  1. I remember watching that video ages ago and I although I had already been using the product, I was shocked to see it being used on the whole tyre. This then prompted me to spray the tyres on an Original 1975 Dragster Bicycle I have stored as it still has the very tyres it came with from factory, with plenty tread left and some dry rot but not bad enough to render them useless. I sprayed the tyres liberally with 303 and they are now looking to be in much better shape and I dare say has halted the rotting process. I also did, some time ago, spray over the engine bay components on my Aurion too including the serpentine belt. One application was enough and it lasts for many months. The idea is to spray/soak everything, leave overnight to allow penetration, then come back with a clean microfibre cloth and just buff off. The initial shine will disappear into a matt like appearance, this tells you that it's been absorbed and everything looks like new. I have been maintaining my engine bay like this since day one and this is why it's still close to factory fresh. The slickness of the product doesn't allow contamination to stick either. When I foam cannon the engine bay, this is all it needs to loosen off the dust and then a good pressure wash and blow dry to avoid water spotting. We have hard water here and you need to dry it pretty quickly otherwise etching will occur. 303. It's a miracle product and I'll always have a bottle handy. Let it be our secret lol...
  2. Yes very true of the graphite oil not to be used in modern engines. The tests he conducts are very time consuming so I take my hat off to the guy. Chris Fix is also another favourite of mine. He's come a long way ! Another one is Scotty Kilmer ( we affectionately refer to him as "The Lunatic", but he is pretty smart and wouldn't spread B.S that's for sure. Youtube is great. It's helped me many times
  3. Here's a youtube channel I thought everybody would be interested in, especially you Ash seeing you love facts, figures and performance data. This guy is awesome. This particular link has him doing various tests on engine oil with added graphite. Very interesting.
  4. Somehow I missed this post. Sorry Ashley. That's the exact stuff right there in the link. I have limited myself to the 946ml for now as It goes a long way, but it's always better to bulk buy for sure. It is in my opinion one of THE best rubber/vinyl/plastic protector having UV protection built in. It's not a show pony product that looks good for a minute and washes away at the slightest hint of rain. There are many products out there now, but it would cost me too much to test them all. I can say that other products may have the same effect as 303, but you'll spend a lot of money finding out.
  5. I recently purchased a toolpro low profile trolley jack in addition to my very heavy 3 tonne ( I think it is), and use it for the more simpler jobs rather than have to mobilize the old brute. It normally retails for $99. Got it on sale for $58.49 !! You couldn't even have it painted for that for crying out loud.. Bargain, and the beauty is that it's light, easy to use and you can put it in the boot. I wish I bought two as they have now gone back to the regular price of $99. I love the sales at SCA !
  6. So do you replace the hydraulic oil in your jacks Ash ? The only time I've ever done this is when one of my trolley jacks developed a leak when a 'friend' borrowed it and the idiot put brake fluid in it. It was a long time ago and I ended up scrapping it and bought a new one. I've had my trolley jack for around 15 years now and it's been good to me. So should we replace the oil in our jacks ?
  7. I can appreciate what you're saying there Adrian. You put it nicely when you said, "my car doesn't know the difference". I had a little chuckle actually.. I'm just OCD when it comes to my cars among other things. Even my motorcycle I'm very fussy about and only use Factory replacement parts when available and at the right price. Sometimes ebay can produce a nice Easter egg from time to time and I stock up on parts I don't need, but always nice to have when they are becoming harder and harder to find N.O.S. items.
  8. Wow ! That's a big hit. That one I linked to Gumtree went pretty quick. At $250, I should've bought it and made it wall art or something.
  9. Do you recall how much you paid ? If it's reasonable enough, I'd get a fresh set and keep them until such time they are needed for a refresh.
  10. Another Tony ! Welcome aboard mate. I must say, I've never heard of a Porte until now. Interesting. Post up some photos if you can. Stay safe !
  11. Hi Marty, Not sure if you've fixed this yet but If you still have the car, measure the side that's working with a thermometer probe and see what air off temp you see. Just position it into you air vent. It should be around 5ish degrees C. If you have this temperature, your A/C's refrigeration side is working fine. Not sure of the innermost workings of your Kluger, but I would say your issue typically sounds like a control valve is faulty or stuck inside the Air box which directs the cool / warm air OR your climate controller is faulty. Could be as simple as that.
  12. Morning mate. I had also started to fall into the same trap there Ash. I'd see an great price at SCA and never bother to check to see what the competion is doing. I now do a crossectional check just to be sure, but typically Repco have been known to be a rip off, but it seems they have changed this perception somwhat in recent times.
