  1. This is definitely one generation of Aurion I would have to make a pass on. In this case however, if I absolutely had to get one, I would get a non-Sportivo. Less is more when it comes to the styling of this model. But if I was in the market for a new car of the Toyota variety, I'd be moving to a Lexus. The new ES350 looks way more appealing:
  2. The idea is because you can lock the boot with the key (which then locks out the boot release lever), if the ski hatch was not able to be locked, it would defeat the purpose of locking the boot in the first place. Provided you were locking it to secure something smaller enough to fit through the ski hatch.
  3. I'll be there. Only have a couple more Thursday night meets after that before I take a little "break".
  4. I only just paid attention to this now. What the heck did they do to the bonnet? .... and that mini grill thing. What a mess.
  5. I don't know why I even bother. Had you have looked at the other link, you would have found some further news.
  6. You can see where that oil line is if you look at the guide that I created. You will find the link in the FAQ.... however I will be nice this time: 2GR-FE VVT-i Oil Line Replacement <- Hint: Look at the left side of the engine when you are facing it from the front. And just so you know, the TRD one does not look like the one in the above photo. It's more like this (excuse my crappy drawing) because it goes via a different path:
  7. "The all new Aurion. It's been riced up" <- Spoken in the same fashion as those old Rav4 ads. Seriously, take your hand and cover up the left side of the car from the rear wheel forwards. That a55 end makes me LOL:
  8. neverfurphy: I should probably clarify that this is an inside joke that you will understand better if you turn up to a meet.

    Fuse Box Help

A fuse will blow for one of two reasons, the most common being a short somewhere along the line, the other being a device that is drawing too much power. If the fuse blew when you replaced it and there was nothing plugged into the socket, I would be inspecting the inside of the socket to ensure there is nothing in there that may be causing a short and failing that, take your console trim off and inspect the wiring.
  10. The hose on the TRD is different as it follows a different path to the N/A 2GR-FE.
  11. I should consider changing that oil hose sometime soon eh. I'm up to 137,000km and because I was doing all the services on my car before the time that Toyota released that revised hose, I never actually had it changed over.

    Fuse Box Help

LOLOLOLOLOL. Look at it from the floor up. Edit: You took the long and hard way to get there. Lighter fuse Look at the fuse box inside the car. It is located behind the glovebox and is accessed from the passenger side footwell. All can be accessed with no tools at all. Let the pictures do the talking (sorry bout the dust, and ignore my footwell lighting): To remove that the panel in the second photo, you can see 4 clips at the front (bottom of photo). Use a little imagination there. If your finger is small enough, you press the clip in through the hole underneath. You should be able to figure it out when you get to it. The fuse/s you are interested in are labelled 'PWR OUTLET' and 'CIG'.
  13. You can get it in a 'puffer bottle' which lets you 'puff some into the tumbler (think like a bottle of talc powder and how can make it puff out of the bottle). Providing it hasn't seized, you then turn the key several times to get the inside covered and repeat as required.
  14. All essential details are written on the first page.
  15. ^ Whilst this may work initially, I have always heard that you shouldn't use oil or anything like that to lubricate locks. This will only end up attracting dirt etc to stick to it making the problem worse in the future. You should only really use something like graphite powder.
  16. Pictures of your car do not show you have weather shield. In this case, I will assume you actually mean the weather strips. In that event: [rant] I just went down to my car and did the following... without every having done so in the past. Sometimes you just have to be willing to try something for yourself. This would have answered your question quicker than having to write a post here and wait for a reply: [/rant]
  17. You're such a stalker Andrew.
  18. They are referring to a panel filter.
  19. The guys over in the States swear by that. You tend to see it a bit on their Toyota Forums. Personally, I would never use such a thing after seeing how it works, but that's more of a personal thing.
  20. The TRD air filter is no different to the standard Aurion.
  21. How about NO.
  22. Lower springs don't necessarily mean they are stiffer. Most of the lowered springs on the Aurion are of a progressive variety. This means that the initial bit of compression is a little less firm than the following compression which can help in aiding ride comfort as well. If you load the car up like the OP was mentioning, you are ultimately going to end up with the same scrubbing as he was originally experiencing.
  23. I just watched the YouTube ad on their eBay page and my first thought was WTF. The ad has one of those parody feels to it. "Sungshin will protect your happiness"... Anyways on topic, not doubting the quality of them but personally, if you are after good value, I'd be looking into QFM pads for only like $20 more. At least you are getting a local brand that others here can agree with in terms of quality.
  24. Sweet. I'll bring some extra napkins then.
