  1. I just don't get how people can do that to their car and think it looks brilliant. It's like those chicks that turn themselves into Oompa Loompa's and think they look hot.

    Little Rants

Ever tried putting just the rear windows down on the Aruon while moving at 80km/h or more? You will probably only last a few seconds because it nearly feels like the windows will explode.
  3. I just went into that website and they had over 5 other non OEM branded spark plugs listed for the 2grfe. Are you affiliated with the site or just unconsciously incompetent at giving advice? Whilst it may appear that this is the case, I think there may have been some misunderstandings in the wording. Whilst they do supply other brands of spark plug brands that are non-OEM to the 2GR-FE, the brands themselves are OEM brands... just for different car manufacturers. So technically they are dealing with OEM parts.... just not exactly OEM specific to the car you are purchasing them for.
  4. Obviously not. Man this was heading somewhere good. ....... for us.
  5. I did see your post. From what I gathered, you are of the opinion which supports HALTEC, MOTEC, etc... which is where I sit. However when I refer to it as piggyback, I mean so in the way that you would have to run it together with the stock ECU on these cars if you wish to maintain all the safety features/Body ECU features etc. I just can't see anyone in their right mind running one of these cars solely on a standalone and disabling every other feature of the car. I can see such a thing happening, but we are talking about road legal cars here. I can't imagine passing a safety certificate when your airbag ECU is logging a fault because it isn't communicating properly with the main ECU... amongst other things that can happen when the main ECU is taken out of the equation. The OBDII discussion going on here.... you probably haven't picked up what's really going on yet. Which is understandable because there is more to it than what is seen here (as in the discussion of this extend outside of the forum). I thought my first reply would have showed which direction I was heading in.... but I guess no one really followed. On a side note to this whole discussion, these eBay performance chip threads are a dime a dozen on this forum... and many other forums for that matter. This thread is a result of what you are going to get when something has been discussed so many times that if you aren't going to put the effort in to look for our answers, then we are just going to have some fun.
  6. F*ck this sh*t. Nobody bother asking me any more questions on the matter. For those that played along, thank you. For those that didn't see what was happening, go buy yourself a real piggyback and post some results. .... Though I've heard that one before many times and am yet to see a single person here do it.
  7. Yeah "toyota pride". Maybe Evo7 has a point. Be like everyone else and don't do it. So many people bail out on their ideas, so it wouldn't be unusual.
  8. Don't worry "toyota pride". Just to make you realise that you need to research yourself in addition to what others type say... I will add something: Incorrect. Superchargers are belt driven and don't rely on vacuum. Turbochargers require positive air pressure from the exhaust gasses to be driven.... so they aren't powered by vacuum either. It is true that the OBD-II standard is for obtaining readings, but it's also common for manufacturers to utilise this interface to connect to the ECU and make changes to their internal parameters. Take the Toyota Intelligent Tester II. This interfaces via the OBD-II port and can modify parameters within the ECU. Those previous two linked devices weren't from eBay so you make the call.
  9. This is a customisable feature which can be turned on and off via the Body ECU with the use of the Toyota Intelligent Tester. Try to ask your local service department of they can do so for you. I can't say whether they would charge you for this or not. I guess it depends on how kind they are. I was charged about $27.50 when I asked them to make my remote unlock just the driver's door on the first key press then unlock the other doors on the second press. Just remember, this way involves you having to go back to Toyota if you want to change it back. Alternatively, you can just disconnect the buzzer and reconnect it if you want to later down the line. There are two buzzers and they are mounted in the actual headlight assembly.
  10. Wow. I must have lost track of what was in the first post with all this discussion going on. Well considering I linked the same without being aware of what you linked to in the first post... some may say that's a sign.
  11. Why not something like this then. It's within the price range of the first one you posted and is from a more established seller rather than eBay: Stage 3 Performance Chip OBDII Module
  12. Don't let the above comment make you reconsider "toyota pride". If you do, you will never really know the potential. I seriously reckon you should combine it with an electric supercharger. Shop outside of eBay for that one though. You should get something like this: Twin Electric Supercharger System

    Little Rants

Those that own an Aurion would understand this rant.... ... when you wash the windscreen then want to put your window down to let some air in while you are driving. The design of the pillar on the side of the windscreen is so bad that the water just runs into the car and all over the door trim and window switches. Pi**es me off every time.
  14. Looks like another project plan bites the dust: Toyota Aurion TRD Supercharger Edit: My mistake.... not another. This was a hopeful project from a few years back from a member on here.
  15. I'm guessing these are going to start appearing on the road soonish? ^ Man the rear end of those look so bland. At least the 1st Gen Aurion had a rear end that looked different to other cars on the road.
  16. I reckon there could be something in these units as well. Hurry up and buy it already and be a pioneer.
  17. This is not going to go anywhere fast so time to close this up.
  18. So you want to replace the H1R1 bulbs? I can't really see a reason to do so though. In my experience, the H1R1 globe is highly efficient for the bulb that it is and is brighter than a bulb of similar wattage. You'd be better off sticking to the same type, but if you wanted an even higher output, my only recommendation after this would be 4,300k 55W HID's.
  19. At a mate's place for a slab of beer. P.S. I'm not going to bother attending to the above comment from Chris for the simple fact that you have decided to report someone's post... only to reply in retaliation. Fair use of the system. I don't call the fire brigade if there is a fire and then start pouring petrol on it. P.P.S I am also not, and strictly speaking he is correct, you would go to a mechanic - mick.wheelz
  20. Wow. Look at the list of vehicles they can do. They must have the R&D capabilities since they had to have been able to obtain fuel maps for all those cars. Only $130 too. You should buy it.
  21. In other words... spend some more money and get some supporting mods together with it.
  22. They are listed as a universal fit. Shows that there must have been some planning put into these before sale.
