  1. Yes, Hiro. The drilling of the holes via a template would also be a consideration if this is the way they mount too.
  2. Hey mate. I think you got bad advice from someone there at Toyota . I can't see a compatibility issue if he is selling you the same spoiler that's in the picture . The sheet metal on your 2013 is the same as a 2016 so it should be a direct fit. I suspect what he may been trying to say is that you will receive a stock spoiler that is not painted and as such will require a panel shop to colour match and install. That's what he was alluding to as being "Incompatible "
  3. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301216741309 These are the ones that came with my car. If you prefer original equipment. Just like Mikhale said, they have the eyelets to keep them fixed.
  4. Hi Natalie . I'm not familiar with the 40 series GPS requiring the insertion of a disc to enable its function. Maybe someone who has such a vehicle can chime in. But for my 2 cents worth, sounds like the unit has malfunctioned and I hasten to say that it wouldn't be cheap to replace. Me personally. If you want to keep the car tip top, I'd get someone to confirm that it is actually faulty, Then ring around some wreckers and get a good 2nd hand one. New prices would be horrendous I imagine. Ring Toyota and first and make sure you are seated... If your not too concerned about it not working, just use your smart phone's GPS. I always use Google Maps App and I reckon it is excellent. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Cheers 👍
  5. After you reset data it's normal for the numbers to overshoot. I have noticed this too on mine. It usually takes around 5 or so minutes of driving before it finds its sweet spot. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you are noticing the fuel guage diminish as if you were driving a 6lt V8. The ecoguage is only useful the longer you drive. Short distances doesn't allow it enough time to get to that sweet spot. Forgive me if you've already mentioned, but have you noticed heavy consumption ? How many Kays do you normally get per tank ?
  6. I always do my research before taking the plunge. The seller I purchase from doesn't only sell filters. He also sells Genuine replacement parts too. Has an excellent track record. If anyone is interested I can send the link.
  7. How often do you do a data refresh ? From memory , it's the button on the steering wheel to the left with "DISP" printed on it. Push and hold and your old data gets erased and so the new data will be more accurate . Do this each morning before you drive off. Read about it in your owners handbook.
  8. With regards to the transmission fluid. Check the data specs in your handbook and just get whatever fluid falls into the specified range. I don't think anyone particular brand is really important. Just another bad topic with too many fighting words. I try and steer clear of oil threads and or questions. Let us know how you get on. All the best 👍
  9. You can just about exclude those from the U.S. The shipping alone would make it an unviable purchase. For me, air filters can be whatever decent brand you can find but oil related filters I always try to use genuine service parts and not take a risk with the cheap and nasty copies. I recently purchased two Genuine Toyota oil filter kits on ebay (free shipping too) that was cheaper than the Ryco ones at your local supercheap. I haggled the seller a little and he gave me a pretty good deal. I'll definitely go back when I need more. For the sake of the extra few dollars, do your engine a favour and have piece of mind.
  10. Forget new parts and the rip off that comes with these. I'm sure if you dig around you'd score a nice tidy second hand unit somewhere. I wonder if the 50 series ones are the same. If so, try and get one off the latest model that's being wrecked.
  11. How much was it ?? Dealer parts prices always make me dizzy..
  12. Why don't you just upgrade to a Sportivo and save the grief of trying to replicate one ? The 40 series are pretty cheap now.
  13. I never buy from dealers. Looks like you purchased from the typical scumbag. Warranty exists for a reason and it's by no mean a tool for the weasel dealer to wriggle out from a genuine claim that could have been a pre existing issue band aided just to flog the car off. Follow the advice as above and I'd also let the omdudsman know. Please let us know how you go.
  14. Modern cars have superior braking ability to when I used to drive a falcon XB for example . Those cars didn't stop well and it all comes back to your driving style. I have noticed that modern day drivers tend to be more impatient and hence drive faster and closer to the car in front leaving little room for error . Now with the proliferation of IDIOTS who text and drive it doesn't surprise me the amount of low and high speed collisions that occur . IF you have had new pads installed, only use Genuine parts or a high quality replacement. Give the new pads time to bed in and you will feel more confident . The Toyota engineers know what they are doing when they design these cars. I wouldn't try to re invent the wheel when it comes to brakes on a modern day car. Cheers 👍
  15. Go back to them and make some more noise if I were you. Ask to take a couple of other 2016 models for a test and see how they react. Could be something with the new transmission I couldn't say for sure as I'm not up to speed on the latest range. Aurions by nature should be a very well sorted vehicle by this time and the evolution should dictate a better car than the previous models. Keep on their back and don't suffer fools gladly . Their could be an issue with the new transmissions looming here like the pathetic sticky dash issue of the 40 and camry variants. Mechanics are told what to say, so If I were you , take it up with management and make them sweat. Let us know how you get on .
