  1. Yes. That is pretty much the purpose of the card apart from ATM usage. Have a look at the back and you should even see the EFTPOS logo (well it used to be there anyways). I take it you didn't even take a look at the letter your keycard was attached to then?
  2. Good point. My apologies. The Northern Territory and Western Australia is a bit more relaxed on their personal car import and registration requirements.
  3. No it is not screwed on. To be honest, why haven't you looked at it yourself before asking? You can easily remove the boot lining trim, then with that removed you have a clear view of the back of the boot lid where you will see the pins sticking through for the emblem. [/rant]* Sticking it on, I used automotive clear silicone (with care). It definitely ain't going anywhere after that. The boot emblem has a lot of hollow space in it and the back of it isn't perfectly flat meaning double sided body moulding tape will not be the most effective. * The laziness of people really sh!ts me off, so too bad if you get caught in the line of fire.
  4. I think you will find that they won't register it because it is LHD. Generally, LHD vehicles can only be registered if they are of a certain vintage or for restricted use only.
  5. I'm definitely going. More time waiting equals more time for the engine to cool from it's heat soak.
  6. In regards to that suspect VW that pulled into the loop last night, I passed by a nice shiny black Accord in the City just then. Had the same look to it as well as those distinct antennas at the front. Looked to be chauffeur driven and the two passengers were wearing some pretty expensive looking suits. Normal registration though so I don't think it would be a limousine.
  7. Sounds like the following has occurred. Firstly, you have a dodgy quality charger. Don't worry... there are lots out there. In the process of inserting/twisting it, it has blown the fuse on your accessory power outlet. If the front was working before, this charger probably blew that as well. When inserting/removing anything from the accessory power outlet, try to push it in as quick and firm as possible and same goes with removing it. Also try not to twist it around once plugged in. These can lead to blowing fuses as the way the power connector is designed can sometimes cause slight disconnection within the plug.
  8. Maaaatttttee. You worry too much: Knocking heard after installed the rear sway bar
  9. But then again, the TRD Aurion could have the same comment applied to it when it was sold and instead saying you could get an FPV or something Anyways, I'm not a fan of smaller cars so my comments are already biased. That said, I don't mind the look of the front end of that Focus, but the car in general just doesn't do it for me.
  10. Yes... yum it was. Thanks Dee. Yet another meet where my cheeks (of the facial variety) were left sore from laughing.
  11. Today I spotted a dark blue Yaris with the plates 'KABOD7' at about 7:10pm heading along Lutwyche Road/Gympie Road towards Westfield Chermside. Nothing done to it really. The reason why I posted this is because I passed this same Yaris again at about 11:13pm on the Centenary Highway just past the Kenmore Exit heading west while I was driving back from the meet. Just found it to be a funny occurrence.
  12. I'd recommend Demeter even if you aren't after something for the new car smell. Depends on what you like though. I like sweet scents and they have quite a few that fit the bill. Vanilla Cake Batter is a good one . They make nice interesting gifts as well. Only thing is that they don't particularly last very long (the body sprays). It's either that or your nose can adjust to it and neutralise the effect. If you get the room spray though, they do last a little longer but depending on your nose, expect to be using a spray of it every few days or so if you want the effect to really last.
  13. LOL. Probably could if you had a few more of them. They are seriously bright. I had to drive home with it today and was rather concerned. You know, that is actually quite a good idea. So much so... I went ahead and did that. I picked up the 200 mile per hour tape (gaffer tape for more durability) and got to work. I thought it would have been most effective covering half of it from left to right, but in the end, it didn't help much with reducing illumination outside of the plate, and it also dimmed the light used to light the plate up. Then I experimented with covering half of it from left to right. That seemed to do the trick. It turns out that the light illuminates too far over the end of the plate putting a fair bit of light everywhere else but the plate. So now I have 10 of the 18 LED's on each light covered and it has helped a fair bit. Even still, there is quite a lot of light, but it is better than before. At the same time, the illumination of the plate isn't affected. I couldn't take a photo from far back because I only just did it then and it's too quiet now to open the garage, but you kind get the idea if you compare it with my previous photo. The ground is still lit up a bit, but it's about half as much as before. So this is how much of the light is covered: And this is the end result. A fair bit of that illumination is light reflected back from the garage door. If you look to the sides of the plate though, you can clearly see that there is less light now:

    Only just got introduced.
  15. Same here. That's why I stopped using it. My X10 automatically posts my status updates to Twitter when I post it to Facebook, so I still keep it in the loop for that.

Do you guys picture this becoming a bit of a flop? I imagine it's going to turn out like Chatroulette or anything like that where in the end it's just going to be a bunch of guys using it with barely any female presence. Otherwise it will probably just be turned into another form of road rage. motorTEXTER * By the way, if you haven't been on Chatroulette, I wouldn't bother looking to see what it has become.
  17. Well I don't really keep an eye on it, but I can as required. I sent a request to follow you then.
  18. From 4:30pm? The meet is from 8pm so that's a fair bit of time before hand. I can adjust my departure from Noosa to swing by Chermside any time after 5pm, but then what's to do before the meet. Edit: Damn 4sq addiction
  19. Replacing both the shocks and sway bar bushes will be an easy DIY job. When I say easy, I just mean that if you have the tools and patience, you don't have to get a pro to do it. All you will need is a jack, set of jack stands, socket set and some spring compressors. As for changing only the fronts, you will be fine. The Excel-G's are basically just an OEM replacement so you pretty much won't be making an handling changes. As long as you change it in a front/rear pair as you will do, you will be fine. Just make sure you get a wheel alignment done afterwards. I also recommend getting new bump stops and boot kit (something like a Monroe Strut Mate kit) while you are at it.
  20. Well I got the new car smell back in my last Aurion buy using silicone and various other cleaning chemicals Made it feel like new again. But if you want to keep it safe and not resort to harmful chemicals to get that true smell back, there is one thing I have bought in the past that came reasonably close. It's from a place called 'Demeter Fragrance Library'. I bought one from them called 'Vinyl' and it had a similar smell to it like a new car. They also used to have a fragrance called 'New Money' which others had said worked pretty well for a new car smell, but I never bought it. Only tried the Vinyl (amongst other ones just for fun like 'Thunderstorm' and 'Laundromat'). On a side note, they have a pretty cool library there. Certainly get a few if you are going to buy some. Edit: By the way, if you want to know what chemicals can be used (not saying to do this) to get the true new car smell, check a look at this old analysis: http://www.sisweb.com/referenc/applnote/app-36-a.htm
  21. Referring to the Thursday night meet right (you never know)? In that case, I can give you a lift because I will conveniently be going to the loop after work... which will be in Noosa tomorrow.
  22. If I was to say who gives me a good service, I would say Southside Toyota at Wooloongabba. Definitely better service there than I got at Sci-Fleet Taringa. This is my personal reasoning though. I'm not after the personal tough or anything. I just want to drive in, drop the car off, say what I want done, get a call, have them tell me what they have found, pay for it, and then be on my merry way. From my experience here, these guys are efficient enough for me. On top of that, they do night service so I can call them in the morning, be able to drop it off at 4:30pm on the same day (other places I called before made me book like 1 week in advanced), and if all goes well, pick it up around 7:30pm.
  23. Final drive is your diff mate.
