  1. There's a couple reasons for it, (we have discussed about it before on a previous thread too if you want to have a look at what was said) - CAI generally freaks the ECU out for the first couple of minutes, generally as Northy would suggest too is to reset your ECU anyway. - Temperature wise, never had my temp bar go beyond halfway even on a VERY hot day at the track, besides, the temp gauge on our car suck anyway, not very accurate (shao will back me up on this one) - ECU / Aircond, as i have personally discovered is that when the weather is pretty hot, and you had the A/C on and then when you sit the car at the lights or restart it from a slight stop, the idle would once in a while bounce up and down. I have discovered that the ECU or something seems to upset the idle ESPECIALLY when the A/C is turned OFF. Blip the throttle, once if not a couple of times... it always works for me. also, after hard driving, please don't just stop your car. Be nice to it, do a couple laps around the block slowly and blip the throttle before killing it, that'll help you start easier the next morning! cheers.
  2. Hey, Both shao and myself use the REDLINE OILS Superlight gear oil... very smooth...
  3. hahaha! shao! surprised to see them put the cable ties in there!! personally, i've got KONI.... as most other ppls that get aftermarket ones. they are GREAT... but then for the definition of the best one, it'll depend on personal taste. speak to "Shadow" if you want to know about TRD Sportivo ones, he just had a set installed. CUSCO rocks.... $$ involved... speak to MAP-81 he'll tell you how his ones are~ ;) personally.... see what you want to do with your car, then decide. ;) as for lowering on stock shocks.... not at all suprised that they're stuffed so soon... :D they were never made to be lowered... ;)
  4. mmmm.... interesting... doesn't look like the seat would hold me in on the track anymore than the stockies! .... :D
  5. i must say, i took my standard exhaust off and put on a stock sportivo cat back. even though due to the fact that there was some restriction in the welding at the muffler from previous work, on the dyno before and after still gave me a 3kw gain. can't hear a thing when cruising or idling... but when you floor it... that's another story...
  6. hey, i'm pretty sure that the exhaust are 2 1/4 or 2 1/2, definitely not 2" the normal 1zz are 2". maybe someone can back me up... eveh tho i've got the stivo exhaust... sigh....
  7. hi, the cost and info for the blitz kit is here... http://www.brashboy.net/ otherwise you can have a look at other resources by doing a few search engine searches... e.g. google... or even looking directly at brands like Jackson Sports etc. as for the clutch and flywheel, there is not reason why not, the fly wheel is not a concern, but the clutch might be, as how long it will last or whether its able to cope with the power without burning out / slipping is questionable... cheers.
  8. mmm.... damn! i'm getting there.... slowly but surely....
  9. personally i don't like the cast... i was just surprised that the japanese let them make the movie rather than the japanese having a go themselves... i mean i don't mind jay chou, but definitely not supporting him playing takumi tho... anyway! personal opinions....
  10. mine does the same thing... but it has never really bothered me coz a blip will get rid of it... usually.... i have spoken to shao about this prob before too... and a common thing we both noticed was that when the a/c is turned on then off or when the car is in a really hot day... the ecu kinda gets confused.... well... that's what we think anyway. cheers.
  11. have a look in my garage... i think my decals are ok....
  12. Mine is manual, 1zz-fe, i agree with IZZ-FE that if you rev up to about 3000~3500 it is comfy for everyday driving. i rev up to about 4000 everyday driving, and you can really push it if you bring it up to red. my ratios would be the same as yous, hence, here are the speeds i travel before the rev limiter kicks in... (approx 6000rpm) 1st - just under 60km/hr 2nd - 90km/hr 3rd - 130km/hr 4th - about 170 (if i remember correctly) its been a while... 5th... never tried... :P so hope this helps!
  13. MRS also has a different gearbox (5sp or 6sp) the 5sp i'm pretty sure has shorter ratios on 2nd or 3rd (or all)
  14. hey dude, i think you need some of these... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...ssPageName=WDVW as these aren't the condoms you're talking about. cheers.
  15. haha!! nice one shao! :D i'd say 17" for everyday, 16x7 with some proper rubber would be way better! (i.e. track)
  16. hey, have a look in my garage and northy's too. corey run mid-high 15s. i run low 16s. similar mods. check it out in the garage.
