  1. Let the guy try to sell his car. It's his loss, not yours, if it doesn't sell because of the price.
  2. Stuff that... I'll have the Lancer thanks. I'd honestly go for the orange Lambo. As much as I'd want the Aston, I'm all about being noticed.
  3. There is one particular suggestion here: Battery Trd Aurion There are even suggestions here: Replacement high performance battery for Aurion
  4. About as much fail as posting something that has already been mentioned in a new thread located on the first page of this forum already... which has also been mentioned inside the thread that there is already discussion on this that is now pages long. http://au.toyotaowne...206-new-aurion/
  5. Well the 245/40R19 may end up costing you more due to it being a less available size than the common 245/35R19 which is like what the TRD uses. Even though the 35 profile tire will put your speedo out by about 1% more than the 40 profile tire, at least it puts it out in the direction which is more "safer" (speedo will show you going faster than you actually are).
  6. Let me explain. I click "BAN MEMBER", and you no longer reply.
  7. With the auction running below what the stated RRP is... what a bargain.
  8. It's usually advisable to disconnect the battery before performing electrical work on the car to reduce the chance of shorting something out accidentally. You don't have to do so though. It's just a precaution. You if you do leave the battery connected though, it certainly is a wise idea to not leave the car in the "ON" position unless you intend on having the car running. All that will do is run your battery low... which you have now learnt.
  9. Good stuff. Nice to see you back around here.
  10. I saw it on the eBay front page and was like WTF.
  11. Awwwwww yeah..... eBay - PORTABLE BOOM BOX Quality Sony Xplod FTW.
  12. But this is all subjective. You driving behaviour can affect the fuel consumption regardless of the car. A car with a smaller engine which is generally thought to be more fuel efficient may end up being driven harder in an attempt to perform greater than its economic range. Just downsizing an engine does not equate to better fuel consumption unless your driving style changes to suit. It may sound completely simple, but it does not always equate to this in practice. You have to consider how the car that consumes less fuel must be driven to achieve that better fuel consumption. If you like to drive in a particular style (eg. keeping up with traffic as others accelerate from the lights, accelerating onto the highway at a particular rate, etc) if you downsize to a smaller more fuel efficient car, if your driving style is transferred across, you have defeated the purpose of the more fuel efficient car. What I'm basically getting at is that a more fuel efficient car can achieve the fuel efficiency at the expense of being slower overall, however the less fuel efficient car may be able to get the same efficient when driven slower than usual. The difference here is that one is harder to do than the other because one car (fuel efficient car) feels like you are driving it "normally" but the other one (less fuel efficient car) feel like you are being really cautious.
  13. I think it's very relevant. No one likes their cars to thirst for fuel especially with the high fuel prices. My next car will be a hybrid. If it was very relevant, you would be taking more care on how you drive to conserve fuel. A car can be pretty fuel efficient if you take care of how you drive. My car for example can average 1-2l/100km less if I take care in the way I drive and exhibit more patience on the road. Instead, I choose to drive it how I do and use up more fuel in the process. It's not always about the car or the type of fuel.
  14. Two things: - The recall in the States regarding the floor mat was with in relation to the all-weather rubber mats which are larger than the carpet mats and when sat on top of the standard mats, would be prone to sliding over the accelerator pedal. This can be a potential issue for anyone really, and is of no fault of the mat. - Also in the States, the recall regarding the accelerator pedal was in relation to a locally sourced (CTS) accelerator pedal that operates quite differently to the Denso accelerator pedal found in the Australian Aurion. This issue in no way affects us. But that said, thirdly: - In questioning the possibility of an electronic failure or default in the ECU responsible for accelerator/throttle control, NASA were involved in looking at that and found there was nothing at fault there. Read the following for more details: Toyota's Throttle-by-Wire System Cleared by NHTSA Also, there has been discussion about "tin whiskers" that was brought up after all this discussion on the accelerator pedal which may have made some people think the accelerator pedal was really at fault. You can read more on that research here: http://nepp.nasa.gov...-app-sensor.pdf The accelerator pedal being referenced to in that paper however is a 2003 Camry Accelerator pedal which uses a potentiometer as the form of throttle control. The accelerator pedal used on the newer Camry (both CTS and Denso) utilise hall effect sensors to measure the throttle input and therefore are not affected like shown in the paper. What you experienced would probably be something completely different to the cases experienced by those in the States. Just saying this so others don't get in a panic that "our Aussie aurions were affected by this". In saying that, it could be something as simple as some other obstruction around the pedal area to something as serious as a throttle body servo issue. If you are absolutely sure it wasn't caused by your own wrong-doing (eg. I've once hit both the accelerator and brake with my shoe before), then this is something that you should be inspecting with more detail.
  15. What exactly have you done to your engine to make you think that you are maxing out your current set?
  16. The TRD exhaust for the Aurion is in reference to the American TRD branded cat-back exhaust. It appears though that they now just supply it a rear mufflers. Look here: http://www.trdparts4u.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-8132 On that note Beck, it's not really worth it. Those mufflers are just rebranded Borla mufflers with TRD tips attached to it. You can save your money by just getting Borla mufflers and combining it with some good looking tips. You can save even more money by getting any other brand of muffler even.
  17. This is my thought exactly. Even though it is not smaller, the design of it makes it look smaller. That much so, if you don't compare it to the cars directly around it, you would think it is a Corolla sedan. I guess there is nothing wrong with it when it's just how it looks, but it just gives an impression that it isn't much of a family sedan.
  18. We are taking about a difference of about 7-18kW based on the results from others. I'm not referring to changes in weather conditions etc. Dynos can be set up to display different figures based on the mode they are set. Some are made to compensate for environmental differences to give a figure that would be thought to be more "accurate" while some don't apply any compensation. Without knowing exactly how the said dyno was set up, you can't make a comparison.
  19. Here's a basic question... did you reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery etc after the K&N intake was fitted? Sometimes the Aurion doesn't quite know how to respond to changes and resetting the ECU forces it to learn what is "normal". Also, the check VSC error is very deceiving. You will tend to get the Check VSC System message whenever any code is thrown and sometimes by the time you go to read the actual code, it will have been cleared and the only one left is the generic VSC error code. Every dyno can have it's day where it reads differently. You can't really compare unless you have the different cars on the same dyno around the same time. What matters here is that you could see the difference between the K&N and stock and that indicates that it is reading consistent for comparing the same car with changes. are you serious ...??? why is my so **** ... but believe it or not ..i have raced so many cars ..roll-start and at the lights. audi tt, mazda mps ..golf gti..and always win though.. Those cars aren't particularly fast either. Besides, racing a car on the streets proves nothing.
