  3. Hi Ash, Yes barely noticeable difference in light output between the 2, but as you know Stedi will for sure outlast the other one, now the only fun to have is getting a human hand into the small space to replace the driver side blub LOL. When I replaced mine there we words spoken at a volume that caused my lady to tell me to calm chill and have a coffee several times LOL then she had the job of applying the band aids to the cuts on the knuckles LOL Thanks for the Picture mate KAA
  4. Well it's good that no codes came up on the scanner, I do hope it is something simple that they pick up on when they check over it. As Tony suggested maybe it is a bad coil pack well worth checking that out mate, letus know the outcome I hate those intermittent mysteries KAA
  5. Hi Steve, I personally don't go with random when engine lights flash mate, it could be one but I would suggest having a mechanic plug in a reader and check out what could be something simple before it becomes something major. Always better to be sure rather than go with the it will be OK, these days we are driving computers so one small fault can affect so many other things, and as you describe a rough starting engine and flashing check engine light get it looked at soon in case. I know others will throw their ideas of a possibility your way mate, let us know how things turn out. KAA
  6. Welcome to the forum Mal, there are some awesome minds on here who no doubt will assist the best they can mate Hope the land of the long white clouds is doing good and your safe and healthy KAA
  7. Adam I would think besides genuine parts your only option would be a wrecker, many even if they don't have one, they can source one from another online, so check a few of those you may get lucky, if not then you may have to do the online searching yourself mate and yes I think not being sealed it would still work but not to it's best. Good Luck KAA
  8. Welcome to the forum Jay, glad your with us, hope you are enjoying the conquest KAA
  9. Hi Robin, Yes there would be a lot of Car Audio Specialist's around your way but check online first see what they offer, I then try and narrow the search to the one I like and see how the prices at various places compare, Then give the place a call and discuss what you wish, I went with them installing our unit as they are the professionals and a new head unit will need the cables so your steering wheel functions work with the new unit unless you don't intend using those. So look online find what you like research the head unit never hurts either, read reviews on the unit then a phone call or drop in and see them. Just make sure you try and buy the best you can for the price you can afford, our head unit came with an up to date GPS card with a free update available online. Good Luck keep us updated and maybe a few pic's of your car and anything you end up with, we love seeing others cars. KAA
  10. Hi Robin, As tony said there are a lot of aftermarket head-unit's that will do the job your after, I replaced ours with a nice Clarion unit (photos on my profile on here if you wish to see it installed)but buy the best quality unit you can afford is my advise. I would suggest you contact or search online the good quality car audio stores in your area, as buying online has good and bad things attached to it. I always prefer to go into a store and check out in person what I am after that way you can ask questions and physically see all the things available. A lot of sales coming up I am sure as we creep towards Christmas and New Year, so they could also make it a bit cheaper for you. I am not sure if the original Head Unit in our 2009 Presara is 6 inches I think it was, All I know is when Monster Audio installed the Clarion unit they also had the perfect colour trim surround that made it a great swap out. Let us know how you get on Robin and if you need any more information or help KAA

  15. Hi all, I consider myself a very lucky man to have 2 wonderful beauties in my life, One I am fortunate enough to be married to and the other I am fortunate enough to own. I always try to treat both with love consideration and great care and attention. I recently went online to see what new products and microfibre towels are out and prices, checking out some of the bigger auto supply stores and Bunnings, I have tons of smaller Microfibre cloths all for various jobs but I was shocked at how much they rip us off for drying cloths/towels. The average prices I saw were anything from $13.00 upwards to $50.00 !!!!! So I checked out Kmart while awaiting my beloved (who was trying on clothes "Yawn") and discovered a drying towel of a decent size for only $4.50, Ok maybe not made by bejewelled beautiful women sitting hand stitching the seams but decent enough to dry water off a car. So if your after something that is OK and will do the job well give them a try, as no way will I pay the crazy prices they ask for a drying towel just to clear water off a car. Now if it washed waxed polished and detailed the car while wiping water off then OK but it is a piece of material so save the hip pocket I say and spend that hard earned money on decent products and tools KAA
