  1. Realistically... what are you thoughts? Personally, just from the name alone I would call them a cheap crappy tire. But that said, they may work just fine in terms of everyday use, much like a cheap shoe can easily work for covering your foot and protecting it from the ground. It's just they may not be the safest tire out there should you ever come across a situation that may call on good grip, and as you said, wet weather performance may not be so great.
  2. LOL Rowan. See what happens when you miss meets.
  3. @ 1:16 - It's like Northy's SS was just gliding.

I did it mainly because I just wanted that strange feeling... but moreso because of Tethering. The one thing I miss about my HTC Diamond was the Bluetooth Internet Sharing that comes as standard. Unfortunately even with rooting the X10, I still can't get Bluetooth tethering (damn you 1.6... but that's soon to change), but the Wifi Tethering sure will be better than USB.
  5. You only need to ask questions like this once. We can hear you the first time. I posted the answer in your new thread. Powersteering fluid topup
  6. Most power steering fluid/ATF you buy these days is Dexron III or higher. As long as you don't go any lower (ie. Dexron II) then all should be backwards compatible even between brands. So basically, as long as you buy Dexron III or higher, you will be fine to top it up yourself.
  7. Dude, there is no "If" here. Just accept it's going to happen. And I expect the rest of you softies to take up the challenge as well. It's better to have tried and failed then not to have tried at all. But....... ....... damn :(
  8. I think I am going to have to kill myself with cardio on Friday. If someone (cough, Steve) decides on getting a sundae, then I will cave into the cravings and get myself one as well. Mega-cut plus sundae = bad for my diet.
  9. Interesting note there. So this is possible even if the SB plugs in series with the accelerator pedal only and with no other input/output? Because wouldn't it be the ECU limiting the throttle opening after receiving the signal from the accelerator pedal even at 100% throttle?
  10. Just do what I do. Hold the title (around here at least) until proven otherwise. I unofficially had statements saying I was the fastest N/A Aurion in Australia and now it appears... the fastest TRD Aurion. Until proof to show someone else is faster is presented, then around here you will be known as the fastest TRD Hilux.
  11. In theory though, if accelerating with WOT, then there would be no gain to be made right? That said, those that have purchased it (like yourself) have benefited mainly from the increased throttle response from lower revs which is basically speeding up the rate in which the throttle position changes. I personally think it is a trick of the mind thing, but I can't comment since I personally haven't tried it. Still curious to see how it affects your 1/4 mile times though since you are one of the fewer people out there who would be able to test that and post results (no one else seems to say anything). I would imagine that providing you never broke traction when mashing the accelerator from a standing start, then by being able to increase the throttle response, you should be able to gain a measurable figure.. even if it is 0.1 seconds.

LOL at all those Dave... but moreso the first few.

    Android Apps

Since this is the Android thread, I thought I would post this here. For those with an Xperia X10 who want to root your phone, the geeks out there have been really kind: Root your Xperia X10 and X10 mini in one click They make it so easy for those like me out there who just CBF doing it the long way. Edit: I tried this and it did not work. Turns out the person who posted it didn't test it properly either. Apparently though the slightly longer method shown in the following link also works on the X10. I guess I will soon find out: Root for X10 mini (pro) Edit 2: I have done the steps as per the edit above and can confirm that it works. My X10 is now rooted. I have this strange dirty feeling now. But I do now have WiFi Tethering.

    Ugly Cars

A friend snapped these photos so excuse the quality, but even with that, you can still make out the crappiness:
  16. I threw mine out. It's just a sway bar. If I ever needed the original one, I'd just get one from the wreckers.
  17. So last night I went to watch Centurion (which was just as crap as I expected), and during all the ads at the beginning, one for Johnnie Walker came on. The ad itself is about a year old, but this was the first time I had seen it. What just surprised me the most was the length of it, but if you think about it, the ad itself is actually quite well done. All in a single take as well.
  18. F*ck. What the hell do you do to your car If you were from Sydney, I could think of how it may happen, hehehe.
  19. I'd try removing the bushes and putting some lithium grease on them so the bar slides smoothly within it. Depending on how tight everything is and how the sound is transferred, you may be getting mixed up between a tight squeak and a knock.
  20. I'm not sure about a scraping sound. May be similar to what Nathan (Tofuboi) was talking about where he was saying the bolts were just a little loose. Tightening them all seemed to fix his issue. Not rue if yours could be fixed int he same manner. Apart from that, I can imagine you getting squeaks if you didn't put some lithium grease or equivalent grease on the bushes when you fitted them.
  21. My suggestion would be to tap into the dome light wiring from behind the glove box. From the Body ECU/distribution panel behind the glove box, you have a all your normal 18 or whatever gauge wires. From here it leads to a connector behind the A-pillar (in which the A-pillar cover is non-removable unless you cut the clip holding it on) and then it goes up to the dome light as a ribbon cable... which is hard to tap into carefully. I didn't take any photos and I'm not pulling the glove box/Body ECU out again, so it's up to you from there on together with the aid of a multimeter.
  22. Spotted this same car again parked outside the Elizabeth Street Arcade at 12:50am last night/this morning. Seems a bit funny in a way.
  23. Aqua Golf FTW. That was a fun evening.
  24. Ouch. Sorry to hear mate. Hope everything goes smoothly in getting it all sorted out.
  25. I'd be keen. Gives me time to try to get moar powah out of the TRD.
