  1. Ok by the looks of the pics you're in luck. Once again I don't have Climate so I can only speculate, but by the looks of the pics the lights behind those buttons are going to be the same or similar to the ones fitted to a standard A/C unit. I pulled apart my whole A/C unit to frig around with the bulb color and such and for your sake I hope the Climate unit is a very similar build (which it should be knowing Toyota). So what you need to do is firstly take of the Facia panel (the trim around your stereo,ashtray,A/C etc). Then you should see about 4 screws which hold the Climate unit in place, undo them and pull it out as far as the wiring will allow. If it's similar to mine you should then be able to find a lot of annoying small lift clips on the top, sides and bottom of the unit which will need to be carefully pryed up with a tiny flathead screwdriver. The face of the unit should then be able to be removed from the body. At this point you should be able to see the wiring connectors that plug into the back of the buttons, remove them (a bit fiddly). Now I'm not really sure on the rest of this cause Iv'e never opened a climate unit, but you'll either need to undo the wiring connectors from the button units and pull them out, or if the bulbs are already accessible as is on a Climate unit you should see a grey circle thingy with a cross indent (the base of the light bulb)sunk into the button units. Twist these grey bases with a tiny flathead screwdriver and you'll see the bulbs attached. Once again this info was just how I pulled apart a standard A/C unit so I'm not really sure if it will be the same for you but hopefully it is of some help :)
  2. Oh sorry I wasn't intending to sound rude, I just wasn't sure of what point you where trying to make :) I don't think the size would really make much difference in how well they stay fitted .
  3. Ummm I'm not really sure what you're getting at here. Are you saying that because these eyelids cover more of the headlight they are going to attach to the headlight better than other eyelids?? Most eyelids are just attached with 3mm automotive double sided tape. If they come with cheep double sided tape they are going to lift, if they come with quality proffesional double sided tape they will stick no matter how big or small they are.
  4. I'm not really 100% sure what the Climate unit looks like but from memory of the wrecks Iv'e looked at I've a bit of an idea. Are these the lights behind the display or lights that are behind buttons. If it's the lights behind the display it'll probably be expensive, however if it's lights behind buttons it's probably a simple fix. I changed all the lights in my gen4 Camry A/C unit (including the buttons) to red without any real problems (the bulbs cost me about $1.36 each from Toyota) and are bulbs that arn't easily found as they have a weird base. It was as simple as carefully prying open the unit and twisting out the bulbs and popping in the new ones. If you could post some pictures of the unit or explain in more detail I might have a cleare idea of what's going on as my Camry only has standard A/C not Climate.
  5. Which model Camry spoiler did you have in mind?? I'm happy to take pics of mine for you but unsure of it being the one you're looking for.
  6. Sorry it was a bad choice of words. Basicly on the underside of the relay you'll see a few contact points and for some reason mine where bent in towards each other a bit. So they pryed em outwards to increase the gap between them. However the fact that you have melting wires has me thinking it might not have anything to do with your relay's.
  7. I'm pretty sure there's only two relays for the headlights, one in the box that runs along the gaurd and another in the small box in front of the battery. I'm 99 % sure you have the same problem I had because mine ended up with the same problem as your's has and started to frizz out when I was switching the high beams off as opposed to what I previously explained. It was intermittent to start of with and would go weeks before playin up again, but then became more frequent and the behavior became irratic (the problem swapped actions multiple times) as yours seems to be. The only difference is that my lights where blacking out completly and yours is only the single bulb at a time. You shouldn't need to replace the relays just give them a good clean and check your combo switch.
  8. I had a very similar problem a couple of months ago. When I was driving with low beams and went to flick to high sometimes my headlights would black out completely. It turned out to be a a problem with a stuffed relay (in the tiny third fuse box in front of battery) and a burning out combo switch. In the end I took it to a sparky because I checked the main relay and fuses and didn't realise there was a second relay . All they did is clean up the relay and pry it open a bit more and clean up the combo switch contacts. Give that a shot and if it doesn't work try a sparky (only cost $35 to get mine fixed).
  9. Here is the part number for the Sportivo exhaust PZQ1933020 (the price will be $300 +). Realisticly 4KW isn't going to be the most noticable gain in the world, however it all adds up and I don't really see how an aftermarket exhaust is going to give you much more power than that. A lot of companies seem to advertise bigger power gains from mufflers but to be honest it's a load of BS. 4KW is actually pretty decent for doing nothing other than a muffler swap.
  10. Iv'e got one on my gen4 as well and gotta say it's a nice upgrade . There should still be some new as there was about 11 left when I bought mine about 6 months ago. Just hit up you Toyota service department and ask em to search for one in all states if they don't have one in stock, should turn up a few (I think there's some in Canberra). Oh and if you find one from a wreck it wont need to be cut of just unbolted ;) You could go with an aftermarket cat back but that's probably going to be louder not too sure if it would make more or less KW though.