  13. Wow. I'm not up to speed on most Japan based cars, but when I saw the word 'Crown' I had to have a closer look. I've always admired the Crown models here in Australia. Such a shame we don't have them anymore. True luxury and a V8 too, wow. That must be so nice to drive. Congratulations ! Here's a bit of info I found about the 2004 from Wiki. The fourth generation Crown Majesta received a complete redesign when it was introduced on July 6, 2004. In August 2006, the Celsior was no longer offered in Japan, due to the introduction of the Lexus brand there. The Crown Majesta replaced the Celsior, despite objections from Japanese customers. It introduced the first Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) integrated vehicle handling and software control system and radar adaptive cruise control with low-speed tracking function. The engine was upgraded to the 3UZ-FE V8, shared with the USA-spec LS. The transmission was upgraded to a 6-speed automatic, the all-wheel-drive system was improved, and the air suspension was introduced. Intelligent adaptive front lighting and rear curtain airbags were added to improve safety. Enhancements were made to the interior of the vehicle, including a rear-view camera and parking assistance technology. A supercharger option was also offered with a 6-speed transmission, allowing the engine to produce 253 kW (339 hp; 344 PS). Prices were around US$69,400 for the Crown Majesta AWD. In July 2004, the Crown Majesta introduced both a lane keeping assist and a radar pre-collision system with a single camera to improve the accuracy of collision forecast and warning and control levels.
  14. I wonder how many DOT 3 or DOT 4 that actually don't meet SAE standard ? I wouldn't think many would exist. Castrol always inspire confidence in their products. I've been using Castrol fluids in my BMW for the past 12 years and never had a problem. In fact, Just recently I did the diff oil, flushed the brake fluid and the engine oil. All Castrol. Have yet to do the manual transmission and coolant.
  15. 2 for $5.98 ! There you go Robert. Don't you love the sound the virtual sound it makes when turning pages. check it out.. https://www.autobarn.com.au/catalogue
  16. I've lost count how many times I've done that My local Supercheap are trying their best to observe personal distancing when I went there, but it seems there are still a few numb nuts who were in store, did not. I had my boy with me too and I was tempted to say something, I chose not too and ushered oursleves around to avoid any close proximity. Go figure..
  17. Wow ! Just when you thought it couldn't get any lower. I think their trying to get people away from Bunnings. You should've seen my local Bunnings. Went there yesterday to grab a few items and the carpark was absolutely chokkers and the line up to the door was horrendous. Like you were lining up to get into a night club... When I saw this I turned around and drove home. There was no way I was going to line up. This Corona thing is out of control.
  18. It's a Master Piece Adrian . At one point I had around half a dozen Nulons on my shelf. Haven't had to buy some for a while. 6.1lt is a bit of a farce too. I've always put the entire 6lt in it and it gets it to full. I'm assuming 6.1lt is the actual capacity from "dry" perhaps, cos one 6lt will do the job nicely. There's no way I'm springing an extra $24 for the 1lt bottle, and Oil Companies along withToyota can take that to their next General meeting too. It sucks though that if you have a 5lt and have to crack open another 5lt to get that 1lt you need, then you have 4lt left.. and on it goes. This is why I always try and get the 6 lt when it's on special. Keep up the nice work mate
  19. I hear you mate. Sometimes motivation is hard after you've been working 5 sometimes 6 days a week, do all the yard work among everything else..
  20. I have a small stash too lol.. I've got 2 x 6lt 5W - 30 Nulon in my garage. Should see me through till the next specials.
  21. Dot 4 and even the DOT 5.1 is fine. Not to be confused with DOT 5. That's a silicon based fluid and NOT to be used in modern cars. It's mainly for industrial machinery. Actually I'm considering eventually moving to the DOT5.1. Same as DOT 3 and 4, with an even higher boiling point than DOT 4. Scotty Kilmer claims it to be the best brake fluid ever made and he's no lunatic either 😂
  22. If you've got five, then I should probably see another 6 to 7 given the Remsa pads claim to last longer than the bendix. Damn.. That'll also mean I'll be 7 years older too.. DOH !!!
  23. Went online this morning and ordered the brake pads. I decided to get the Remsa pads based on the advice here. Got 2 sets for the front and 1 for the rear. The prices were pretty good so I said why not. An extra set on the shelf for when required. I don't have to worry about brake pads for a while now.. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Remsa-Ultra-Ceramic-Rear-Brake-Pads-1285-02UC-DB1475-Camry-Aurion-Avalon/254531108722?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Remsa-Ultra-Ceramic-Front-Disc-Brake-Pads-1467-02UC/192911354669?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
