    2012 Camry

Uh ohes.... no I told you so's (because i can so see that happening):
  2. You make a good point there Dave. Thank you government for breaking our tradition.
  3. Seriously.... buy an XR6 Turbo. Well it says 2GR-FE then the word "Supercharged" underneath it.... which is technically correct.
  4. My best figures: 2007 Sportivo SX6 - Stock exhaust resonator, straight-through rear mufflers, modified intake (removed intake snorkel), Surprisingly, changing to the K&N SRI yielded no benefit in terms of my 1/4 mile time and trap speed, stock suspension, stock 17 inch Sportivo wheels, subwoofer removed from boot, < 1/4 tank of fuel for 1/4 mile, 1/2 tank of fuel for track. With regards to traction control, for the drags having it off did not really provide any benefit since once the wheels slip you lose valuable time one way or another. For these cars, the launch has to be perfect if you want a decent time. For the track, I don't really think there was any benefit having it off. For the traction control/VSC to kick in, you would need to spin the wheels quite a bit and on the sticky track surface, the level of grip was enough that having it on or off didn't really matter. That said, I turned it off on all rounds except for one. 1/4 mile: 14.131s @ 99.29mph - Time slip Track (Queensland Raceway): 1:08.6 2007 TRD 3500SL - Stock exhaust, modified intake (removed intake snorkel, TRD panel filter), Note: changing to the K&N SRI yielded no benefit in terms of my 1/4 mile time and trap speed. Stock suspension, stock 19 inch TRD wheels, subwoofer removed from boot, < 1/4 tank of fuel for 1/4 mile. 1/4 mile: 13.372s @ 104.46mph - Time slip
  5. I have looked a bit into this for the Aurion as i was looking into getting them for mine too. After a few hours searching around online, i came up with nothing. It seems there's not many places that do these aftermarket, and none at all that i can see for the Aurion/Camry. I hardly looked into the matter. Typed 'power mirror' into our forum search and: Folding Mirrors With that information in mind, a quick Google search: TOYOTA camry/solara power-folding signal side mirror SAE/07~2010
  6. Cool story bro. LOL at their comment about gaining cult status thanks to that.
  7. Please be aware that if you refer to the FAQ, you will find a link to all the appropriate service manuals. There you will find the following:

    Quick 86 Review

I was originally leaning towards not really wanting one as I prefer my larger sedans etc, but the more and more I look at this car in motion, the more I actually think I want it.
  9. It's interesting to see the other side of the discussion. I for one actually think AAMI is quite good. Of the few claims I have made with them, and from those couple my family members have made, they have provided excellent service.
  10. I haven't checked Monkey Wrench Racing in a while so I decided to do so. Looks interesting. Someone needs to dump some money into their Aurion and get the following: N/A: Darton MID Sleeve Kit (6) - Lotus/Toyota 2GR-FE V6 Engine - US$1,299 Wiseco Piston Set - Toyota 2GR - 12.0:1 - 97.0mm - US$999 Crower Connecting Rod set - Toyota 2GR-FE V6 - US$1,091.55 MWR Plug N Play Adapter - eManage Ultimate - 2006-09 2GR-FE 3.5L - US$529 + an eManage Ultimate for whatever you can get one for. Or you can get the 9.0:1 Piston set and add your own form of boost to really make your Aurion a weapon.
  11. And I guess that's how Toyota saw it as well since after all, its intended use is not as a manual transmission. But for those that choose to operate it as if it was one, the logical direction is to pull back to go up a gear because that matches up with the movement experienced by the driver while accelerating/decelerating.
  12. Well I'll be damned. Learn something new every day. That said, DIY modification cost nil and the shape of the replacement trim appears to be slightly different from the Aurion: http://www.trdparts....ortshifter.html As well, the trim bit is kinda stuck in place by means of those tabs which they melt to lock it in and for some reason, things don't feel the same when reassembled. I planned on 'scratching out the black to make the minus a plus and then colour in the top and bottom of the plus to make a minus. I then gave up and figured that it's not THAT important.
  13. Are you sure about the entire contents?
  14. Today I replaced the tire which got damaged on Saturday the 21st of January on some crap Brisbane road.... the day before I departed for my two week cruise. Such an inconvenience and a massive bummer because that tire had travelled a good 55,000km and was a little less than 50% worn. Yesterday I replaced my 4.5 year old OEM battery that was in the car when it came out of the factory. It conveniently died while I was away on holiday and I found out when I got into the car after returning from my trip all relaxed. Grrrrrrr. /rant.
  15. Interesting. I never actually looked at the part breakdown on that until now, but have a look at this: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_2007_TOYOTA_AURION_GSV40L-JETDKV_1107.html I guess they don't have the rod with the bush, or even the bush on it's own. The full assembly matches the part number in your quote so I'd say they are going to change the whole thing. Maybe it might be another option to see if you can source a bush and just change that out if that's all that's cracked.
  16. I use it as a coin tray (lined removable ashtray with cloth to prevent rattles) and if I need more room, I remove the ashtray itself. Didn't even bother putting an LED in there because honestly, it's not something that anyone or even myself would notice. Don't really see the point in modifying that area into something more useful unless you want to put switch panel behind there or something. The panel above that seems to be somewhere that would be more useful for turning into something.
  17. Forgetting someone?
  18. Toyota.
  19. ^ Mmmmmmm. I need to get a pair.
  20. Damn it! I would have liked to be around for this.
  21. It used to be like that but now it's the quote and the image showing, i'm sure i missed something In the new editor where the image is displayed, just click once on the image to select it and then hit the backspace key. Otherwise, if they have added the photo via the attachment function, you can delete a photo by removing the reference that looks like: [attachment=<blah>] You need to look at the original post though and count which one you want to delete (they are listed in order shown), or click on the original image to see its name.
  22. Holidays for me start at 4:30pm tomorrow so I will definitely be out.
  23. Not everyone sees things in the same way (no pun intended). What one person may think is good illumination, another person may be quite the opposite. Not everybody has the same set of eyes. A lot of this "I think HID's are better etc" discussion is subjective.
  24. If you are directed to the forum via a search engine or though a link posted on someone's Facebook page etc, the forum will recognise where you have been directed from and will display that source in the online/viewing list. Also what Hiro said.