  16. Hi Colin, I would suggest you chat with Ashley, his experience with desludging an Aurion is top of the shelf. It will in the long run be your best and cheapest option and also allow you to give the engine a really good look over while doing the filter and oil changes. Best of luck mate KAA
  17. Hi Kevin, Glad your really enjoying the new baby, Toyota have always been one step ahead on the details with cars, I have always and still do enjoy all the simple operating gadgets in our car and as you said the safety features just give me that extra feeling of security driving out there with all the nut jobs around me. Hopefully you will get to add a lot more Klm's on the dial with a nice long holiday road trip. Keep Well and Keep Safe KAA
  18. Hi Colin, I agree with Ashley's questions mate, more information is needed to really give any advise. The sludgy engine can be treated depending on how bad it really is, Ashley has had vast experience with dealing with a sludgy motor so I am sure he will help once we get more info, so unless it is a lost cause changing an engine over from different models can have its own issues and costly. Let us know what else you can and I am sure many will try too assist you KAA
  19. Hi Kevin, a lovely looking car mate, hope you and your lady enjoy the new Toys, thanks for the picture keep them coming as well as how you find the Ascent's KAA
  20. OK I have been wanting to use this product and then do a report about my experience with it. Now I am not in the league of an expert in detailing but I must admit I do enjoy learning about new products and giving them a try out. So for a first time use of the new Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Graphene Flex Wax I found it bloody awesome, the ease of use the end results show for themselves in the attached Pictures. The idea that the product can be used in 3 ways makes it a perfect addition to my cleaning supplies. I used the First method of a Base Coat applied on a very clean and dry car using the smallest amount on the applicator pad and then micro fibre buffed off to leave a extremely high gloss silky smooth finish. The other application methods I think I will try next wash, method 2 is to wash the car well and while wet apply 2 small sprays per panel and with a cloth buff dry, or method 3 while wet spray 2 light sprays and then using high pressure water spread and wash off. I guess that is why it is called flex wax as it is a very flexible product and does allow for any level of experience, as if you do find you have applied too much you use a damp micro fibre cloth to level it out before buffing it off So hope any who are wondering about trying the new Turtle Wax products I suugest giving them a try, but follow the instructions closely as a little will go a very long way. Keep Safe KAA
  21. Welcome to the forum Matt, Great choice to go back to something you have enjoyed and driven before. The reliability of Toyota has always been a deciding factor in my choice to stick with something I love and still to this day enjoy climbing behind the wheel and sliding into comfort. The idea of you trying to get a lady to do things like you would do them made me laugh, I only ever asked my wife to do 2 things when behind the wheel, don't smash it up and don't blow it up, that is why we are still in love to this day. I am sure as the time goes by your lady will enjoy the comfort and reliability of the Avalon, at least you can rest easy knowing she is in a safe and reliable car whenever she is out of sight. Keep Well KAA
  22. HI Adam, Awesome that those pesky lights have been sorted out, The old quote of if it's not broken leave it alone comes to mind in your case, always the way that you think your doing something right and then boom all sorts of issue show up. Glad Toyota got that pipe and coil pack done especially the recall on the cooler pipe, it was a real issue with so many being brought to a horrible halt with oil everywhere very fast. Keep Safe KAA
  23. Hi Jeff, That is awesome news mate, as Ash said 90% of any comments about Toyota are positive ones, like any company it can come down to who you deal with for service, they make or break your outlook on the company. Mostly my dealings with Toyota have been with Parts (as I have a wonderful mechanic I have used for many years so only he touches the car) and I have always found them to be very helpful, so I am very pleased to hear they went above and beyond for you. Glad your back in your Kluger and enjoying the road again, look after yourself KAA