  16. I wonder if this issue is a possible carry over to the 50 series ? It seems the 40 series has had too many issues but I rarely hear of issues with the 50 series . I did consider purchasing a 40 back when i was looking mainly due to price but after doing some research I decided on the 50 series and was happy to pay more money for it. No offense to 40 series owners. Just my 2 cents worth.
  17. Our 10/2012 Prodigy was purchased with 45,000 kays on the odo approximately 3 years ago. Its now a tad under 69,000 kays. Daily driver. I do all the services myself . OIl is done 10k and under using fully synthetic oil and a new filter each time. I also use the Genuine Toyota filter as I can get these heaps cheaper online than those over priced Ryco ones at the locals.... and the Ryco don't give give you a replacement sump bolt gasket. I am planning to do the coolant and brake fluid flush soon. Cheers 👍
  18. Could be a wheel bearing seeing you have an older vehicle . Could be brake pads or even more simply some road grit had deposited in the friction path of the brake pads and discs. Check the wheel nuts have been tightened correctly . Sometimes the mechanics forget to ensure all wheels have been torqued up. It wouldn' be tyre related as you mentioned they are new. Let us know what you find. Cheers !
  19. I hate when some ignorant person asks what car i drive and when I say Aurion, they say you mean a Camry ?. I then say.... NO..... Aurion. They stopped making V6 camrys a very long time ago. Aurion and Camry don't compare. I hate 4 cyl cars full stop. I love the driving dynamic of the 2GR-FE What a great engine and it will reward you if you drive it smoothly. As for how to make mine stand out ? I think a clean, straight and shiny car will always stand out. I'm pretty fussy with my cars and only use boutique car care products to keep mine in great condition. Foam pre soak. 2 bucket wash (PH Neutral car soap) Acid free wheel cleaner. (using the appropriate wheel brushes) I always clean the inner guard sections too with high pressure washer. Aqua wax and a high quality micro fibre drying towel. Tyre dressing to finish off. That's what makes my Prodigy stand out.
  20. Mate, I couldn't tell you exactly. I had them replaced around 6 months ago from Bob Jane at Blacktown and haven't checked the pressures since. My wife drives it mostly as I have a company vehicle and don't get much time to go over it except on weekends. Last week I had the front jacked up to do the oil service and was able to see that the tyres are wearing nice and evenly. They did a magnificent job on the alignment on all 4 wheels as it was out to buggery previously. A good alignment makes a huge difference as you know. I'll have to pop in to the local service station and check my pressures now that you've mentioned it. Whatever the guys at Bob Jane pumped them to I couldn't tell you. But in saying this, the car felt amazing to drive as I left the shop. So quiet and smooth was the immediate reaction. And the road manners were greatly improved. Primacy LC Tyres are excellent and I highly recommend these for an Aurion .
  21. I can also vouch for the Primacy LC. The original Bridgestone tyres were rubbish and were very noisy. I did some research and decided on the Primacy LC. Best tyres I've had. Super smooth and super quiet for the comfortable saloon the Aurion is meant to be.
  22. Hey Robert, thanks for chiming in. To be honest, the car doesn't get used very heavily. My wife only drives it to work and back and the occasional trip here and there. I keep a couple of foam boxes in the boot for the shopping bags etc and I can honestly say everything in the boot is like new. The car is like new so I'm unsure what would be causing only the rear sensors not to work. I'll wait till Saturday to have a bit of a dig around. Week days are too hectic. Hopefully someone who has had to deal with this issue is able to impart some knowledge on the subject. Until then i'll have to do a bit of research into it. Thanks for all your responses.
  23. Hi Trent, No work has been done on the car. It's all original. I'm suspecting a loose plug or something, But am unsure where to look. Could it be a main device that governs the parking sensors ?? I've never fiddled with parking sensors before.
