After getting the chance to sit in one of these today (well the FR-S... and left hand drive), I think I have made my decision. My main thought I was getting with regards to this car was that I didn't know if I could make the change from a large car to a small car. Once I sat in this though, the overall feel of the car was enough to sway my decision. It just feels right inside. I hope Toyota don't mess up the price of it.

+1 Word was that it will have a CVT as well which will be epic fail.

Don't get your hopes up though. A stock V8 VE SS is definitely faster than a TRD. The Aurion is in fact speed limited by the way. 250km/h it is (your speedo will show higher though due to the error in its reading.

The meet is looking pretty awesome though. So bummed that I am not able to make it. A big thanks to everyone that has put their hands together to make this meet happen. It's amazing how quickly it creeps up on you. Hard to believe it is just under a month away.

It's a definite no for me now guys. At this stage I am going to be getting back from Fiji on that Friday and there have been some certain things organised for that Saturday. There is also the possibility I will be travelling again on Monday.... so in short; I definitely can not make this meet.

Well doing some research on the topic first is usually advised before spreading bad information that can lead to people panicking over things that don't affect them. Here is my input on it.

I had mouth ulcers last time which were at the point that they were unpleasant if my tongue touched them. Problem was well and truly gone after that pizza. I have cracked lips at the moment thanks to this crap weather. I'm hoping for the same resolution this time too. I guess I'll find out.

I would agree that those split mirrors are a real nuisance. As suggested above, you should have a look to see if the mirror glass matches that of the Aurion. If so, the Aurion mirrors are a single piece, however completely convex. While some people think the full convex mirrors are a nuisance as well, I find that after a short amount of driving, you get used to gauging distance on it and it ends up being safer as you get a wider field of view in your side mirrors. Alternatively, for the price of these parts, it may be worth trying (eBay can be quite handy sometimes) the following. I know it says it's for the 2005-2009 Corolla, but from a quick search, it appears that the mirrors remained the same in the facelift Corolla, but you may want to double check the measurements if you can. The Camry doesn't have the indicator on the mirror and one of the mirrors is not convex. It's the first note that led to people trying to fit Aurion mirrors to the Camry such as what was discussed here: Side Mirror Covers with LED indicators

The Vaseline still applies Andrew. Let's say for some strange reason a cop was using a hand held radar. Your plates shield themselves then you pass the cops. Hidden plates... sure they will just ignore you.