  11. I really doubt your stock head unit would have rca plugs but you could always flip through your owners manual and see if there's any info on it. Better yet just ring a Toyota service department and ask em.
  12. Pretty much all Camry's have a boot release button on the floor there but that doesn't exactly help your situation as it's just a long cable release mechanism. It's kinda like comparing remote door locks to old school key types, actuators are needed to release the mechanism electronicly by remote. It could be done but it would be quite the job to install all the bits an pieces like wiring, actuators sensors etc and to then have your ECU recognise it and not set of the alarm.
  13. I don't really know about the price of the spoiler but in my experience Toyota dealerships often have different prices for accessories from town to town. Another thing you may want to consider is that another accessory made for the 36 series was spoiler risers which will pretty much give you the exact same look as the high mount spoiler does. These would be a lot cheaper to buy, spray and fit however Iv'e only ever seen two Sportivo's fitted with them before so they may be a bit of a trip to find.
  14. They can be re-used with a little creativity, the red one on the back of my car was pulled off a wreck. I've also got a spare black one (new and sealed) if you're interested.
  15. Nah you can set up with 18's for about half that if you shop around. Although those TRD rims are really nice, you always pay top dollar for anything TRD. Nice work though, they look wicked on the car!!
  16. Isn't Australia still limited to 110km on all roads regardless of speed signs. That is our national limit..get used to it as it's not going away.
  17. I'm pretty sure that's how it's meant to work as there's no electrical componets in the seatbelt. My 97 (same series) has always acted as you described. It's just a warning light like many others that lights up on ignition to remind you about it.
  18. Wow a promo' photo...who would have thunk it??
  19. Well what do you think ???? (slaps forehead) You can get performance tyres for pretty much any wheel size! Try talking to a tyre shop and find what's best for you.
  20. Just piggy back it of one your accesory electrics. As in, when you turn your key to ACC and a few things light up- stereo, clock etc, piggy back it of one of them and you should be sweet.
  21. Yeah you could swap with a V6 -3VZ-FE or 1MZ-FE, or even a 3SGTE. However all of those options are going to cost big dollars. Personally I would look into rebuilding the engine you have depending on its condition of course and if your happy with NA 4Cyl rather than swapping out your engine. My reason for this is that any engine you find cheap is gonna have well over 100 000km on it and you wont know a thing about it's history. 5SFE's are prone to sludge and grit as well as blowing there heads around 200K so buying one with say 160K cheap and putting it in your car is kinda so so in my opinion (might get a few years out of it before your back in trouble). At least if your engine is worth rebuilding you can start with a clean slate once it's done and have a great car for a long time after.
  22. Well you'll probably need to get a new harness for the headunit. And to do the front speakers there's not a cover over them so you'll have to remove the front door cards to gain access. Other than that to wire in speakers is easy, just connect positive and negative wires and your done.
  23. Hey all. In regards to lowering, superlows are fine even with low profile tires it's more your bump stops ,cambor/castor and bushings you need to be worried about. I'm speaking from experience here. My car is lowered with King superlows (roughly 2" drop) stiff as and rolling on 17" wheels and it's still smooth as factory but handles like a demon. Most people seem to think they can just lower a car (springs) on a factory suspension setup and your all good....WRONG. Without short bump stops, correct cambor and castor setup and decent struts, ie more than likely not the ones that are in your car and in bad need of replacing then your right... lowering and it will ride like crap. Not to mention bushes bushes every where to do this right. If you get yourself a GOOD setup with nothing overlooked dropping it by a whole heap will not be a problem.
  24. That actually looks kinda nice,I see where your coming from now. Doesn't give the taxi look like most others I've seen. I'm not really sure but I don't think we get that here as I've never seen one but I guess your best bet would be to contact Toyota and see if they have something like that.I reckon it would fit as the Aurion and Camry are pretty much the same car just with different bumpers and lights etc. That Thai Camry (Aurion) looks mad with that kit too, I like seeing what other countries have in the way of body styling.
  25. Hey there nice ride. As for aero kits I'm pretty sure our Camry is almost identical to yours so what you see is what you already have. Are you looking for one of those rear sunvisor thingy's or a boot spoiler. The rear spoiler of the Aurion will fit the gen6 Camry and however if your looking for one of those sunvisor things that I'm not to sure about. Just my opinion but those rear sunvisors look like **** on any car...if that's what your looking for why do you want to make it look like a taxi. It's a nice car the way it is, and dumped on it's ****...looks real good first lowered gen6 I think I've seen.
