  1. Tony my friend there can never be too many Pic's of your beauty, hope all goes well with the full treatment. Yes have seen a few videos of the Avalon king Ceramic and it looks a good product so let me know what you think when all done. Keep Safe Keep Strong Mate KAA
  2. Tony I am in the same position having not washed Faye in months, mostly due to it being bloody cold or pouring rain about. So she is overdue for a wash and check over. I do however have the Flex wax coating on her so she doesn't look dirty just very light dirt on the wheel's lower body so should be fairly easy. I also when drying her open the bonnet to wipe off the water and she gets a good look over then for anything odd. Looking forward to your Pic's of the wash and Ceramic Coating applied she will glow well for sure mate. KAA
  3. Hi Michael yes the cost in rebuilding an engine is too scary to think about especially these days and as he said buying a used one from a wrecker is a toss of the dice to get something even reasonable. So yes the oil and filter cost is the way too go. I had a laugh being asked do you want a new filter as well, and hmm a hatchback Camry wow they sneaked that model under the radar😄😄 Let us know how things go mate KAA
  4. Yes Michael I am of the same mind it is after all your money, so regardless of what the dealership says just tell them to do it. As AMD said in the video the cost of oil changes is vastly cheaper than an engine rebuild. KAA
  5. Yes Ash, he is the go too man for anything Toyota or Lexus, love his new workshop and so happy too see him doing well out on his own. I found the video so very interesting as I had never seen a brand new short block fresh from Toyota. The fact that the safe behind the screen trolls try to shake him up is nothing new so many these days are brave when hidden, but he handles them well and he knows so many will trust and follow his advise. The only sad part is he is so far away from us here, and will never get to show us tricks and tips for our Aurions but at least Camry is about and we may find something useful from those. KAA
  6. Watched this excellent video from The Car Care Nut last night, and it hammers home the reason as to why you should change your oil before the recommended change interval Toyota recommends. He shows exactly what can occur if you only do it by what they recommend for warranty, so enjoy and make sure to change your oil regularly. KAA
  7. Same for me, I love our 2009 Presara it has been a dream to own and still looks brand new outside and in. Same view as Tony not thinking about selling or trading in for something new. I put a lot of love into our "Faye" and in return she is a wonderful drive each and every time we manage to go for a cruise. And on top of that the fuel economy is fantastic in these very difficult days of horrendous fuel prices. When your on a good thing stick with it, KAA
  8. Hi mate, besides going genuine I would be searching online wreckers for a replacement as that is probably your best bet for a handle sorry to hear it broke as that does sound a rare event let us know how you get on KAA

  18. Oh Tony, Your like detailing porn mate 🤣🤣 love the look of those pressure washer snow cannon looks fantastic, and to come with the extra adapters is excellent as I only have the one Karcher Washer so it would be handy for me so will check it out. Those brushes look very good quality and love the fact they have the anti knuckle skin removers on them is a bonus mate hope they worked out well for the "Detail King" that you are. Thanks for the Pic's my friend appreciate them Keep Strong Keep Safe Mate KAA
  19. I often wondered about checking those filter on the VVTI lines, The Car Care Nut didn't really specify servicing them so am unsure if it is a required service item so any information on them could prove interesting. I have never touched mine since having the car, as she is now 13 years old an I never get a VVTI rattle I have chosen to not touch what isn't broken and just do very regular services with good quality oils. But would be good to know if they should be removed and cleaned. KAA
  20. Hi Guys As Tony mentioned I also have not heard of an Aurion grenading because of the VVTI system collapsing as The Car Car Nut mentioned. However as Ash and many have said keep the OSI intervals up to date and treat our beauties with TLC and we wont ever have to worry about it. Just found his explanation very informative and interesting as always with him. KAA
  21. Hi All, I watched this excellent video from one of my favourite You Tube mechanic's The Car Care Nut. this one explains brilliantly why we can get VVTI rattle on cold start up, I encourage all to watch it as he explains it very easily and expertly. Enjoy KAA
  22. Welcome to the forum Peter, Excellent lifespan on the commuter and if you look after your Welcab it will treat you right KAA
  23. Welcome to the forum Lori, hope you do have no issues with your Rav4 but any questions please ask we will do our best to help. KAA
  24. Hi Roice, Have you serviced the transmission? changed the fluid and filter? the idea of a sealed for life transmission is not true as what do you regard as a lifetime sealed transmission? I am sure others will throw their brilliant minds to this issue for you as well but at least we can eliminate things if you provide more information about service history. So let us know what you can about what the issue is as in noises does it jump in other gears besides 2nd gear things like that. KAA
  25. Hi Kat, Welcome to the forum. What unit did you buy on eBay another SD Card? I choose not to trust eBay anymore for good reliable quality tech. Depending on what money you can spend my first choice would be ditch the head unit and buy something new as many around at good prices and you at least will get the latest maps with them, and usually 1 year of updates as well. Others on here who live closer may be able to assist and I hope they do, if you do choose to replace the unit pick a very reliable audio place who offer installation or at least can access the wiring harness and surround trim for ease of installation. If not going that route then maybe see if a good Toyota Service place can help with map SD cards. But with the age of the vehicle my personal choice would be going a new unit as we all deserve to spoil ourselves on occasion. Let us know what you decide, KAA
