  1. Nah man. Those are inefficient. If you are really keen, these are the way to go: http://www.ebay.com....#ht_3895wt_1139 But they are a bit iffy for use on the Aurion. I hear it's because the engine can't handle such a change to the intake and the ECU doesn't compensate for it accordingly. No one is game enough to try them because of that effort involved.
  2. For sure mate. Make sure you combine it with one of these while you are at it: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HICLONE-II-Genuine-KI70-Fits-many-vehicles-Can-Post-/180835631216?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1aa4c070#ht_649wt_1185
  3. I have had my TRD nearly 2 years...... ..... 120,000 km (ODO is at 135,000 km at the moment) I'm not after resale. This car is going to be stuck with me for a while.
  4. If you just unbolt the rear mufflers and do nothing else, you are also making your car illegal because the exhaust is now venting under the car.

  6. You do know the NZ Dollar is not 1-for-1 with the Australian Dollar right? That makes the RRP of the Aurion AT-X over there about a few thousand more than the Aurion AT-X here, and the Sportivo SX6 about the same as it is here. On top of that, I can't comment on how it works over there in NZ, but on the NZ transport website, I could not see anything about having to pay Stamp Duty on a vehicle. If that's the case, it works out cheaper than Australia then I would imagine.
  7. How do you expect us to say whether the price is fair or not if we can't even see the car to make a judgement on it? It's like calling your doctor and asking them to do a check on your health over the phone.
  8. That would be correct. The N/A Aurion has a much deeper induction sound because the only thing (if you exclude the minor intake components) between the pod filter is all the pipework up to the valves of the engine. On the TRD, the sound from the engine gets muffled by the rotors of the supercharger and the actual construction of the supercharger itself. On idle, the supercharger is bypassed so without having to "push" much air (as it's being bypassed), the load to drive the supercharger at idle is quite small and as a result, the TRD idles at pretty much the same RPM as the N/A Aurion.
  9. Mmmmm. I would love to have a supercharger that sounds like this:
  10. I can't imagine any reason why they won't be just as good. As long as they are of the required specification, they should be right. For things like this though, I guess personal preference comes into play. I personally like to stick with a well trusted brand and since the OEM Denso ones haven't let me down, I don't see a need to move away from them.
  11. That's what you get if you don't opt for a custom build. These damn TRD's have the throttle body facing differently to the standard Aurion, and with nil aftermarket support... gotta do what you gotta do. The sound seems about right for the TRD. I guess looks can come second since everyone isn't looking in the engine bay when you drive by.
  12. Direct fit or did it require some "hacking" so to speak? What sound? The truck idling sound.... cause that's just how these things sound.

^ That is so sig worthy.
  14. It's an Asian Camry with the 2.4 litre engine which is not a hard car to turbo. That's not a TRD.... it just has a TRD bumper. Have you heard a supercharger in person? If not, well let me say that the sound is unmistakably a turbo.

Jeeezz. Nice way to misread the post. It's good to see just how mental and worked up you get over the lack of rear headrests. On a side note, I find it hilarious how such a thing is such a serious matter for you. In addition to finding it hilarious, I also find the requirement to build a bridge is becoming necessary.
  16. I'd have to see that one first hand. As far as I was aware, there were no settings in the Body ECU that allows such a feature.
  17. The only time the doors will automatically lock is when you unlock the doors with the remote or by touching the door handle (after the doors were initially locked) and do not open a door for 30 seconds. To answer the question again, no, our Body ECU can not be programmed to lock it automatically when you walk away. I can think of ways to make it do so, but you essentially need to make a kit for it.
  18. RDA brake rotors are surprisingly cheap for what's essentially a rather decent quality rotor. I'm not surprised at the cost. After running DBA and RDA, I can safely say that RDA may be cheap on price but not on quality.
  19. Mmmmm. Certainly the most unique Gen 4 I know of. Looking forward to seeing this in person soon. It will be like seeing a new car again. Good to see you now have yourself a thread Anthony.
  20. You will need a H7 35W HID set http://au.toyotaowne...s-to-hid-6000k/ Correction. The low beam bulb type on all grades of the Aurion except for the Presara is H11, This is answered in the FAQ for future reference. No variation of the Aurion uses a H7 bulb.
  21. Well the pre-made option is there for those like myself that either don't have the time to get to a shop to get them made up... or are just too lazy for that side of things. Something like this means they just have to open a package that arrives at their door and spend a short amount of time fitting them without having to leave the house. For some people, convenience is worth the extra dollars.
  22. For those of you who prefer the look of braided brake lines.... or for those who are convinced that braided brake lines will actually make a difference for them: Brake Upgrade Toyota AURION GSV40R all -SAFEBRAKE Braided Hose-Lines parts
  23. ASL (Automatic Sound Levelling). You can find it in the audio settings menu (like where the balance settings are) when the engine is started.
