  1. I'm trying to research the correct replacement rotors. Does anyone have the dimensions of the factory stock item so I can compare heights ? I'm getting a consistent diameter of 296mm, but some vary on the height. What can the height difference affect ? Also, there are rotors for Aurions with Advics and PBR brakes...??? How do I know which one I have ? I'm at work atm and my wife drives the Aurion.
  2. Nice find Krig. I've been looking online for some refils. All the one's I've found have either been too expensive or too crap. I'll have to swing by Big W and take a look. Thanks mate
  3. I don't know why I haven't got one yet. I am looking around for a decent workshop manual that covers the 50 series. I realise that the Camry/Aurion variants share a lot of common parts, but I'm unsure what differences actually exist between the 40 and the 50 series cars. What manuals are you guys using ? This one covers Aurion from 2006-2011 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-AURION-2006-2011-FACTORY-WORKSHOP-SERVICE-REPAIR-MANUAL-ON-CD-THE-BEST-/332074578004?epid=572848730&hash=item4d512ff054:g:RrcAAOSwB-1Y2Clw Then there's this Pricey one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Aurion-Camry-2006-2013-Gregory-Service-repair-Workshop-Manual-/362084598338?hash=item544dec8242:g:SSsAAOSwd4tUA5Ba And this Haynes manual (from the U.K.), and half the price of a locally sourced one, go figure.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Haynes-Workshop-Manual-Toyota-Camry-Toyota-Aurion-2006-2013-Service-Repair-/401395019896?epid=207728378&hash=item5d7501f078:g:Z5sAAOSwcndZqB6I
  4. I will definitely be replacing as a pair. I was somewhat surprised at the excessive wear of the inner side of the drivers rotor. I plan to get two new rotors and pads. Hopefully the right caplier doesn't give me too much grief. I might just remove the driver's caliper first and see if there is something sticking before I proceed with the new parts. If so, I can correct or replace the caliper if need be.
  5. I agree with Trent, especially the criss cross tightening method. When I've had to do any gasket work I use 'Loctite #4' or a 'Permatex' equivalent to give the gasket a nice bond and seal. Never had a leak. Just make sure that you are meticulously clean. Clean all surfaces properly with a wax and grease remover and apply your sealer paste/gasket and you should be good to go.
  6. I recently inspected my front rotors/pads. Pads are almost due. I was also surprised at the wear of the right front disc though. I don't have a decent set of verniers, but I suspect it's more than likely surpassed the minimum thickness. Looks like I'll definately be up for some new rotors when I replace the pads. The 1st pic is the passenger side. The 2nd is the drivers side.
  7. Thanks for that info Ash. I suspect then for the rest of us who don't flush the way you, my reckoning would be to just use the Toyota ATF. That way there's no potential for cross contamination of factory fill fluid to third party fluid.
  8. So the Penrite product is ok to use even though Penrite specify WS ? Has anyone used this product?
  9. I agree Krig. As cars become more sophisticated, so too does the service parts pricing structure. I'm not a fan of the intank filter, but we're stuck with it. All Genuine parts suppliers are shamelessly expensive. They don't need to be, but it seems that gouging the consumer has become the order.
  10. Just another quick question guys. What's the minimum rated thickness for the stock rotors on the Aurion ?
  11. Good to see you got it all sorted Darren. Good work. I just shudder a little at the cost of those discs. Man alive ! I wonder if that 40 series TRD brake set up will also bolt up to the 50 series cars... Trent ? Hiro ?
  12. I've not even begun investigating a replacement head unit for mine. My cd player shat itself not long after I bought the car. My wife put a disc in and it got stuck. Had to open it up to get the disc out. It still doesn't work and I don't really care anyway. I don't use CDs in cars, I like the radio better. I enjoy my music proper on a home HiFI system. If you need to, just hook up and MP3 player.
  13. Sorgus. That's how the Sportivo SHOULD have looked like. You should send a copy of that pic to Toyota Head of design dept. I also agree. That rear end looks awesome ! It also appears that the tail lights are of a custom nature too, the inspiration taken from the BMW tail light design features.
  14. Yikes !! Don't attempt to pry it off. You will break it. I agree with Krig. Remove the door card and investigate first. It could be simply held together by screws, or it may well be just glued on. Look before you leap ! Another thing I'd do is visit a local wrecker and see if they have any damaged Aurions with damaged door card and ask the friendly wrecker bloke if it's possible to figure it out, unless the wrecker knows.
  15. According to Toyota Aurion spec list for your car, it seems that it did have traction control, even the ATX. I'm not sure about this, but I suspect it's always 'activated' with no means to switch it off. Me personally, why would you opt to turn it off anyway ? For a relatively powerful front wheel drive V6 car, you'll need all the traction you can get.
  16. Hahaha !! I had the very same question about a week ago and thought I'd better not ask. The wipers on mine needed cleaning so removal was necessary I went to you tube and did a camry wiper blade removal search and It was there. Toyota Aurion/ Camry obviously being identical, you'd have better luck just searching Camry rather than Aurion as most videos uploaded are for the U.S and they've never heard of an Aurion. I wash my blade and then with some general purpose thinner and clean cloth, I wipe the blade's leading edge and this removes any flaws and the wiper blade is ready for use again, just like putting in a new one.
  17. Fingers crossed they don't ask stupid money. The seats look like a dark mulberry. What colour is yours ?
  18. Bro. Hang out for the original TRD stuff. The TRD was a 40 series only release and parts may be harder to come by. Be patient and good things will come. You'll be far more happier mate. Spend a bit extra and get quality.. My opinion. Don't waste your money on generic crap. You'll never be satisfied.
  19. The Aurion is far superior to Holden or Ford cars. Your dad's friend is spot on. I've owned Toyota cars for most of my driving history and can honestly say that I've never had anything go wrong. The Aurion is a sleeper car. A beast. It has the power to accelerate past most other cars and yet be a comfortable, safe and economical vehicle. Those who don't own an Aurion are seriously missing out.
  20. Haha, a couch on wheels is the exact description. Still a great car. Not so great for cornering, but will propell you in a straight line very quickly and respectably. My dad had one for 14 years and did well over 300, 000 kays on it. The guy down the road bought it from us and loves it. It still drives very nicely. My dad looked after it well. Had it serviced regularly and spared no expense on it when it required it. He got jealous when I purchased late model Aurion and so he sold it and purchased an Aurion like mine hahahaha !!! The Aurion is a much better car than the Avalon, but, there is no reason the avalon cannot do 500,000 kays on the same engine.. That 2GRFE engine is bullet proof.
  21. Finally got around to fitting the 3D mats. Very satisfied.
  22. So does anybody know if Toyota is still providing the touch up cans for our cars ?? I Still have the touch up can they so generously provided with my 2013 Dual cab Hilux. I'd love to know if they actually sell ones for passenger cars.
  23. I'm not a fan of tacky add ons. Mate, get yourself a proper TRD grille instead. Mor3 expensive, yes. But, it will fit properly and is of sound quality.
  24. Is this the same grille you were after ?? If it's some cheap and Nasty Made in Chine Knock off I'd beware. Read the thread.
