all and sin't going to protect your paint much isn't it???

Me thinks Superdave needs to change insurance companies to get some suspension work done and give his tyres a break :P

And the 2zz rods are still half the size of the big daddy's I"ve got in my 2lt kombi motor. In fact the Type 4 VW motor has rods bigger than 350 Chev. Chevvy boys don't like it when I tell them that....

It's a right royal pain in the A55 and something i was gonna do but to pull the entire intake off the engine and drop belts etc to get to bolts on ridiculous angles to put a gasket in wasn't worth the effort. But if you want to pay your mechanic to do it he'll love you

Now there's some pearls of Wisdom!! We have the cheapest fuel,cheapest housing although that is slowly increasing and best of all if you want to live in a great city that has everything you need with a laid back style of life then i honestly have to say have a look at Brisbane. Plus we have great weather too.....(just wish it would flammin rain!!)

Trying to compare the B16VTEC with a 1ZZFE VVTI is just plain silly. The Honda engine is performance based whereas the Toyota engine is plain and simply a production engine for a specific model(Corolla). The B16VTEC makes 118kw whereas the 1ZZFE makes 100kw. Honda is up 18kw and has higher rev limit. Put it in a lighter car then remove weight and the winner is??? A lighter car with more power is always going to be quicker than something that has marginally less power and a bit more weight. If some of these Honda guys were serious about going fast then they would be following the idea of the Alcorn brothers who run civics in the Sport Compact series in the All motor category(naturally aspirated). They use a mid 80's model Civic with a k20 in it and it weighs around 900kg with driver!! It ran at last round and was no.2 qualifier with a 11.67 @187km'hr. Engine is stock with just plain bolt ons(exhaust/intake etc). The potential of this car is huge. Can't wait to see it run once the engine has been opened...

He used a wooden mallet, and slid it under the car.. meh i dunno I got 14 days to fix it... Super Low's Front and back, I believe their the super lows for the standard corolla (50mm drop) and isnt the the corolla sportivo 25mm higher then the standard? therefore its roughly 75mm from stock? The top of my tyre is just flush with the guards? 17" If you have super lows front and back then my guess is that the front is lower than the back. And that may be where it is illegal(by their means of a test) My car has lows on it and sits higher in the back than the front(@15mm) I had it measured by my suspension wholesalers to make sure so I'm guessing that with the super lows the front would prolly be lower than the back. I'd borrow some rims from someone with taller tyre profile. 4 x 100 pcd is very common and should give you that bit more height. Other than that put the stock springs back in it. It only takes about 2 odd hours to do it if your not rushing.

Mate glad your happy with it after the reset. If you give the mounts a tweak like the pics of Azza's it'll be all sweet. The stock rubber mounts are a bit soft and I think something slightly heavier would be the solution to the system moving on the mounts so much. I've got the oldest CES system and have had my mounts done like this for quite a while. It was ok for a while but then started hitting on cornering etc so investigated into movement on the mounts and the outcome was what we have done to the mounts on Azza's and others cars. BTW Zip ties on my mounts have been there for nearly 2 years now and still going strong
